The Lands Between was once ruled by Queen Marika, chosen by the Greater Will to be the vessel for the Elden Ring, which ensured prosperity and immortality through "Grace." But after Marika's son Godwyn was murdered, she shattered the Elden Ring, leading to Marika's disappearance and a devastating war among her demigod children vying for control. In the aftermath, the Lands Between fell to ruin, until the Greater Will returned Grace to the exiled Tarnished, giving them a chance to repair the Elden Ring and restore order.
