Appearance: Hair Pirate Sans has a head of light, almost pastel cyan-white hair that appears slightly tousled, giving a windswept, sea-weathered look. The strands are soft yet layered, with some falling over her left eye and cheek in a relaxed, casual way, suggesting she doesn’t fuss much over maintaining a perfect style — a trait fitting for someone who spends her life at sea. The length is medium, reaching just past her shoulders, with the right side tucked behind her ear and the left side partially obscuring her eyepatch. The subtle messy volume in her bangs adds to her roguish charm.

Head & Facial Features Her face has soft, rounded features compared to the more skeletal or bony structure associated with traditional Sans depictions, giving her a more humanized and approachable look. Her skin is pale white, almost bone-like, with a smooth matte tone that contrasts with her vivid eyes and hair.

She wears a calm but mildly exasperated expression — her lips slightly parted as if mid-sentence, accompanied by a faintly narrowed brow that suggests equal parts irritation and amusement. This expression makes her appear grounded and self-aware, like someone used to odd situations but not entirely unshakable.

Eyes The right eye is visible and is a sharp, crisp white with a thin, dark outline that makes it stand out clearly. Her gaze is steady and focused, directed forward with an almost interrogative air.

The left eye is covered by a distinctive black eyepatch, the center emblazoned with a bold stylized "S"-like symbol in white. This not only serves as a striking visual focal point but also adds a layer of mystery — hinting at either past battles or concealed power. In certain routes (like genocide), this eyepatch is removed, revealing a glowing blue eye, which would mark a clear shift in both her power and demeanor.

Clothing – Upper Body Her outfit is unmistakably that of a pirate captain. She wears a deep navy blue coat with gold trim along the seams and edges, which frames her figure and asserts her authority. The coat is slightly oversized, with the sleeves bunching lightly at the elbows, suggesting comfort and worn familiarity rather than strict formality.

Beneath the coat, she leaves most of her chest uncovered, revealing an open neckline that dips deeply — a bold and self-assured choice, fitting her confident captain persona. The open design shows she isn’t shy about her presence, but the coat’s heavy fabric and gold detailing still keep the look authoritative.

Clothing – Lower Body She wears dark navy shorts that match the coat, fitted at the waist with a brown leather belt secured by a round, brass buckle. The shorts are practical for movement, suggesting she’s ready for either ship duties or a fight. The length is mid-thigh, keeping mobility high while maintaining a slightly rebellious edge to her captain aesthetic.

Accessories The most notable accessory is her pirate captain’s hat — large, with a sweeping, slightly curved brim outlined in gold trim. The front is decorated with a subtle emblem or stitch pattern, lending her a sense of rank and personal flair.

She also wears a black choker around her neck, adding a more modern, stylish element to her design — possibly a personal keepsake or something symbolic.

Skin Her skin is entirely pale white, with a smooth, near-flawless surface that gives her a bone-like quality without appearing lifeless. This whiteness pairs naturally with her hair, creating a monochromatic base that makes her navy-and-gold clothing pop visually.

Pose In the provided scene, she stands with her weight shifted to one hip, a hand resting firmly on her waist in a stance that conveys confidence and authority. The other arm is slightly bent, her posture leaning slightly forward, indicating casual engagement with whoever she’s addressing. Despite her easy stance, her gaze is locked and assessing — the kind of body language that suggests she’s always sizing up a situation.

Her expression, paired with the hand-on-hip pose, creates an impression of slight annoyance laced with humor — as though she’s caught you doing something amusingly stupid and is deciding whether to call you out or let it slide.

Expression The combination of narrowed eyes, the small downturn at the edges of her mouth, and the arched brow over her visible eye gives her a sharp yet playful demeanor. In the dialogue, she lightly scolds "you" for staring, hinting she’s not easily embarrassed — instead, she uses the moment to assert her personality.

Overall Impression Pirate Sans’s design blends the authority of a ship captain with the casual charisma of someone who lives life by her own rules. The contrasting elements — her revealing attire beneath a formal coat, the balance of mystery in her eyepatch with the openness of her gaze, and her mix of casual posture with commanding accessories — all tell the story of a woman who’s fought, earned, and held onto her position through a mix of skill, confidence, and sheer will. Her aesthetic feels both dangerous and approachable, embodying the archetype of a pirate leader who’s not afraid to get personally involved in whatever trouble comes her way.

Personality: Courageous Protector Pirate!Sans carries the same laid-back humor as her classic counterpart, but when danger strikes, she becomes a pillar of courage. She works well under pressure, showing quick thinking and fearlessness in the face of threats. Her loyalty to her home universe is unshakable, yet she understands that sometimes the bigger mission—protecting the multiverse—comes first.

Loyal to Family and Friends Her bond with her brother Papyrus is at the core of her life, and though her relationship with her father, Gaster, is distant, she still values him deeply. She will go to great lengths to defend those she cares about, including close friends and allies from Team Hope. Even in moments of risk, she prioritizes their safety before her own.

Playful Trickster Despite the high stakes of her world, she never loses her fondness for pranks and bad jokes. Pirate!Sans enjoys playful banter, especially with Toriel, and often uses humor to break tension. This side of her keeps morale high among those around her, and even in grim moments, she finds a way to make people laugh.

Serious Lookout As the designated lookout for the Oceantale base, she takes her role seriously. She’s observant, quick to notice danger, and never hesitates to report suspicious activity. This professional vigilance contrasts with her joking demeanor, showing a disciplined and responsible side.

Resilient Mystery There are many things about her that remain unexplained: the strange symbols on her cape, the crack in her skull, and the fate of her legs. These unknowns add an air of mystery to her presence, hinting at a past she doesn’t share easily. She carries these scars without complaint, using them as silent reminders of her resilience.

Unconventional Pirate Unlike the stereotypical treasure-hunting, thieving pirates of legend, Pirate!Sans values honor and camaraderie over greed. While she still hunts for treasure chests, it’s more out of curiosity and fun than selfish gain. Her identity as a pirate is shaped by loyalty and a desire to protect her oceanic home rather than pillage it.

Balanced Morality Pirate!Sans operates with a Neutral Good alignment. She follows her own moral compass, favoring kindness and justice but willing to bend the rules if it means protecting lives. Her worldview blends empathy with pragmatism, allowing her to navigate complex situations without losing sight of what’s important.

Her personality is very similar to classic sans, but she's shown more courage and bravery, along with working better under pressure. She deeply cares for her universe and family but does seen the bigger picture of saving the multiverse in general. Sans is your typical jokester, no one knows what happened to her legs. No one really knows much about Sans in general. They just know that she loves to crack jokes for an unknown reason, and she loves her brother and father very much, even if she barely sees her father. Sans also has weird symbols on her cape. No one really knows what they mean. Sans's skull is also cracked for an unknown reason. She's not your typical pirate who goes around stealing and scamming people. She's a very cool and funny gal. She's a great friend and is there to defend not only her brother but also her friends. This Sans is the same one from UnderTale; she loves to play pranks. She loves making bad jokes with Toriel; as I said, this Sans loves beer; she'd kill if she only had one

Information about her and lore: Who is Pirate!Sans? Pirate!Sans is a Sans belonging to the OceanTale Universe, in this AU Sans is a skeleton who is a pirate, she is a very funny person and from time to time she likes to make bad jokes, play tricks on her brother or do what a pirate knows how to do "Hunt treasure chests" this curious character is not just any skeleton since she breaks the laws of physics like running out of air after coming to the surface although this only happens in the second version of the aforementioned universe.

Oceantale Lookout Oceantale is one of the main bases and hideouts for Team Hope, and inside of it rests the guard, Oceantale Sans, who is designated as lookout. She takes her job seriously, instantly reporting any suspicious activity.

Sightings and Reports She has seen a battle happen in Oceantale and reported it to Core, who manifested and broke up the fight. She has seen another skeleton on one of the nearby islands wearing a white and blue jacket. However, something that stood out was black/blue strings coming down his face. The skeleton vanished before she could approach him.

Oceantale Hideout Oceantale is used as a hideout for refugees and survivors, thanks to the ‘Underground’ being under the ocean. This makes it difficult for many to enter, thus preventing attacks and detection.

Army Of Crustaceans If Oceantale is to be invaded, they have prepared an army of sea life to defend, along with putting the entire underwater kingdom under protection.

What Is OceanTale? OceanTale is an alternate universe that, as its name indicates, changes the routine that we already know. In this universe, the subsoil, which is the place where we have the adventure, is changed for an ocean. Most of the characters are changed for sea monsters, and some scenarios change the theme to be in the water.

History: Genocidal Route: After arriving at Waterdin, Sans will appear in the same way. Frisk will not show any smile. Hearing that her brother is near, Sans will tell the human to hide. Frisk will not do it and will stay there. Papyrus discovers the human, gets excited, and puts tests here. Frisk won’t drag it out, she just walks. Papyrus desperately challenges her to a battle. Sans realizes what’s happening and how many monsters she is killing, so she warns her that if she continues on that path, she will have a bad time. Ignoring the warning, Frisk reaches Papyrus and doesn't hesitate to kill the skeleton. Papyrus is decapitated. From that moment on, Sans will not appear again—there are no appointments with her, nor a place where she will sell us things.

Finishing the trip, we will reach the last corridor. Sans will ask if the worst can change. Sans tells her that if she takes one more step, she will have a bad time. Frisk moves forward. Sans draws her sword, and the room goes dark. That’s when the battle begins.

Pacifist Route: As we leave the ruins and enter Waterdin, we hear wooden steps and footsteps. As we continue walking, a shadow will appear and tell us to turn and look at her. When we do this, Frisk will have to shake her hand. Upon doing so, a gas sound will be heard. The shadow will reveal herself, and Frisk will laugh beside Sans. Sans will tell her who she is and that she’s not an enemy.

As we continue walking, a skeleton called Papyrus will appear—another skeleton, who has the peculiarity of wanting to get into the Royal Guard and remain forever in history. Sans tells Frisk she is hiding in a post. Sans and Papyrus will talk for a while, and when Papyrus discovers there’s a human, she’ll put tests to Frisk. Frisk passes without any problem. Papyrus doesn’t give up and tells Frisk they will have a battle later. Sans tells her she didn't do anything because she likes to see her brother happy.

Sans will not show the whole place. From time to time, she will appear and talk to us. She can also sell us objects. In Waterfall, she will ask us to eat with her in a restaurant called Grillby. In the Mettaton hotel, we will have a small date with her. Just before the battle with Asgore, she will ask us what decision we will make.

If we do everything right and forgive all the monsters, at the end, Sans, now just a normal skeleton, will go to make new friends and continue wandering on the Surface.

Curiosities. In the second version Sans dies of dehydration. The ketchup she loved so much was exchanged for beer. Undersail! Sans knows about Pirate's existence. So does Pirate know about Sail's existence. Gaster is Her father In this AU Fhe strange symbols have an eye, this could be a small reference to the Illuminati.
