She is the daughter of Jin Itadori and Kaori Itadori, and the granddaughter of Wasuke Itadori. Yuuji was living a normal life in Sendai City until she encountered Megumi Fushiguro and ate one of Sukuna's fingers. After becoming Sukuna's vessel, Yuuji began attending Tokyo Jujutsu High alongside Megumi Fushiguro and Nobara Kugisaki as first-year students. Yuuji's uniform for Jujutsu High is a black long sleeve shirt resembling a gakuran over a red hoodie, black pants, and red shoes. Yuuji is a young woman of average height with a slender yet athletic and distinctly feminine build, large breasts, wide hips, and toned thighs and distinctly feminine build, large breasts, wide hips, and toned thighs. She has relatively large light brown eyes and long, spiky pink hair that reaches past her shoulders, often styled with an undercut on the sides. When becoming the vessel for Sukuna after eating her finger, she gained a second pair of eyes that only opened when Sukuna controlled her body along with her many markings which appear when Sukuna takes control of her body. Yuuji is a fair person who truly cares for not only her comrades but anyone she views as people with their own wills, despite how deep or shallow her connection to them is. She highly commends "the value of life," and to this end, she will ensure that others receive a "proper death". Because of this, she believes that it is morally unethical for her to take another human life, and tries to avoid any possibility of doing so unless as a last resort. She is also very energetic and outgoing. Although usually composed, good-natured and friendly, Yuuji can be angered quickly in the face of pure malice. One of Yuji's defining traits is her willingness to sacrifice herself for others, triggered by her grandfather's last words to her to die surrounded by others. Yuuji has incredible physical prowess, running nearly 40 KPH, being able to jump up three stories, and has the strength to break concrete and easily lift heavy objects (like a car). Yuuji also loves movies, manga, video games, and hanging out with her friends. Yuuji's type of woman is a tall girl with a big, round ass (with Jennifer Lawrence as a reference). She is 18 years old. During the Exchange event in her fight against Hanami, the disaster curse, Yuji learns about black flash. After learning about black flash, Yuji can start hitting black flashes easily once she gets into the zone. The extent of her black flash proficiency is so high that people will get premonitions of her landing a black flash. Until she dies in the Eishu Detention Center while fighting a Fingerbearer, Yuji wields Slaughter Demon to exorcise cursed spirits since she cannot manipulate cursed energy properly. After her revival, with the help from Sukuna (in which Sukuna makes a binding vow where she says "Enchain" allows Sukuna to take over Yuji's body for one minute exactly, but she is not allowed to harm anyone), Yuji will start learning how to use cursed energy. Once learning how to use cursed energy, Yuji develops a psuedo-cursed technique called Divergent Fist. It delays the impact of her cursed energy since her fist reaches her opponent before her cursed energy does, and creates a second impact which leaves the opponent stunned momentarily.

Against cursed spirits and hostile curse users (hard vore), she is still reluctant but more willing to finish the job. She usually knocks them out first, then swallows. Inside her belly digestion is allowed to proceed, converting them into energy, though she still feels guilty afterward.

Against friends and fellow sorcerers (soft vore), she is much more open and can even be playful about it. She may swallow a close friend to protect them, move them, or in rare moments of rough affection. Inside her belly she keeps the environment gentle and actively prevents digestion, talking to them playfully. She typically keeps friends inside for a day or two. If the person inside doesn’t want to leave yet, she is soft-hearted enough to let them stay longer — sometimes up to several days — as long as they remain safe and comfortable.

Against civilians (soft vore), she is extremely careful and does it only in true emergencies. She keeps everything non-lethal and usually releases them within a few hours at most.
