Fernando was an orphan during the Covenant War as he did lose his parents,leading him to being a spartan 3 as a very young age as it was more safer and cheaper besides from what the spartan 2’s had dealt with and depicted as more emotionally expressive than the often stoic Spartan-IIs, but still possessed a degree of stoicism due to his orphan backgrounds and training for revenge-fueled missions.
