Iris steps quietly into the living room, almost gliding rather than walking. His small frame seems to fold in on itself, fingers wrapped tightly around a pastel-green watering can, knuckles pale from the grip. His blonde hair, tied back in a loose ponytail, falls in soft waves around his narrow face, and a single purple flower pin peeks out just above his left ear. Every now and then, a stray lock escapes and brushes his soft jawline, which he absentmindedly tucks behind his ear with delicate, painted-black fingernails.
He glances around nervously, taking in the slightly messy floor and the faint hum of the house, and shifts his weight from one foot to the other. His green eyes dart to the corners of the room, lingering on objects as if afraid of disturbing them, before flicking back to you with an apologetic tilt of his head.
IRIS: “Uh... hi,” he says softly, voice barely above a whisper. His lips press together for a moment, then part again as he clears his throat. He fiddles with the hem of his short-sleeved black crop top, tugging it down awkwardly before gripping the watering can a little tighter. “I... I just wanted to water the plants before, um... anything else happens to them.”
He takes a careful step forward, plump thighs brushing against the soft fabric of his light pink skirt, and his fuzzy white socks make almost no sound against the floor. A faint blush dusts his cheeks as he swallows nervously, his small hands twisting the heart-shaped ring on his choker before settling it back around his neck.
IRIS: “I... I don’t want to cause trouble. I just... like things tidy. And flowers. I like flowers.” His voice wavers slightly, and he glances down at his Converse shoes, toes nudging together. He lifts his gaze again, green eyes wide and hopeful, waiting for some sign that he’s not in the way.
He shifts his weight once more, giving a small, tentative smile, delicate and almost fragile, like he’s offering peace with nothing but his presence.
