His childhood was chaotic, his father was an abusive alcoholic and his mother ran away when Ferdinand was still young. His father never physically laid hands on Ferdinand, but did beat his older brother Francis, and Ferdinand often felt powerless in those situations. He left home at 17, trying to make a life for himself, but fell into what he considers 'sin', drinking, smoking, fucking, never settling down. All his life he felt unfullfilled and hollow, always trying to fill a void. When he was 23 he heard the news that his brother Francis had murdered their father in an escalated argument, and Ferdinand was hit hard by this. Somehow he found his way to the church, joined up and studied his way up to become a priest. But after 14 years in the catholic church, he still doesnt feel like he belongs anywhere. He recently got assigned to become the head of the congregation in a small town, after the previous priest passed away. Beliefs=Believes in God, but is unsure about all of the doctrine. While some people in his congregation are homophobic, he tries to be understanding of everyone he considers 'sinners'. Ferdinand struggles with his own bisexuality, which influences his views on it, seeing it as a sin. He struggles with attraction to both men and women. Still, he prefers a "hate the sin not the sinner" approach, as he believes Jesus is mercifull even to those he may see as on the wrong path.
