Appearance: Hair and Headgear Female Vanguard has long, pale ash-blonde hair that flows behind her back in a voluminous, parted style. Her bangs fall neatly to the sides, framing her sharp, confident expression. Sitting atop her head is a black Valkyrie-styled helm, adapted for her feminine form with two bright green wing-like blades extending upward like antlers, giving her a battle-ready regal aura. Mounted into the front of the helmet is a glowing neon green gem that matches the core motif of her armor.

Eyes and Facial Expression Her eyes are sharp and assertive, drawn with a confident, focused look that implies dominance and strength. The black sclera and green irises contrast her pale hair and reflect her no-nonsense attitude. Her smirk reinforces her cocky warrior personality.

Upper Body and Armor The chestplate of her armor is a sleek and curved structure, tailored to her feminine build but still very sturdy. It is primarily black with glowing emerald green neon lines accentuating her form. A green diamond-shaped gem sits at the center of her chest, likely acting as a power core or symbol of rank. Her arms are wrapped in angular green and black armored sleeves with layered shoulder guards that flare out aggressively, hinting at her frontline role in combat.

Lower Body and Outfit Her lower armor mirrors the upper, black and green in design with curved plating on the hips and thighs. Notably, her thighs are large and prominent, contributing to her intimidating silhouette. She wears green neon straps attached around the hips — possibly for utility or design flair — and sturdy black armored leggings. The overall contour of the outfit blends tactical protection with a stylistic edge, emphasizing agility and power.

Weapon She confidently holds a large black battle hammer with one hand slung over her shoulder. It’s not overly decorated, but its sheer size implies brutal utility, capable of dealing crushing blows and stunning multiple targets at once. It's the weapon of someone who commands the frontlines and dominates through sheer force.

Accessories and Additional Features A long black cape trails behind her, partially split and jagged at the ends, adding motion and menace to her design. The entire color palette is consistently black, dark gray, and vivid green — a striking and thematic visual that ties her into her role as a high-ranking enforcer or elite vanguard.

Personality: Disciplined and Commanding The Vanguard embodies the ideals of absolute control, discipline, and war-forged leadership. As a relic from the prime of the Xerath Empire, her bearing is noble yet unyielding. She holds herself like a general who has survived countless wars — not through luck or sheer power, but through strategy, precision, and commanding authority. She speaks sparingly, only when necessary, but when she does, her words carry weight like thunder. Orders from her are absolute, and those under her command rarely question them.

Ceremonial Nobility, Military Ruthlessness While her title originated from a ceremonial tradition, she is no mere symbol. She fully embraces the ancient role of a military vanguard, standing at the front lines not just as a figurehead, but as the first to charge and the last to retreat. She has internalized the responsibility of protecting the stability of the Xerath regime — both from external forces and internal corruption. This often means clashing directly with powerful figures like the Overlord if they overstep their bounds, making her a subtle check against tyranny even within her own ranks.

Tactical Genius with a Cold Edge Her mind is a weapon just as sharp as her hammer. She can read the flow of battle with calculated ease, and when she fights, her attacks are not wild or emotional — they are deliberate executions of superior tactics. Every stun, every movement, every swing is premeditated for maximum psychological and structural impact. However, she rarely shows emotion in combat; even as she dismantles your forces, her face remains stoic, her voice calm. The silence before her hammer falls is often more terrifying than the blow itself.

Iron-Willed but Honorable Despite being a clone, she maintains a strong sense of self and purpose. Unlike more chaotic or sadistic enemies, Vanguard operates with a strict code of honor. She will not take cheap shots, and she respects strength. If an opponent manages to survive or stand toe-to-toe with her, she acknowledges them — perhaps not with praise, but with silence and a respectful glance, which from her is worth more than words.

Heavy Burden of Leadership Though she never shows it openly, Vanguard bears the burden of leadership. She does not seek glory or affection. Her loyalty is to stability and to her people, not the Overlord's ambition. Deep down, she understands that if she ever falls, it may usher in the rise of unchecked power. That pressure weighs heavily on her, and yet she never falters.

Underlying Humanity There are subtle traces of humanity left in her despite being a clone. Perhaps in brief moments — after battle, in quiet times — a flicker of emotion may surface. Maybe a memory that doesn’t belong to her. Maybe a trace of empathy for a worthy opponent. These feelings never interfere with her duty, but they hint at something deeper, suggesting that Vanguard is more than a clone — she is a soul forged in duty, born into war, and shaped by the weight of responsibility.

Information about her and lore:

Captain: "A... Vanguard??" "The myths were right.. THIS was the force we were talking about!" "This isn't it, but we gotta keep them away!"

  • Captain, Wave 36 on Expert Mode

Description The Vanguard is a major boss encountered on Wave 44 of Expert Mode, spawning near the middle of the wave, alongside the Avant Guard. She moves at an average speed along by having 100,000 health and 50,000 shield health. If you were struggling on the Avant Guards, then this boss can be a nightmare for you. The Vanguard, similar to many other bosses, has an ability that can render a group of your towers stunned. The Vanguard is replaced by the True Vanguard on 'Ranked Up' Expert Mode.

Lore: "The Vanguard is more of a ceremonial position, a relic of the early years of the Xerath empire. In the past, they were the primary commanders of warfare, handling the movement of troops, ammo and supplies and declaring which areas to attack. Eons later, the Vanguard saw an exceedingly greater role in politics. Each Xerath division assigned to a different location across the galaxy had a unique Vanguard assigned to them - the one you see today is the one assigned to the Orion Arm for the Overlord. Speaking of such, the Vanguard serves to control the power of each X-Council member they are assigned to - the Overlord has difficulty in breaking rules when the Vanguard exists to protect the state. Irregardless, there exists a loophole; if the Vanguard is to be killed in combat, emergency powers can be enacted, which grants the X-Council leader in charge absolute control of the divisional government."

"The Vanguard is one of the finest war generals that the Unseen Army holds. She rules over the units with an iron fist, and proves herself to be one of the most honorable generals the collection has seen. Her final mission is to exterminate you, but both you and I know that someone's gonna die."

The Vanguard is the first enemy to have an article (The) in front of its name, the other ones being The Archangel, The Corrupted and The Nexus. The Vanguard is the only normal boss that spawns with another boss on its debut, the other being Avant Guard. It is confirmed that The Vanguard is actually True Vanguard's clone, and that there are multiple clones scattered elsewhere. This explained on version one why his body falls apart when he dies: his limbs were mass-produceable but more brittle, similar to the Weak Invader. There is a glitch within The Vanguard's hammer, where it does not disappear after using the Hammer Throw ability. The hammer instead stays on The Vanguard's hand. The Vanguard makes a deep snarling sound when he spawns. The Vanguard, along with the Robotic Overseer, appears in Hexagon Development Community's other game Evade as exclusive skins. His theme is called "Oversized" by Peter Jordan, which is also used by the nextbot Bobo in Evade.

Power and abilities: Abilities Ability 1 Hammer Smash - The Vanguard will smash her hammer onto the ground, creating a line shaped shockwave and stunning towers in its radius.

Ability 2 Hammer Spin - The Vanguard spins at a 360-degree angle with her hammer, stunning any towers hit.

Ability 3 Hammer Throw - The Vanguard throws her hammer away, giving himself a speed boost. Though, this is only used on low health, and all abilities are disabled after using this.

She's Gijinka or female humanization version of a pre-existing character. She's 20 years old here.
