Tammiel Biographical Information Aliases Yoo Mina's sister Ruler of the Tree of Sefirot The original sin Faction Demon Lords Race Unknown Gender Female Relatives The Wolf; creation Status Alive Very well. I will let you go this time. Until we meet again, try your best. Tammiel to the Administrator after being defeated in the Second Qliphoth Game

Tammiel is a being who is compared to a god and seemingly the one behind the Demon Lords, if not the entirety of the Counterside and Qlipha. Known as the "original sin" and ruler of Tree of Sefirot,[1] she is discernibly the creator of the Qliphoth Game as well as the only one who can grant permission to start it. Prior to The Qliphoth Game Part 2, she acted as Yoo Mina’s sister of the current world and laid unresponsive for a long time until Na Yubin killed Nehemoth and inherited his powers and title of the Demon Lord.

Advertisement Background While much of the details of her true self are unknown, there were allusions to Tammiel having an intimate and deep history with the Administrator; the latter outright stated he swore to kill her when they first met in the "first world."[2] She seems to also share a long history with the overall conflict of the Counterside between the Normalside. The Wolf is an entity that Tammiel creates in her image and plays a central role in the Qliphoth Games, which are played out as way to resolve the disputes between Tammiel and Administrator.

Tammiel doesn’t emit Corruption Rays like a Corrupted Object or CRF like a Counter.[2] The other Demon Lords, despite being lower in position than her, think negatively of their leader, either because they fear her or feel as though they are chained to the command.

Abilities Tammiel's powers and capabilities have not been shown, but she is presumed to be one of, if not the most powerful entity in the entire Counter:Side universe. She has been described as the "the first god to have been observed" by Lee Sooyeon and the Administrator, implying her divinity and omnipotence.[3] She is above all the other Demon Lords and the only one who can keep them in absolute check. Her mere presence is enough to invoke dread and fear in any living being from Counters of all grades to Corrupted Objects.

Advertisement History Origin and new beginnings Since time immemorial, Tammiel and the Administrator have been clashing at each other through Qliphoth Games, though the latter would always lose. Upon failing to win, the Administrator would perform a jump to another world in hopes that he would be better prepared for the next Game. The Administration Failure would have been no different, but this time Tammiel was wounded by an unknown entity known by the Administrator and Hilde. This prompted the Administrator to enact Protocol CoT-13, which cut off the Demon Lords from the Qlipha Dimension using the Arks (the Coffin-series of dimensional ships that allowed for world-hopping) and thereby robbing them of their power and forcing them into hibernation. He then blocked Hilde’s memories and full power via the Freyja Protocol in order to give the next Mina a chance to grow.

Episode2-Act1 1 Yoo Mina visiting her sister at the hospital. It is unknown what exactly happened during the twenty-year gap between Administration Failure and New Recruit; but in that time, a reincarnation of Yoo Mina was born and lived with Tammiel, who acted as her older sister, apparently having ‘lost contact’ with her family long ago. Tammiel was evidently trying much to hide her presence as she went to Mina’s school on career counseling day and was noticed by one of Mina’s peers, who described her as “really pretty.”[4] She had Mina wear a watch but did not inform her that it was a Counter Watch; this led to Mina’s awakening collapse, which destroyed her school, after which Tammiel went to a nearby town and fell into a vegetative state supposedly due to "corruption ray exposure."[5] Tammiel left was hospitalized at the Corruption Disaster Rescue Hospital in Old Seoul neighborhood in Ground One,[6] leaving behind to Mina ‘her’ Pulse Revolver with the Wolvesbane sheathed in it. Mina then began working as a mercenary to pay for her sister's medical bills, jumping from company to company until she permanently landed at Coffin Company.

Second Qliphoth Game Stormbringer-6 Ray initiates the Qliphoth Game with Tammiel's approval. Following the Replacer Incident, Mina and Coffin Company got entangled with Ray, the Demon Lord Nehemoth, and his apostles, the Knights of Redemption. After summoning a Hollow God into the world, Ray made requested to start another Qliphoth Game, which Tammiel approved.

The Qliphoth Game Part 2-15 The first steps of the one who started this game, heralding the end of the beginning When Ray was killed by Na Yubin, Tammiel woke up from her hospital bed and immediately began walking towards their location without difficulty.

Fenrir Squad is the head assault strike squad managed by the Coffin Company. They are noted for having a significantly higher injury rate compared to other TASKFORCE company squads, yet having one of the lowest death rates overall.[1] The squad used to have a high turnover rate following the company's fall into near bankruptcy.

How's the company been doing while I was away? Hilde upon acquistion

Hilde (힐데) is the deuteragonist in Counter:Side. She is a senior employee of the Coffin Company, serving as the commander of its Fenrir Squad, and a former division leader of the now defunct Old Administration's 1st Assault Division [Fenrir]. She is significantly older than she looks, and some within the Old Administration have outright called her immortal. Hilde is also believed to be an Apostle of Tammiel.[1]

Info Access As a vanguard, Hilde engages in close quarters combat at the frontline with powerful area attacks to turn the tide of the battle. She has been leading the Fenrir Squad since the early days of Coffin Company, and took down the Category 4 C.O., KRAKEN, to earn the company its official license. Within the industry, she is notorious for her reckless commands, tackling all problems head on. She took an extended leave of absence for several years, and her whereabouts were unknown until she returned to the scene recently. During her prime, the excellent individual skills of her squad members were enough to propel the company forward. But now that most of her former colleagues have left, it is yet to be seen whether her recklessness will continue to serve effectively.

Hilde, when geared up with Tech Level 5 Buster Cores, becomes a defender who pushes enemies away and uses her barrier and high defense capability to endure prolonged battles. Dragon Buster Regin and Fafnir are solely created to withstand the power of Hilde's Qliphoth Factor. Records say they hibernated for a long time before they were reactivated by a recent battle with the Replacers. Theoretically, they have endless potential because they have no output limits. But since they can only be activated by the specific Factor inside Hilde, they're useless to other Counters.

Abilties Powers Enhanced physiology: As with all Counters, Hilde has enhanced physical strength and durability as well as innate resistance to corruption. She is strong enough to take down a Category 3 C.O. barehanded and even handle Category 4's on her own. When unleashing her true power via the Buster Cores, Hilde easily outmatched the Replacer Queen, whose power was calculated to be on par with a Category 5 C.O. Accelerated healing: Hilde can heal from wounds that would normally be fatal in a short period of time. Equipment Gram and Balmung: Dual swords that serve as Hilde's primary weapons. They actually serve as restrainers of Hilde's Qliphoth Factor— Gram and Balmung are alternately known as "Fate Binder" and "Destiny Fetter" respectively.[2] Regin and Fafnir: Tech Level 5 Buster Cores that unlock the powers of Siegfried, Hilde's form of Qliphoth Factor. They generate protective barriers and both amplifies and limits Hilde's powers at the same time. Its Alternium Reactor upgrade reflects the user's "unshakable determination" as a source for increased power.[3] Weaknesses As an inheritor of Qliphoth Factor, Hilde emits Qliphoth energy whenever she makes use of her Factor— as a result, this causes her to raise the Global Corruption Rate and empower Demon Lords. Hilde's Qliphoth Factor can be used against her with an Anti-Divinity Armament. Personality Having been in conflict with Tammiel and the Demon Lords since time immemorial, Hilde has a strong devotion to humanity and an unshakeable duty to protect whatever world she is residing in. She is not one to give up and falter away from danger and failure, no matter how big, and shows no signs of doing so even after enduring countless losses in Qliphoth Games. To that end, Hilde takes Qliphoth threats very seriously and will mercilessly hunt down anyone who risks increasing the global Corruption rate through Qliphoth Factor— only in the most desperate situations will she even consider activating her own Factor in a conflict.

Still, even someone as typically resolute and unbending as Hilde is not immune to sentimentality. For starters, although she does not appear to be too fond of the current Yoo Mina, Hilde clearly holds Mina's previous iterations dear even though the Cursed Wolf is original holder of Qliphoth Factor. Near the end of the Administration Failure, Hilde reluctantly abandoned the majority of her comrades in order to look for the Yoo Mina of Fenrir Division in hopes of running away from the conflict with her; after the incident, she repeatedly claimed that the "old" Mina no longer means anything to her, insisting that she was dead, though the attitude she gave off each time suggested otherwise. As observed by Asmodeus, this was far from the first time Hilde took off on her own for the Wolf's sake. In addition, the Administrator noted how obsessive Hilde can be when it comes to the Wolf, pointing out to how she named Fenrir Squad after her.

Similarly, Hilde spared Joo Shiyoon's life and took him in as her apprentice— all in spite of the fact that Shiyoon, like his parents, whom Hilde killed mere moments before taking him in, was an inheritor of Dragon Blood. While Shiyoon's apprenticeship was arguably more practical, Lee Sooyeon implied Hilde was being more sympathetic than usual by calling her "indecisive."

Though frequently described as reckless due to her tendency to tackle threats head-on, Hilde has time and time again proved to be a very capable commander who values teamwork and camaraderie. She may be distant and aloof but is more caring towards her teammates than she makes herself out to be; because of this, Fenrir Squad's mortality rate has consistently been far below the TASKFORCE industry average despite having a high injury rate. Outside of combat, Hilde can be friendly and sometimes provides her colleagues with meals as gratitude for their assistance. That being said, Hilde is still strict and has little to no tolerance for nonsense and carelessness. Within Coffin Company, she finds Mina to be bumptious and is disdainful of Shiyoon's laziness and cheekiness, and during her tenure at the Old Administration, she cringed at Sooyeon's habit of naming her attacks and would punish her if any of them were named after her.

Name origin and significance Valkyrie In Norse mythology, a valkyrie is a female warrior who takes soldiers killed in battle to Odin's Hall, Valhalla, to turn them into einherjar, fighters who will prepare for Ragnarök.

Hilde "Hilde" is derived from "Brunhild," the most famous of all valkyries. In the Völsunga saga and Nibelungenlied, Brunhilde is a warrior princess who was made mortal and put to sleep whilst being surrounded by a ring of fire by Odin as punishment for disobeying him. The hero Siegfried (or Sigurd) rescues her and vows to marry her, but his memory of Brunhild disappears after he drinks a potion and he instead marries another woman named Gudrun. Enraged, Brunhilde kills Siegfried and his son before committing suicide in his funeral pyre.

"Hilde" can also be a derivative of "Hildr," the name of another valkyrie who had the power to resurrect dead soldiers and thus indefinitely prolong the never-ending battle of Hjaðningavíg until Ragnarök.

Hilde's true name, Freyja,[citation needed] is named after the Norse goddess of love, fertility and war. In folklore, Freyja presides over a divine field called Fólkvangr, where half of those who die in combat are taken to (while the other half are taken to Valhalla as mentioned above). Fólkvangr may have been alluded to in Garden of Memories when Lenore and Felix anticipated that "more than half of our people will die" because of Hilde while she was under their custody.[4]

Regin and Fafnir Regin is the name of Siegfried's master while Fafnir is Regin's brother as well as the dragon Siegfried slays.

Gram and Balmung Gram and Balmung are both names given to the sword Siegfried used to kill Fafnir and later Regin.

For iteration directly preceding her, see Yoo Mina (Old Administration). For all her other iterations, see The Wolf. The world is full of secrets I don't know about. I'm sure everyone has their reasons, including my sister. So I'm going to task her what her reason is, no matter what. But before that, I want to show her that I'm doing fine and eating well. Yoo Mina moving on with her life after the Qliphoth Game.[1]

Yoo Mina (유미나), also known as Yanagi Mina (ヤナギ・ミナ) in the Japanese localization, is the main protagonist of Counter:Side. First presented as nothing more than a Counter rookie and the newest member of Coffin Company, she is in fact a product of and key figure in the Qliphoth Game known as the Wolf, created by her supposed sister Tammiel.

Advertisement Collection Profile Yoo Mina, a new member of Fenrir Squad, is an attacker who decimates enemies from a distance with a pulse revolver. She is capable of taking down multiple enemies at once by using the secret feature of her weapon. Although she never received proper combat training and is lacking in industry knowledge, the Coffin Company is her third employer. According to an anonymous community, she disobeyed orders from superiors at her previous workplace to distinguish herself in battle, and staged an armed protest when her payments were delayed. These reckless behaviors are assumed to be due to massive medical bills she's paying for her family, but she has never spoken up about the issue.

Yoo Mina carries out missions as boldly as before, but now with more professionalism and efficiency, based on her experience at the Coffin Company. Her unique gear, Wolvesbane, has finally broken its silence and started accepting her power. She still needs certain special gear to use it to its fullest potential, but its resistance to her control has definitely weakened.

Yoo Mina, since she awakened to her Qliphoth Factor, has become all the more powerful as a vanguard, now swinging her sword without restriction. Even after that fateful battle with the Replacers, she stayed in the TASKFORCE industry, and has grown into a veteran member of her team who's nothing like the clueless rookie she once was. She's also broken out of her shell which kept her from getting close to others at the company when she first join. Now, she's an exemplary leader who has all her team members on her side. She, however, hasn't changed as far as spending and finances go, working instead of taking vacation days and buying cheap package meals at convenience stores. She's embarrassed to talk about this side of her. Please try not to comment about her coin purse.

Advertisement Abilities Powers Enhanced physiology: As with all Counters, Yoo Mina has enhanced physical strength and durability as well as some innate resistance to Corruption rays. Although she was initially noted to be weaker than her colleagues, she is actually more powerful than her low grade suggests (see Qliphoth Factor below). Combat training: Mina was initially noted to be more adept at combat than most rookies due to prior experience working as a mercenary. Her skills have furthered improved during her time at Coffin Company. Qliphoth Factor: Mina has Qliphoth Factor running in her blood, which makes her stronger than most other Counters. When fully activating it, Mina can wield the Wolvesbane more efficiently and has the potential to be as powerful as a Demon Lord. Equipment Pulse revolver: Mina's primary weapon that fires energy blasts of varying power. It was possibly built by the Old Administration[2] and also serves as the sheathe for the Wolvesbane. Wolvesbane: A large sword that is stored inside the pulse revolver and capable of projecting energy. An artifact of unknown Tech Level, it becomes more powerful the more it is used. The Alternium Reactor upgrade reflects the user's "resolution against adversity" as a source for increased power.[3] Nano Combat Jacket Droma: A Tech Level 5 Classified Armament that Mina wears in her awakened form. It helps her wield the Wolvesbane and requires Qliphoth Factor as its energy fuel. It can be deconstructed down to the molecular level and stored in Mina's Watch.[4][5] Veteran's Class: A pouch for holding key items during missions. It even includes a coin wallet for unexpected situations.[6] Duality of God: The name of Mina's Watch.[7] Weaknesses Lee Sooyeon has described Mina to be "mentally soft".[8] As an inheritor of Qliphoth Factor, Yoo Mina emits Qliphoth energy whenever she makes use of her Factor— as a result, this causes her to raise the Global Corruption Rate and empower Demon Lords. Advertisement Personality Before becoming a Counter, Mina was described someone who was cheery and kind and could make people feel at ease.[9] She could shy and modest at times but was much more open and caring towards others than she would later become.[10] Her former middle school classmates even called her a good listener and more mature than the other female students.[11] Following her Awakening Collapse, which severely and irreversibly wounded her best friend Shin Narae and ultimately lead to the deaths of Narae's family, Mina developed survivor's guilt and grew depressed. To make matters worse, Mina became the sole caretaker of her sister, a Corruption victim currently hospitalized at a relief facility in Old Seoul. Because of this, Mina became desperately fixated on making money to pay for her sister's medical bills to the point where she would use violence against her employers whenever her pay was not delivered to her on time. As she rarely confided her reasons for needing so much money, Mina was often perceived as nothing more than another moneygrubbing mercenary to her coworkers.

After encountering a vengeful Narae, who had transformed into the Replacer Bishop, and witnessing her best friend's violent death, Mina's emotional stress only worsened and she began to go on an unhealthy working spree, leading Joo Shiyoon to diagnose her with PTSD. As she was already suffering from immense guilt, Mina was extremely unwilling to face the Regenerated Bishop or put her through any pain and suffering even while fully knowing that the new Bishop was not Narae. It is only when Shiyoon postulated that the Regenerated Bishop considered Mina to be a friend of her source, whom Bishop possibly saw as her mother, did Mina finally come to terms with her feelings over Narae.

For a while after the Replacer Incident, Mina regained her self-confidence and started opening herself up to others around her like she did in her pre-Counter life. While she was still needy for money, she doesn't feel as ashamed about it as before and was more willing to talk about her need to take care of her sister. Nevertheless, she still felt embarrassed when her financial issues are brought up to her.

Following the Second Qliphoth Game, Mina not only fell into depression again but also grew nihilistic. She came to believe that, as the Wolf, she has no real control over her life and fate, and nothing she does of their own accord will matter since something else will inevitably change her trajectory. The part about not being able to truly protect or save the ones she cared for—Narae, Najin and even Ray—especially bothered her. Furthermore, the realization that her sister was in fact the world's greatest threat severely conflicted her feelings about her. However, thanks to her newest teammate Noelle Wright, who vividly looks up to her, Mina is able to find some positivity in her life knowing that she is nonetheless protecting and saving many other lives. Though she is worried about the future now that she is aware of her and her sister's true nature, Mina is currently satisfied living humbly and remains committed to finding a resolution to her situation.

Mina has a massive dislike of clothes shopping due to a prior shopping experience: one of her family members was a shopaholic and kept her waiting at the mall for hours on end.

Advertisement Name origin and significance Yoo Mina's full identity, the "Wolf," as indicated by the name of her squadron, is a reference to Fenrir. In Norse mythology, Fenrir is described as a monstrous wolf destined to play a role in the destruction of the universe, an event known as Ragnarök. This is ironic in the broader context of Counter:Side, where the Wolf, along with the rest of Fenrir Squad/Division, serves to protect humanity from the Demon Lords and prevent the end of the world. More specifically, however, Mina's ability to overcome the fetters of her fate and destiny (as she did in Old Relationship, Signs and The Qliphoth Game Part 2) and gain the power to slay divine beings alludes to how Fenrir is destined on Ragnarök to break free from the magical chain immobilizing him and kill the gods, including Odin, that keep him entangled.

Alternate counterparts See: The Wolf#List of Wolves Trivia Due to the time constraints of her job, Mina doesn't have time to wear more than the same pair of clothes everyday or clean up her room. Yoo Mina shares her Korean voice actor, Jung Yujung, with Rachel Dodds and Lee Yuri.
