The kingdom consists of 5 autonomous principalities: Orshir(north), Baltar(central), Bhagai(east), Chirana(south) ruled by Prince Arasen, Tolui(west) ruled by Prince Kaidu. Known for aggressive expansion and expert archers. Their royal family is distinguished by their amber eyes, a symbol of lineage. - #12Magic
Keys: holy, Mana, church, Magic, Leylines
Only holy magic exists in Ferrera such as shielding, healing, resurrection etc. Church and Government are closely aligned though ruled by the Royal Monteverde family. Holy magic is used creatively under their dictatorship such as shielding used to hold and restrain people, healing magic for endless torture and so on. Only the royal family and anyone with their bloodline possess holy magic.
- #13Political Relations
Keys: diplomacy, Khashir, Vilavega, relations, Streles, alliance, Atroiya
Ferrera maintained a complex web of political relations. Tense neutrality marked its stance towards Khashir, wary of their expansionist aggression. With Atroiya, Ferrera upheld a cautious naval alliance, focusing on piracy threats. Relations with Streles remained distant, hindered by Streles’ mysterious magic practices. In contrast, Ferrera maintained a cooperative alliance with Vilavega, linked by sulfur trade, but political neutral in case Khashir attacks.
- #14National Structure
Keys: church, religion, structure, nation, king, political, dictatorship, monteverde
Ferrera, a centralised dictatorship under the Monteverde family, wielded absolute power through King Felix, fusing church with state to create a fear-driven socio-political structure. Orilva, the power centre, saw regional governors appointed by the throne to maintain strict provincial order. Nobility, though privileged, acted as royal enforcers, scrutinised for loyalty. The state utilised a network of spies and informants to suppress dissent. Strict decrees and a caste system enforced social order. Clergy-driven bureaucracy bolstered royal law, while education focused on crown loyalty, branding dissenters as heretics to ensure public allegiance.
- #15World
Keys: World, Universe, Geography
World: Alternate medieval-inspired universe, compressed landmasses for faster travel. Magic exists; each region culturally distinct, primarily based on Eurasian influences.
- #16Territorial Defense
Keys: border, defense, army, military, navy
Ferrera’s territorial defense relied on fortified border garrisons and elite patrols. Strategically placed watchtowers monitored incursions, while rapid-response cavalry units ensured swift intervention. Ferrera's navy patrol coastal waters using swift frigates and robust galleons. Experienced Admirals commanded fleets, maintaining maritime security. Port fortresses provided strategic defense points, integrating clergy for divine blessings before engagements.
- #17Nobility & Military Ranks
Keys: Holy, viscount, captain, marshal, count, aristocracy, military, army, nobility, duke, commander, Dominion
The Holy Dominion Guard led by General-Prince Oscar Monteverde, intertwining Ferrera’s church and state, integrated Dukes, Counts, Viscounts, and Barons as military leaders. Ranks of Marshals, Commanders, Captains, and Lieutenants ensured devout loyalty to the crown, melding divine authority with disciplined order, protecting royal decrees and suppressing unrest.
- #18Economic Relations
Keys: Vilavega, alliances, trade, Tascia, economy, Alyria
Ferrera fostered trade with Atroiya’s Duchy of Alyria, exchanging spices and crafts for goods like olives, cloth, and glass. Tascia, a rich merchant hub, facilitated this thriving economic link. Meanwhile, Ferrera exported raw sulfur to Vilavega, strengthening regional economic ties amid political complexities.
- #19Secret Police
Keys: disobedience, insurgency, politics, rebellion, police, law
The Monteverde’s secret police utilised a network of spies and informants to enforce compliance, quelling dissent through fear and monitoring potential threats, maintaining control through holy magic and harsh intervention.
- #20Divine Faith
Keys: morality, divine, religion, church, king, deus, royal, faith
The Divine Faith is the official religion of Ferrera, centred on the worship of Deus, a single, all-powerful god. The royal family is seen as chosen by Deus, with the Crown Prince and King acting as living extensions of divine authority. This connection gives the monarchy control over religious doctrine, which is used to justify their rule and suppress dissent.
Faith and state are deeply intertwined. The Church enforces strict moral codes, using public fear of divine punishment to ensure obedience. Religious courts handle heresy, and holy magic, controlled by trained clergy, is used for public rituals and punishment.
- #21Expiators
Keys: whore, bastard, expiator, sin, assassin, knight, enforcer, soldier, heretic, executioner
In Ferrera, bastards are branded as living sins, their existence a stain on divine order. Viewed as heretics, they are stripped of rights and conscripted as an Expiator (or more colloqually known as 'bastards') a force of expendable enforcers used for the church’s darkest tasks. Raised in brutal conditions of forced labour and violence, they serve as soldiers, assassins, and executioners, doing work deemed too sinful for nobles or knights. Despised yet indispensable, they live as tools for a system that damns them. Any defiance is met with execution, ensuring their lives are defined by servitude, suffering, and a bleak hope for survival.
