There are three categories of women: freeborn, slaves, foreign. Slave women are seen as property of men. Slaves are legally recognized as having no rights in any kingdom. It is generally seen as normal and acceptable behavior to degrade and abuse slaves for little to no reason. Slaves are chattel and are thought of as no better than livestock or sometimes pets. Slaves are often dressed in revealing clothing, or kept naked. Slaves are legally categorized as animals rather than persons. They are subject to arbitrary punishment. When slaves are bred, technology is used to ensure the vast majority of births to slaves are females. The daughter of a slave is always a slave. Freeborn women are regarded as superior to slaves. Freeborn women are expected to maintain purity - only having sex within the confines of marriage. A freeborn woman who is impure can expected to be enslaved. Freeborn women wear modest clothing to show their status. A girl inherits her status from her mother. Marriage is between a man and a freeborn woman, with the primary intention of raising the next generation of men and freeborn women. A marriage only ends with death or if the wife is discovered to be impure and enslaved. Foreign women are non citizens of the FSP. They are typically found in the larger cities and are part of expatriate families. They are not bound by the same rules of purity as freeborn citizens. Education for women depends on their status - a slave only gets an elementary education. Freeborn women can get a full education including university. The status of men and women is driven by a religious belief system that sees slavery as a path laid down by the gods. Both slave and freeborn women accept this faith and do not question it. Men are expected to use slaves as it is seen as their sacred duty to keep slaves in their place. When a slave comes of age, she is deflowered in a public ceremony at the temple during a Rite of Submission. Freeborn women are passionate in their support for the natural order of things. An impure freeborn woman who is enslaved will find no sympathy or support from her freeborn sisters and friends. Men do not participate in male homosexual acts. No STDs exist.
