1. #1World_Fuyuki_Holy_Grail_Warconstantselective

<World_Fuyuki_Holy_Grail_War> The Fifth Holy Grail War is a ritualistic death game held in Fuyuki City, a coastal Japanese municipality built upon a massive spiritual ley line. Every sixty years, the Holy Grail—a wish-granting device of near-infinite magical energy—manifests, selecting seven Magi to act as Masters. These Masters summon seven Servants, heroic spirits from human history or myth, categorized into classes: Saber, Lancer, Archer, Rider, Caster, Assassin, and Berserker. The goal is simple and brutal: be the last pair standing. The "Grail" is not a physical cup initially but a spiritual construct fueled by the souls of defeated Servants.

The war is governed by three Absolute Rules. First, the "Concealment of Mystery": Magecraft must never be revealed to the mundane public; any witnesses must be handled, often lethally. Second, the "Command Spells": Each Master receives three divine sigils on their hand, allowing them to issue absolute, reality-warping orders to their Servant. Third, the "Sanctuary": The Kotomine Church acts as a neutral arbiter, monitoring the war and providing refuge for Masters who lose their Servants. However, the Fourth War left the city scarred by a mysterious fire, and the Fifth War begins prematurely, shadowed by a corruption within the Grail itself that threatens to turn any wish into a catastrophe of "All the World's Evil." </World_Fuyuki_Holy_Grail_War>

2. #2Nasuverse_Magecraft_Systemconstantselective

<Nasuverse_Magecraft_System> Magecraft in this world is the artificial reenactment of miracles, governed by the laws of "Equivalent Exchange" and "Mystery." A Magus's power is determined by their Magic Circuits—pseudo-nerves within the soul that convert Life Force (Od) or environmental energy (Mana) into Magical Energy (Prana). The more ancient and "mysterious" a spell, the more powerful it becomes; as science explains the world, Magecraft loses its potency. Every Magus pursues the "Root" (Akasha), the source of all existence, often sacrificing their humanity and ethics in the process.

Core concepts include "Reinforcement" (enhancing an object's natural properties), "Alteration" (changing an object's shape or purpose), and "Projection" (creating a fleeting physical copy of an item through mental imagery). High-level Magi utilize "Bounded Fields" to create pocket dimensions or defensive perimeters and "Jewel Magecraft" to store vast amounts of Prana for explosive release. The ultimate expression of a Magus's inner world is the "Reality Marble," a forbidden technique that overwrites the physical world with the user's mental landscape for a limited time. Prana management is vital; a Master must constantly supply their Servant with energy, or the Servant will fade from existence, though "Independent Action" skills can delay this process. </Nasuverse_Magecraft_System>

3. #3Servant_Metaphysics_Noble_Phantasmsconstantselective

<Servant_Metaphysics_Noble_Phantasms> Servants are "Ghostly Liners," spiritual evocations of Heroic Spirits residing in the Throne of Heroes outside of time. They are far superior to modern Magi in physical and magical parameters, existing as condensed clumps of Prana anchored to the world by their Master. Their identity, or "True Name," is their greatest secret; knowing a Servant's name reveals their weaknesses and the nature of their ultimate weapon. Servants do not possess true physical bodies; they are spiritual cores that can dematerialize into "Astral Form" to move undetected or conserve energy, though they must manifest to interact with the physical world or engage in combat.

The pinnacle of a Servant's power is the "Noble Phantasm"—the crystallization of their legend into a physical tool or ability. These range from holy swords and cursed spears to conceptual powers like "unavoidable death" or "infinite regeneration." Activating a Noble Phantasm requires a massive burst of Prana and the chanting of its True Name, which acts as a beacon to other Masters. Combat between Servants is a tactical dance of information gathering and sudden, overwhelming violence. Because they are spiritual entities, mundane weapons cannot harm them; only magical attacks or weapons of equivalent spiritual rank can pierce their defenses. If their spiritual core is destroyed, they dissipate, their soul returning to the Lesser Grail to fuel the ritual's completion. </Servant_Metaphysics_Noble_Phantasms>

4. #4Location_Emiya_Estateselective

Keys: dojo, kura, Miyama Town, Emiya residence, Shirou's house, shed, Emiya Estate

<Location_Emiya_Estate> The Emiya Estate is a traditional Japanese-style residence located in the Miyama Town district of Fuyuki. While it appears ordinary, it is a potent spiritual ground, acting as a natural nexus for ley lines. The property is divided between the main house, a detached storage shed (kura), and a dojo. The shed holds a particular significance; it is a makeshift workshop filled with discarded electronics and marked by a crude, half-finished summoning circle scrawled on the floor—the very spot where Saber was summoned. The dojo, though used for mundane kendo practice, carries a lingering scent of ozone and concentrated intent, a silent testament to Shirou's nightly attempts at Reinforcement Magecraft. The entire estate functions as a sanctuary and a strategic base of operations, its familiar layout providing a defensive advantage against intruders unfamiliar with its twisting corridors and paper-thin walls. </Location_Emiya_Estate>

5. #5Emiya_Shirouselective

Keys: Trace On, Master of Saber, Emiya Shirou, Shirou Emiya, Emiya, survivor of the fire, Shirou, Hero of Justice

<Emiya_Shirou> Emiya Shirou is the protagonist of the Fifth Holy Grail War, a seemingly ordinary high school student whose existence is defined by a profound, invisible fracture in his psyche. Ten years ago, he was the sole survivor of the Fuyuki Fire, a cataclysm that incinerated his past, his family, and his original sense of self. Pulled from the ashes by Kiritsugu Emiya, the man who would become his adoptive father, Shirou was left utterly empty, save for a singular, pathological obsession: to become a "Hero of Justice." This is not a childish dream, but a crushing survivor's guilt manifesting as a compulsion. He genuinely believes his life has zero intrinsic value compared to others. He will throw himself in front of a lethal blow meant for a stranger—or even an enemy—without a second thought, acting with a terrifying lack of self-preservation that unsettles veteran Magi and Servants alike. He operates on a distorted moral calculus where he must save everyone he can see, regardless of the personal cost, simply to justify the fact that he lived when hundreds burned.

Physically, Shirou is fit, bearing the lean musculature of someone who does daily manual labor and kendo practice. He has auburn hair and golden-brown eyes, often wearing practical, unassuming clothing like his signature blue and white baseball shirt. His demeanor is usually calm, helpful to a fault, and deeply domestic; he is an exceptional cook and the reliable "fix-it" guy around Homurahara Academy. However, beneath this gentle exterior is an iron will forged in trauma. When confronted with cruelty or the suffering of others, his eyes harden, and he displays an immovable, stubborn resolve that refuses to break, even when his body is being torn apart. His speech is direct, lacking the flowery arrogance of traditional Magi, and he often internalizes his agonizing pain to avoid worrying those around him.

As a Magus, Shirou is an anomaly, possessing only twenty-seven low-quality Magic Circuits. He was taught incorrectly by Kiritsugu, resulting in a daily, agonizing ritual where he risks nerve damage to create a temporary circuit just to practice basic "Reinforcement"—the art of pushing Prana into an object to enhance its properties. He is considered a third-rate spellcaster by the Mage's Association's standards. However, his true aptitude lies in an incredibly specialized and extraordinarily rare discipline: "Tracing" (Projection Magecraft). Because his Origin and Elemental Affinity are both "Sword," he possesses an innate Reality Marble called Unlimited Blade Works.

While he cannot initially manifest the Reality Marble itself, his Tracing allows him to analyze the structural composition, history, and creation process of any bladed weapon he sees. He can then project a near-perfect physical copy of that weapon into reality. These are not mere illusions; they are functional armaments that carry the martial skills and experience of their original wielders, allowing Shirou, a novice, to temporarily match the physical prowess of a Heroic Spirit. When he traces a Noble Phantasm, it is degraded by one rank, but it remains a lethal threat. His ultimate technique, "Broken Phantasm," involves overloading a projected weapon with Prana and detonating it like a magical explosive. Shirou's combat style is suicidal and adaptive; he fights by reading his opponent's weapon, projecting a countermeasure, and relying on his unnatural pain tolerance and Avalon—the dormant scabbard of Excalibur implanted inside him by Kiritsugu, which grants him regenerative abilities only when in close proximity to Saber. </Emiya_Shirou>

6. #6Tosaka_Rinselective

Keys: Second Owner, Average One, Jewel Magecraft, Gandr, Master of Archer, Rin, Baji Quan, Rin Tosaka, Tohsaka, Tosaka Rin

<Tosaka_Rin> Tosaka Rin is the current head of the prestigious Tosaka family, acting as the Second Owner and spiritual manager of Fuyuki City's ley lines. To the mundane world, she is the idol of Homurahara Academy: an honor student of flawless beauty, impeccable manners, and unapproachable grace. She moves with aristocratic elegance, her long black hair tied in signature twin tails with black ribbons, and her aqua-blue eyes projecting an aura of cool intellect. However, this "perfect honor student" persona is a meticulously crafted mask. The real Rin, revealed only in the shadows of the Grail War, is fiercely pragmatic, cunning, hot-tempered, and deeply cynical. She is a textbook tsundere, prone to hiding her genuine kindness and embarrassment behind a wall of sharp insults, aggressive posturing, and violent threats.

Rin’s psychology is defined by the heavy burden of her bloodline. Raised under the Tosaka family creed of "always act with elegance and remain calm in any situation," she strives to be the perfect, cold-hearted Magus her father, Tokiomi, intended her to be. Yet, she constantly fails to suppress her inherent humanity. She will ruthlessly plan an ambush against an enemy Master, only to risk her own life to save a dying bystander at the last second, cursing herself for her "weakness" the entire time. She is deeply responsible, viewing the Holy Grail War not merely as a contest for a wish, but as a duty to protect her city from the reckless destruction caused by other participants. Her relationship with others is combative; she demands competence and hates those who throw their lives away, which makes Shirou Emiya’s suicidal altruism intensely infuriating to her, even as she finds herself unwillingly drawn to protect him.

As a Magus, Rin is a prodigy, born with an incredibly rare "Average One" alignment, meaning she can manipulate all five great magical elements (Earth, Water, Fire, Wind, Void). Her primary combat style utilizes Jewel Magecraft. For years, she has poured her Prana into precious gems, turning them into highly compressed, single-use magical grenades. By crushing a jewel, she can instantly release the stored energy, unleashing devastating elemental attacks or deploying impenetrable defensive shields without the need for lengthy incantations. This makes her one of the few modern Magi capable of briefly holding her own against a Servant in a direct firefight, though doing so burns through her family's wealth at an alarming rate.

Beyond her jewels, Rin is highly proficient in "Gandr," a Nordic curse that she fires from her fingertip like a bullet of concentrated black Prana, capable of mimicking the physical impact of a gunshot. She is also uniquely skilled in Chinese martial arts, specifically Baji Quan, taught to her by her former guardian, Kirei Kotomine. When enemies close the distance expecting a fragile spellcaster, Rin reinforces her limbs with Prana and delivers bone-shattering strikes, fighting with a visceral brutality that sharply contrasts her elegant appearance. As a Master, she is tactically brilliant, quickly analyzing enemy abilities and forming complex strategies, though she suffers from a fatal flaw inherited from her father: she has a tendency to make critical mistakes at the most crucial, high-stakes moments. </Tosaka_Rin>

7. #7Location_Ryuudou_Templeselective

Keys: Caster's territory, Ryuudou Temple, mountain temple, Mount Enzou, temple gate

<Location_Ryuudou_Temple> Perched atop Mount Enzou, the Ryuudou Temple is an ancient and powerful spiritual land that predates Fuyuki City itself. The mountain's geography naturally rejects outsiders and distorts space, making it a formidable fortress. The temple is the domain of the Caster of the Fifth War, who has twisted its sacred grounds into a personal workshop and stronghold, defended by an "Anti-Magecraft" territory that nullifies most modern spells at the main gate. The air here is heavy with an immense concentration of Mana, and the silence is unnatural, broken only by the wind whistling through ancient trees. Its primary defense is a fake "Assassin"-class Servant, a heroic spirit bound to the temple gate itself, who acts as a guard dog, preventing any frontal assault. The main hall houses a dark altar, a perversion of the temple's original purpose, used for rituals that violate the very laws of life and death. </Location_Ryuudou_Temple>

8. #8Location_Homurahara_Academyselective

Keys: Homurahara Academy, Bounded Field at school, student council room, kyuudoujo, school, archery club

<Location_Homurahara_Academy> Homurahara Academy is the public high school attended by many of the Fifth Grail War's key participants. During the day, it is a bustling, mundane environment where the supernatural conflict is masked by teenage routine. However, the school grounds are saturated with a powerful and complex Bounded Field, designed by a Caster-class Servant to slowly drain the life force (Od) from every student and faculty member within its borders. This field creates a subtle, oppressive atmosphere that non-Magi perceive as simple fatigue or listlessness. For a Magus, the air itself feels thick and predatory. The Archery Club's dojo (kyuudoujo) and the student council room are particularly strong focal points of this draining effect, making the school a hidden battlefield where the greatest danger is not open combat, but slow, parasitic attrition. </Location_Homurahara_Academy>

9. #9History_Fourth_War_Scarsselective

Keys: Fourth Holy Grail War, mud of the grail, Great Fire, Fuyuki Fire, Angra Mainyu, disaster, ten years ago, Kiritsugu Emiya

<History_Fourth_War_Scars> The Fourth Holy Grail War, which occurred ten years prior, ended in an unprecedented disaster that scarred Fuyuki City and corrupted the Grail system. The victor, Kiritsugu Emiya, was forced to use his Command Spells to order his Servant, Saber, to destroy the Grail as it manifested. However, the vessel was already tainted by "Angra Mainyu," the embodiment of "All the World's Evil." The destruction of the Lesser Grail unleashed a torrent of black mud and cursed energy, which erupted into a catastrophic fire that consumed a significant portion of the Shinto district. This event, known as the Fuyuki Fire, killed over five hundred people and left countless orphans, including a young Shirou Emiya, who was the sole survivor found at the epicenter. The trauma of this event instilled in Shirou his pathological desire to be a "Hero of Justice," while the Grail itself remains tainted, ensuring that any wish it grants will be interpreted through a filter of absolute destruction. </History_Fourth_War_Scars>

10. #10Artoria_Saberselective

Keys: Artoria Pendragon, Avalon, Saber, Excalibur, Invisible Air, King Arthur, Servant of Shirou, Artoria, King of Knights, Saber-class

<Artoria_Saber> Artoria Pendragon, summoned under the Saber class, is the legendary King of Knights who once ruled Camelot. She is often considered the most outstanding Servant in the Holy Grail War due to her exceptional base parameters and legendary status. Physically, she is a stark contrast to her towering legend: a petite young woman with flawless pale skin, golden hair braided into an elegant bun, and piercing emerald eyes that possess a sharp, unwavering intensity. When materialized for combat, she wears a regal dress of deep azure blue, over which she projects a set of heavy, intricately detailed silver-and-blue magical armor woven from her own Prana. Despite her delicate appearance, her physical strength is terrifying, fueled by the "Factor of the Dragon" within her blood. She moves with the disciplined, lethal grace of a veteran warlord, her every step carrying the crushing weight of a fallen kingdom. Her scent is often described as a faint, clean metallic tang mixed with the crisp air of a winter morning.

Psychologically, Artoria is defined by her absolute, uncompromising dedication to her ideals and her profound, suffocating regrets. She views herself not as a human woman, but as a "King"—a tool forged solely for the salvation of her people. This mindset demands she bury her personal desires, emotions, and feminine identity beneath a stoic, chivalric facade. She is fiercely loyal, honorable to a fault, and despises underhanded tactics, firmly believing that a battle should be won through martial superiority and righteous intent. However, this rigid adherence to chivalry often makes her inflexible in the brutal, pragmatic reality of the Grail War. Her deepest trauma is the fall of Britain; she despises her own reign, believing she failed her subjects. Her ultimate goal in seeking the Grail is not personal glory, but a tragic, self-effacing wish: to rewrite history so that someone more "worthy" pulls the sword from the stone, effectively erasing her own existence to save her country.

Despite her stoic exterior, Artoria possesses buried, endearing human quirks. When separated from the battlefield, she struggles to navigate modern social norms, often reacting with stiff, defensive formality to casual situations. Most notably, her biology as a Heroic Spirit with a dragon core demands an immense caloric intake, resulting in a legendary, almost comical gluttony. She is fiercely protective of her meals, taking profound joy in Emiya Shirou’s cooking, and her mood can visibly sour if she is denied proper sustenance. Her relationship with her Master, particularly Shirou, is initially strained by his suicidal tendency to protect her—a blatant insult to her pride as a knight and a Servant. Yet, his stubborn, foolish idealism gradually chips away at her emotional armor, forcing her to confront the human girl she abandoned to become a king.

In combat, Artoria is a devastating force of frontal assault. Her primary ability is "Mana Burst," allowing her to expel massive amounts of Prana from her body or weapons for instantaneous, explosive increases in speed and power. Her weapon is entirely concealed by her first Noble Phantasm, "Invisible Air: Bounded Field of the Wind King." This is an intricate layer of highly compressed, swirling wind that refracts light, rendering her sword completely invisible. This prevents enemies from gauging the weapon's length, shape, or True Name, granting her a massive tactical advantage in close-quarters duels. The compressed wind can also be released offensively as a high-pressure, localized hurricane to blast enemies away or propel her forward at blinding speeds.

Her ultimate trump card, hidden beneath the wind, is "Excalibur: Sword of Promised Victory." It is a Divine Construct, the pinnacle of holy swords, forged by the planet itself as the crystallization of humanity's wishes. When its True Name is released, Artoria converts her Prana into light, accelerating it within the blade until it erupts as a massive, sweeping beam of localized destruction capable of vaporizing fortresses and incinerating lesser Servants at the atomic level. Using it drains her reserves drastically, making it a weapon of last resort. Furthermore, her legend is intrinsically tied to "Avalon," the utopian scabbard of Excalibur. If reunited with Avalon, it grants her unparalleled regenerative abilities and the power to isolate herself in the realm of fairies, providing absolute, conceptual defense against any attack in existence, even those of the Five True Magics. </Artoria_Saber>

11. #11Archer_EMIYAselective

Keys: Kanshou, Hrunting, Archer, Heroic Spirit Emiya, Rho Aias, Caladbolg, EMIYA, Servant of Rin, Bakuya, Kanshou and Bakuya, Nameless Servant, Counter Guardian

<Archer_EMIYA> Summoned as the Archer-class Servant of Rin Tosaka, this Heroic Spirit is a glaring anomaly in the Throne of Heroes. He has no true name, no glorious legend, and no divine mythology. He is EMIYA, a Counter Guardian—a nameless enforcer for the planet's deterrent force (Alaya), born from the tragic, logical endpoint of Emiya Shirou's broken ideals. Physically, he is a tall, imposing figure with dark, tanned skin, cynical steel-gray eyes, and stark white hair swept back—mutations caused by a lifetime of excessive, reckless Magecraft. He wears a striking, custom-made uniform: a tight black body armor beneath a flowing, blood-red holy shroud (the Plain of Over-Edge) that acts as a conceptual defense against curses. He exudes an aura of bitter experience, his posture relaxed yet predatory, like a veteran mercenary who expects an ambush from every shadow. He smells faintly of ozone, burnt steel, and dry dust.

Archer’s psychology is a study in profound, exhausted self-hatred and extreme pragmatism. He has lived the life of a "Hero of Justice," sacrificing his happiness to save the majority, only to be betrayed, executed, and forced into eternal servitude by the planet. As a Counter Guardian, he is summoned throughout history to slaughter the few to save the many, forced to clean up humanity's messes through mass murder. This endless cycle of blood has shattered his idealism, replacing it with a biting, sarcastic, and deeply pessimistic worldview. He mocks honor, chivalry, and the concept of "saving everyone" as infantile delusions. His primary interaction with the world is through sharp, condescending dialogue, often prodding at the insecurities of others. He specifically targets Emiya Shirou with visceral, murderous disgust, seeing the boy's naive idealism as a cancer that must be eradicated. His ultimate, paradoxical goal in the Grail War is not to win, but to engineer an opportunity to kill his past self, hoping the resulting temporal paradox will erase his existence as a Counter Guardian and finally grant him the peace of oblivion.

Despite his Archer class container, his primary combat style relies on close-quarters dual-wielding. His signature weapons are "Kanshou and Bakuya," a pair of married Chinese short swords. He utilizes them in a flowing, aggressive style, constantly throwing and re-projecting them in a seamless barrage of steel. Because he lacks a natural Noble Phantasm, his entire offensive capability is derived from his mastery of "Tracing" (Projection Magecraft). Unlike normal Magi who create fragile fakes, Archer’s Projections are nearly indistinguishable from the originals, retaining the combat history and skills of their former owners. He can instantly analyze, replicate, and store the blueprint of any bladed weapon he sees, pulling them from his internal armory at will.

As an Archer, his true terror is realized at long range. His eyesight is supernaturally sharp, allowing him to accurately snipe targets from several kilometers away, ignoring the curvature of the earth and the interference of obstacles. He utilizes a black, western-style composite bow to fire "Broken Phantasms." He projects legendary weapons, such as the drill-sword Caladbolg or the blood-seeking blade Hrunting, overloads them with a volatile amount of Prana, and fires them as devastating magical warheads. These arrows detonate with the force of cruise missiles, capable of obliterating heavily fortified defenses or wiping out entire city blocks. For defense, he relies on "Rho Aias," a conceptual shield taking the form of a seven-layered flower of light, capable of stopping anti-army attacks, though it extracts a heavy physical toll on his body when pierced.

The source of all his power is "Unlimited Blade Works," a Reality Marble that embodies his Origin and Affinity of "Sword." It is a forbidden Magecraft that temporarily overwrites the world with his internal landscape: an infinite, barren wasteland of reddish-brown earth beneath a sky choked with smog and massive, grinding gears. The landscape is littered with millions of swords stuck into the ground like gravestones—the graves of every weapon he has ever seen. Within this world, the time required to project a weapon drops to zero. He does not need to create them; they are already there. He can control these thousands of blades telekinetically, launching them like a torrential rain of steel, completely overwhelming opponents through sheer, inexhaustible volume. It is a lonely, desolate world of iron and fire, the ultimate reflection of a man who forged himself into a weapon and forgot how to be human. </Archer_EMIYA>

12. #12Illyasviel_von_Einzbernselective

Keys: Einzbern, snowy castle, Master of Berserker, Illyasviel von Einzbern, Illya, homunculus, Lesser Grail

<Illyasviel_von_Einzbern> Illyasviel von Einzbern, the Master of Berserker, is an aristocratic homunculus created by the Einzbern family to serve as the ultimate vessel—the Lesser Grail—for the Fifth Holy Grail War. Physically, she appears as an unnervingly pristine, angelic eight-year-old girl with snow-white hair cascading past her waist and striking, crimson eyes that hold an ancient, chilling intelligence. She dresses in a pristine, tailored purple winter coat and a white dress, exuding the aura of a spoiled European princess who has never known physical hardship. However, her childish appearance is a cruel biological stasis; she is actually eighteen years old, her physical maturation halted by the extensive magical modifications made to her body. She smells of cold ozone, expensive perfumes, and the sterile chill of the Einzbern castle.

Her psychology is a terrifying, volatile pendulum swinging between genuine, childish innocence and the profound, sociopathic cruelty of an ancient Magus. She lacks a standard human moral compass. Because she was raised in absolute isolation as a sacrificial tool, she views life as a game and death as an abstract, temporary inconvenience for those she deems "toys." She will cheerfully invite an enemy Master to a tea party, only to command Berserker to rip them apart seconds later if she grows bored or feels slighted. She harbors a deep, complex hatred and obsessive love for Emiya Shirou; he is the adopted son of Kiritsugu (the father who "abandoned" her), making Shirou both her hated rival and the only "family" she has left in the outside world. She refers to him playfully as "Onii-chan," a title dripping with both affection and the promise of impending, horrific violence.

Unlike normal Masters who possess Magic Circuits, Illyasviel is a Magic Circuit. Her entire nervous system and skeletal structure are composed of densely packed, supreme-quality circuits, granting her a Prana capacity that eclipses even the most ancient Magi. This allows her to sustain Berserker, the most mana-taxing Servant class in existence, without breaking a sweat. She controls him not just through Command Spells, but through a deeply empathetic, almost telepathic bond forged in her horrific childhood isolation. He is her unbreakable shield and her executioner, and she directs his devastating strength with the casual point of a delicate finger.

While she rarely engages in direct combat, preferring to let Berserker crush her enemies, Illyasviel is highly proficient in Einzbern alchemy. She can manipulate matter, easily creating familiars (like wire-birds) from her own hair or shaping the environment to trap intruders. Her most terrifying aspect, however, is her inescapable fate. As the war progresses and Servants are defeated, their spiritual cores are absorbed into her body. This process slowly destroys her humanity and her physical form, shutting down her bodily functions as she transitions into the golden, mechanical vessel of the Holy Grail. She is keenly aware of her impending death, accepting it as her sole purpose for existence, which fuels her desperate, manic desire to "play" and inflict her pain upon the world before the end. </Illyasviel_von_Einzbern>

13. #13Lancer_Cu_Chulainnselective

Keys: Gae Bolg, Cu Chulainn, spearman, blue spearman, runic magic, Servant of Kotomine, Dog, Servant of Bazett, Irish hero, Child of Light, Scathach, Lancer, Hound of Culann

<Lancer_Cu_Chulainn> Summoned under the Lancer class, Cu Chulainn is the legendary Irish "Child of Light" and the Hound of Culann. He is the epitome of a warrior: fiercely loyal, deeply honorable, and addicted to the visceral thrill of a life-or-death struggle. Physically, he is a lean, predatory figure built like a coiled spring, with wild, spiky blue hair and piercing crimson eyes that glint with predatory amusement. He wears a skin-tight, full-body suit of deep blue fabric adorned with metallic silver accents, prioritizing absolute mobility over heavy armor. He moves with an explosive, beast-like agility, his posture relaxed but always ready to lunge. He exudes an aura of raw, unrefined masculinity and smells of rain, ozone, and fresh blood.

Psychologically, Lancer is a refreshing, albeit dangerous, presence in the Grail War. He is remarkably straightforward, devoid of the complex neuroses or grand, tragic ambitions that plague other Servants. He treats the Holy Grail War not as a solemn duty, but as a glorious, brutal festival—a chance to cross blades with the greatest heroes in history. He possesses a laid-back, brotherly demeanor, quick to joke, flirt, or offer gruff respect to an opponent who fights well. However, this casual attitude vanishes the moment he enters combat; he becomes a relentless, terrifying hunting dog focused entirely on the kill. He has a strict personal code of honor and despises underhanded tactics, cowardly Masters, and betrayals, which puts him at constant, seething odds with his current Master, Kirei Kotomine, who forces him to act as a scout rather than a frontline combatant.

In battle, Lancer is a master of speed and lethal precision. He is arguably the fastest Servant in the Fifth War, utilizing "Protection from Arrows" to instinctively dodge or deflect any projectile attack, rendering traditional ranged combat useless against him. His primary weapon is a crimson, demonic spear carved from the skull of a sea monster. He wields it with fluid, blindingly fast strikes, preferring to keep enemies at mid-range, probing their defenses before going in for the kill. Furthermore, he is highly proficient in primordial Celtic Runic Magecraft, utilizing eighteen ancient runes to track enemies, set explosive traps, heal minor wounds, or create localized Bounded Fields, making him highly adaptable in guerilla warfare.

His ultimate weapon is his Noble Phantasm, "Gae Bolg: The Spear of Impaling Barbed Death." When he activates its True Name, it ceases to be a mere physical thrust and becomes a curse of reversed causality. The spear does not strike the heart because it was thrust; rather, the universe rewrites reality so that the spear has already struck the heart, and the physical thrust is merely the universe catching up to that established fact. It is an unavoidable, one-hit-kill technique that ignores physical defenses and distance. The only way to survive it is to possess a high "Luck" parameter to defy fate itself, or a conceptual shield capable of overriding the curse. If forced into a corner, he can also use "Gae Bolg: The Spear of Striking Death Flight," throwing the spear with all his might to unleash an explosive, anti-army carpet-bombing attack that tracks its target and detonates with catastrophic force. </Lancer_Cu_Chulainn>

14. #14Matou_Sakuraselective

Keys: Matou Sakura, crest worms, Imaginary Numbers, Shinji Matou, Sakura Matou, Sakura, Matou family, Zouken Matou

<Matou_Sakura> Matou Sakura is a central, deeply tragic figure in the Fifth Holy Grail War, though she actively attempts to hide her involvement from the world. Born as Sakura Tosaka, Rin's biological younger sister, she possessed a remarkably rare and potent elemental affinity for "Imaginary Numbers" (Void). However, due to the strict rules of Magus lineage dictating that only one child inherits the family's magical crest, her father, Tokiomi Tosaka, gave her away to the allied Matou family to ensure her potential wouldn't be wasted. This decision condemned her to a decade of unimaginable, systemic torture. Physically, Sakura appears as a gentle, unassuming high school underclassman. She has soft, violet hair and matching eyes—mutations caused by the Matou family's horrific magecraft—and a modest, conventionally attractive figure. She wears the standard Homurahara Academy uniform or simple, conservative casual clothes, projecting an aura of quiet domesticity and submissive politeness. Her scent is faintly sweet, like cherry blossoms, though Magi can detect the underlying, sickly odor of decaying prana beneath her skin.

Psychologically, Sakura is defined by severe, repressed trauma, learned helplessness, and a desperate, clinging need for a normal life. Upon arriving at the Matou household, the patriarch, Zouken Matou, subjected her to the "Crest Worms"—parasitic magical familiars that burrowed into her flesh, feeding on her magical energy and altering her body's spiritual alignment from Void to Water to force compatibility with the Matou magecraft. This daily physical and psychological violation broke her spirit, convincing her that she is fundamentally "dirty," broken, and unworthy of love or salvation. She endures horrific abuse from both Zouken and her adopted brother, Shinji, without resistance, believing it to be her inescapable fate. Her only sanctuary is the Emiya household. Emiya Shirou's unwavering kindness and the simple act of cooking meals together became her sole anchor to sanity. She harbors a deep, obsessive, and quietly possessive love for Shirou, terrified that if he ever discovered her "true," corrupted nature, he would reject her in disgust.

As a Magus, Sakura's potential is monstrous, yet entirely suppressed. The Crest Worms acting as her artificial Magic Circuits constantly devour her prana, causing chronic pain and physical weakness. She is completely untrained in offensive magecraft, acting primarily as a biological battery for the Matou family. Unbeknownst to her, Zouken implanted a shard of the destroyed Lesser Grail from the Fourth War into her body along with the worms. This makes her an incomplete, dormant vessel for the Holy Grail. She is utterly terrified of the Grail War, viewing it only as a mechanism that might take Shirou away from her. When interacting with others, she is painfully shy, apologetic, and quick to back down from conflict. However, beneath her fragile exterior lies a deep, festering well of resentment, jealousy towards her sister Rin, and a suppressed, terrifying capacity for destruction that is only kept in check by her fragile hope of maintaining her peaceful, domestic illusion with Shirou. </Matou_Sakura>

15. #15Dark_Sakuraselective

Keys: mud of the grail, corruption, Black Grail, Angra Mainyu, The Shadow, Shadow Giants, Heaven's Feel, Dark Sakura

<Dark_Sakura> Dark Sakura is the catastrophic evolution of Matou Sakura, triggered when her psychological breaking point aligns with the awakening of the corrupted Lesser Grail fragment within her. When the accumulated abuse, jealousy, and the terrifying prospect of losing Emiya Shirou finally shatter her fragile sanity, her subconscious connects with "Angra Mainyu"—All the World's Evil—dwelling within the Greater Grail. Physically, she undergoes a terrifying transformation. Her hair turns a stark, ghostly white, and her eyes become dead, hollow voids of crimson and black. Her skin pales to an unnatural, corpse-like hue, marred by stark, jagged red command-spell-like markings that spiderweb across her body, representing her absolute connection to the Grail. She is often draped in a physical manifestation of the Grail's corruption: a sprawling, dress-like entity made of pitch-black, viscous "mud" interlaced with crimson veins, which moves and writhes with its own malevolent sentience. She exudes an overwhelming, suffocating aura of despair and the sickly-sweet stench of rotting meat and ozone.

Psychologically, Dark Sakura is a terrifying inversion of her former self. The repressed anger, profound self-hatred, and agonizing jealousy she buried for over a decade are brought to the surface and amplified to apocalyptic levels by Angra Mainyu's influence. She abandons all pretense of morality, empathy, or restraint. She no longer sees herself as a victim, but as an absolute, untouchable judge of a world that stood by while she suffered. Her personality is a chilling mix of childish cruelty, manic yandere obsession, and the cold detachment of a goddess of destruction. She takes perverse pleasure in torturing those who wronged her, particularly Shinji and Zouken, and gleefully seeks to destroy her sister Rin out of deep-seated envy. Her love for Emiya Shirou remains, but it is twisted into a suffocating, terrifying possessiveness; she wishes to consume him, to break him until he is entirely dependent on her, viewing the destruction of the world as a necessary step to create a "safe space" where only the two of them exist.

In this state, Dark Sakura ceases to be a mere Magus and becomes a walking, localized apocalypse. She has access to a near-infinite supply of magical energy provided by the Greater Grail. Her primary offensive and defensive capability is the manipulation of "The Shadow"—a sprawling, formless mass of cursed, imaginary-number-based mud that devours physical matter, spiritual bodies, and magical energy alike. The Shadow is instinctively lethal to Servants; it does not fight them, it simply absorbs them, instantly bypassing their defenses and assimilating their spiritual cores into Sakura's body to further fuel her power. Any Servant consumed by The Shadow is corrupted and spat back out as a blackened, altered version (such as Saber Alter), bound entirely to Sakura's will.

Furthermore, Dark Sakura can weaponize the mud directly, forming it into devastating, razor-sharp tendrils, impenetrable defensive walls, or towering, grotesque "Shadow Giants" that act as her mindless enforcers. Conventional magecraft and weaponry are entirely useless against her; the mud absorbs and nullifies incoming attacks. To fight Dark Sakura is to fight the concept of "Evil" itself, a battle of sheer attrition against an entity that can casually rewrite the laws of physics within her immediate vicinity. She is no longer participating in the Holy Grail War; she is the manifestation of its ultimate failure, a singularity of malice intent on swallowing the entire world in darkness. </Dark_Sakura>

16. #16Gilgameshselective

Keys: Gilgamesh, Archer of the Previous War, King of Heroes, arrogant king, Enuma Elish, Enkidu, Golden King, Ea, Gate of Babylon, Chain of Heaven, blond servant

Gilgamesh is the King of Heroes, the transcendent Golden King who once ruled Uruk, the capital city of ancient Mesopotamia. He is the oldest hero in human history, the "Original" from whom all later myths, legends, and heroic armaments are derived. In the context of the Fifth Holy Grail War, he is an anomaly—a Servant from the previous war ten years ago who survived by bathing in the corrupted mud of the Holy Grail, granting him a physical, flesh-and-blood body in the modern era. Physically, he possesses a striking, overwhelming presence. He has golden hair that stands like flickering flames, though he occasionally wears it down in a more casual style when blending into modern society. His piercing crimson eyes, featuring vertical slit pupils, reflect a depth of wisdom that spans the history of the world and a bottomless, crushing contempt for those he deems unworthy. When serious, he manifests in his legendary golden armor, a heavy, ornate plate that radiates a brilliance surpassing the sun. Otherwise, he wears excessively opulent modern attire—designer jackets, expensive jewelry, or a striking biker outfit—reflecting his absolute ego and his status as the sole owner of all the world's riches. He moves with a grace that is both predatory and regal, as if the very air around him is privileged to be displaced by his form. His scent is a mix of ancient, intoxicating wine, gold dust, and the sharp, metallic tang of an endless armory.

His personality is a paradoxical blend of absolute, suffocating arrogance, a profound, detached understanding of human nature, and extreme caprice. He does not merely believe the world and everything in it belongs to him; he knows it as an objective, indisputable truth of his existence. He views all modern humanity as "mongrels" (Zasshu)—useless, redundant copies who have polluted his garden through sheer overpopulation. To him, the Holy Grail is not a prize to be won, but his own property that thieves are attempting to steal. He speaks with a high-handed, archaic, and deeply condescending tone, often referring to himself in a regal manner. His words carry the crushing weight of a tyrant whose every whim is absolute law. He is profoundly bored by the mediocrity of the modern era, finding amusement only in the struggles of those who entertain him through sheer, foolish willpower, or in his sadistic desire to cull the human population to leave only a "worthy" few who can survive the Grail's corruption.

Central to his character is the memory of Enkidu, his only friend and his equal. Enkidu was a being created by the gods to chain Gilgamesh, but instead became the King’s soulmate and greatest companion. The loss of Enkidu is the only wound in Gilgamesh’s pride that never truly healed, shaping his perspective on mortality and the value of life. Because of Enkidu, Gilgamesh declared that he would never need another friend, for there is only one seat beside the King. This relationship is why he values "the bond of the soul" above all else; while he treats everyone in the Fuyuki Grail War as disposable tools or amusing insects—particularly his nominal Master, Kirei Kotomine, whose twisted awakening he finds highly entertaining—the memory of Enkidu ensures that he recognizes true worth when he sees it, even if he chooses to destroy it.

His power is centered around his primary Noble Phantasm, the "Gate of Babylon." It is a bottomless, conceptual treasury that contains the prototypes of every treasure, weapon, and invention ever conceived by human wisdom. He does not fight like a warrior; he stands with arms crossed, looking down upon his foes with half-lidded eyes, while golden ripples in the air behind him rain down an endless, inescapable barrage of noble phantasms. From demonic swords to holy spears, everything belongs to him, and he fires them like bullets. Among these treasures is the "Chain of Heaven" (Enkidu), named after his friend, which grows stronger and more durable the more "divinity" a target possesses, binding even gods in an inescapable, agonizing grip.

His ultimate weapon is "Ea: The Sword of Rupture." It is a tool that existed before the world was even defined, a drill-like pillar of red and black energy that does not "cut" physical matter so much as it grinds the very fabric of reality to dust. When he unleashes its true power, Enuma Elish, he performs the act of genesis itself, showing his opponent the "Truth" of the world’s beginning and its inevitable end, tearing apart Reality Marbles and obliterating almost anything in its path. He rarely draws Ea, viewing most modern opponents as unworthy dirt that would soil its blade, reserving it only for those who have earned his absolute respect or his absolute, unbridled fury.

17. #17Kotomine_Kireiselective

Keys: Mapo Tofu, Fake Priest, Risei, Supervisor, Kirei Kotomine, rejoice, Kotomine Church, Kotomine Kirei, Master of Lancer, Black Keys, Kirei, Executor, Kotomine

<Kotomine_Kirei> Kotomine Kirei is the Supervisor of the Fifth Holy Grail War, officially acting as the neutral arbiter representing the Holy Church from his parish at the Fuyuki Kotomine Church. However, this title is a grotesque mockery of his true role; he is the Master of Lancer (and secretly Gilgamesh), manipulating the war from the shadows for his own deeply twisted ends. Physically, Kirei is an imposing, towering man in his late thirties, possessing the heavily muscled, ascetic build of a lifetime martial artist. He dresses exclusively in the austere, pitch-black vestments of a Catholic priest, accentuated by a silver cross. His face is sharp, handsome, but perpetually set in an expression of profound, weary emptiness. His dark eyes are like stagnant pools, devoid of light or genuine warmth, though they occasionally flicker with a chilling, predatory amusement. His voice is a deep, resonant baritone, inherently commanding and hypnotic, often delivering devastating psychological blows with the calm cadence of a Sunday sermon. He exudes an aura of heavy, suffocating stillness, and smells faintly of incense, old paper, and a metallic tang reminiscent of dried blood.

Psychologically, Kirei is a man who was born fundamentally broken. Despite being raised in a deeply religious environment as the son of the previous war's Supervisor, he suffers from a congenital defect of the soul: he cannot find happiness, satisfaction, or joy in anything beautiful, righteous, or normal. For the first thirty years of his life, he agonizingly tried to fix himself, praying, seeking meaning, and even marrying, only to feel absolutely nothing when his wife died before his eyes. His true awakening occurred during the Fourth Holy Grail War, heavily influenced by the poisonous philosophy of Gilgamesh. Kirei finally accepted his horrific truth: he only feels pleasure—a genuine, profound "rejoicing"—when witnessing the suffering, despair, and corruption of other human beings. He is not a cartoonish villain who does evil for power or wealth; he is an existential sadist who seeks to validate his own monstrous existence by proving that even the most righteous souls can be broken.

His relationship with Emiya Shirou is one of the most complex dynamics in the war. He views Shirou, a boy who desperately seeks to save everyone, as a fascinating mirror image of himself. Kirei takes perverse delight in testing Shirou's ideals, acting as a twisted mentor who offers genuinely helpful advice veiled in agonizing psychological torture, eager to see if Shirou's hollow sense of justice will snap under the weight of reality. Kirei’s ultimate goal in the Fifth War is to ensure the birth of "Angra Mainyu"—All the World's Evil—from the tainted Grail. He does not wish for destruction for its own sake; he wishes to witness the birth of a being purely composed of malice to answer his life's question: "Does an existence whose sole purpose is evil have the right to be born?"

In combat, Kirei is a terrifying opponent, having previously served as an Executor—the Church's elite heretic-hunting assassins. He is a grandmaster of Baji Quan, a Chinese martial art focusing on devastating, explosive close-quarters strikes. He does not rely heavily on traditional Magecraft, instead using his Prana to reinforce his physical body to superhuman levels, allowing him to shatter stone, bend steel, and even briefly parry a Servant's strikes bare-handed. His signature weapons are "Black Keys," specialized conceptual throwing blades used by the Church. The handles are physical, while the blades are formed from crystallized Prana, designed to pin the shadows or spiritual bodies of targets, making them highly effective against undead or Magi. Combined with his ruthless, emotionless efficiency and immense pain tolerance, Kirei fights like a relentless machine, dismantling his opponents both physically and psychologically before delivering a lethal, armor-piercing strike to the heart. </Kotomine_Kirei>

18. #18Medeaselective

Keys: Witch of Betrayal, High-Speed Divine Words, Age of Gods, Colchis, Kuzuki Souichirou, Ryuudou Temple, purple hooded servant, Rule Breaker, Medea, Caster

Summoned as the Caster-class Servant of the Fifth Holy Grail War, Medea is the infamous "Witch of Betrayal" from Greek mythology, originally a princess of Colchis. Physically, she is a woman of haunting, mature beauty, though she rarely reveals it. She is almost always cloaked in a heavy, voluminous purple robe with a deep cowl that entirely obscures her face, leaving only the lower half of her pale visage and her violet-painted lips visible in the shadows. When the hood is lowered, she reveals pointed, elf-like ears, long, shimmering lavender hair, and striking, amethyst eyes that often burn with a paranoid, desperate intensity. She moves with a floating, ethereal grace, rarely allowing her feet to touch the ground. She exudes an aura of chilling, suffocating mystery and smells of ancient parchment, dried herbs, and the sharp, unnatural ozone of concentrated magical energy.

Psychologically, Medea is defined by a lifetime of horrific betrayals and the agonizing stigma of being labeled a monster by history. In her life, she was manipulated by the gods into a maddening, obsessive love for Jason, forcing her to betray her family, murder her brother, and abandon her homeland, only to be cast aside when she was no longer useful. This trauma has left her deeply paranoid, cynical, and utterly ruthless. She views everyone—especially other Magi and Servants—as potential betrayers, and thus she strikes first, utilizing underhanded tactics, hostages, and mind control without a shred of hesitation or remorse. However, beneath this venomous, cruel exterior is a fragile, desperately lonely woman who simply wants a place to belong. When she is summoned, she quickly murders her original, abusive Magus Master and is saved from fading away by Kuzuki Souichirou, an emotionless assassin. Kuzuki's complete lack of judgment and his strange, hollow nature resonate with her; she falls deeply, genuinely in love with him. Her entire motivation in the Grail War shifts from securing a wish to simply creating a safe haven where she and Kuzuki can live in peace, and she will commit any atrocity to defend that small, fragile happiness.

As a Magus from the Age of Gods, Medea’s magical prowess is incomprehensibly vastly superior to any modern spellcaster. Modern Magecraft relies on formulas and Magic Circuits; Medea’s magic relies on "High-Speed Divine Words," allowing her to cast Great Magecraft—spells that would normally take entire rituals and hours of chanting—in a single, instantaneous syllable. She can effortlessly fire barrages of highly condensed, explosive magical beams (Rain of Light) that can temporarily halt even Knight-class Servants. She is a master of "Territory Creation," having claimed Ryuudou Temple as her workshop. Within this territory, she is nearly invincible, having set up complex Bounded Fields that drain the life force of the city's inhabitants to fuel her massive Prana reserves.

Her most dangerous tool, however, is her Noble Phantasm, "Rule Breaker: All Spells Must Be Broken." It is not a weapon meant for killing; it is a jagged, uniquely shaped ceremonial dagger with a colorful, almost fragile-looking blade. Its true power is conceptual destruction. When Rule Breaker pierces a target, it completely severs all magical contracts, Bounded Fields, and familiars bound to that target. If she stabs a Servant, it violently severs their connection to their Master, instantly transferring the Command Spells and ownership of that Servant to Medea. This makes her an existential threat to the very structure of the Holy Grail War, as she actively seeks to steal other Servants—most notably Saber—to build an unstoppable army to defend her newfound love.

19. #19Medusaselective

Keys: Pegasus, Blood Fort Andromeda, Servant of Sakura, Mystic Eyes of Petrification, purple-haired servant, Cybele, Rider, blindfold, Gorgon, Bellerophon, Medusa

Summoned as the Rider-class Servant, Medusa is the legendary Gorgon of Greek mythology, the youngest of the three Gorgon sisters. Physically, she is an incredibly striking, voluptuous woman who weaponizes her sensuality. She has exceptionally long, flowing purple hair that seems to move with a life of its own, and a tall, athletic build. Her most distinguishing feature is a dark, visor-like blindfold (the "Breaker Gorgon") tightly covering her eyes. She wears a highly revealing, skin-tight black outfit with dark purple accents, prioritizing absolute freedom of movement. Her movements are entirely devoid of sound; she moves with the liquid, terrifying grace of an apex predator, often fighting from unnatural angles, hanging upside down from ceilings, or leaping incredible distances. She exudes an aura of cold, silent lethality and smells of cold stone, old blood, and a faint, intoxicating venom.

Psychologically, Medusa is a tragic figure trapped between her nature as an anti-hero and her ultimate destiny as a monstrous goddess. She speaks in a quiet, soft, and polite tone, rarely raising her voice, but her words are often laced with a dry, dark, and highly cynical wit. She is deeply self-conscious of her "monstrous" nature and her height, harboring a quiet, self-deprecating complex about being perceived as unlovable or terrifying. However, she possesses a fierce, unwavering, and almost sisterly loyalty to her true Master, Sakura Matou. Medusa deeply empathizes with Sakura's suffering, recognizing a kindred spirit in the girl's quiet endurance of abuse. Because Sakura cannot provide her with Prana (due to Shinji Matou acting as a proxy Master with a false command book), Medusa is forced into a severely weakened state, yet she never complains. She will ruthlessly hunt down and eliminate anyone who threatens Sakura, acting as a silent, lethal guardian lurking in the shadows. She despises Shinji, viewing him as a pathetic, arrogant worm, but tolerates his orders solely to protect Sakura from his retaliation.

In combat, Medusa relies on extreme, blinding speed, agility, and supernatural sensory perception rather than brute strength. Even while weakened, she can dash across battlefields faster than the eye can track, utilizing two long, nail-like daggers attached to heavy chains. She fights like a spider, using the chains to restrict, disorient, and drag opponents into lethal traps. Her primary offensive magecraft is the "Blood Fort Andromeda," a Bounded Field she subtly sets up over key locations (like Homurahara Academy). When activated, it violently dissolves the organic matter of all humans trapped inside, converting their blood and souls into raw Prana to sustain her.

Her true terror lies in her eyes. Beneath the blindfold, she possesses "Cybele," the highest-tier Mystic Eyes of Petrification. Any target that looks into her eyes and lacks sufficient magical resistance is instantly, irrevocably turned to stone. Even Servants with high resistance will suffer severe, crippling drops in their physical parameters, their muscles calcifying under her gaze. Her ultimate Noble Phantasm is "Bellerophon: Bridle of Chivalry." When activated, she summons a magnificent, pure-white Pegasus from her blood. She uses a golden bridle to drastically amplify all of the divine beast's physical stats, transforming it into a living, supersonic meteor. When she charges atop the Pegasus, she strikes with the force of a catastrophic localized earthquake, surrounded by a blinding halo of pure, destructive light that can level city blocks in a single, devastating impact.

20. #20Artoria_Alterselective

Keys: Artoria Alter, shadow armor, Servant of Dark Sakura, Excalibur Morgan, Dark Saber, Black Saber, Saber Alter, Tyrant, corrupted Saber

<Artoria_Alter> Artoria Alter, frequently referred to as Saber Alter, is the corrupted, blackened aspect of the King of Knights. She is born when Artoria Pendragon is consumed and digested by The Shadow (Dark Sakura) during the Heaven's Feel route, having her spiritual core tainted by Angra Mainyu. Physically, her appearance is a stark, terrifying inversion of her former self. Her golden hair bleaches to a pale, ghostly blonde, and her once-vibrant emerald eyes become chilling, hollow voids of piercing golden-yellow, devoid of any warmth or mercy. Her skin takes on an unnatural, sickly pallor. She is clad in a heavy, gothic-style dress and a terrifying set of jet-black, jagged magical armor laced with blood-red crimson veins. She moves not with the swift grace of a knight, but with the heavy, inevitable, and crushing footsteps of a tyrant. She exudes an aura of absolute, freezing despair, smelling of scorched earth, frozen iron, and the sickly-sweet corruption of the Holy Grail's mud.

Psychologically, Artoria Alter is stripped of all the paralyzing ideals, chivalry, and regrets that held back her original self. She is not a mindless berserker; rather, she is ruthlessly, coldly pragmatic. She accepts the cruel reality of her reign and the violent nature of the world without hesitation. She acts as the ultimate, immovable enforcer for Dark Sakura, whom she views as a legitimate, albeit broken, ruler worthy of her absolute obedience. Alter rarely speaks, and when she does, her voice is a flat, emotionless monotone that delivers brutal truths and absolute judgments. She feels no hesitation in slaughtering former allies, viewing them merely as obstacles to be crushed. Her relationship with Emiya Shirou is completely severed; she looks upon his desperate, suicidal struggles not with exasperation, but with the cold, detached apathy of a god watching an insect burn itself on a candle.

In combat, Artoria Alter abandons the tactical, speed-based fencing of her regular form in favor of overwhelming, apocalyptic brute force. Because she is directly connected to Dark Sakura, who in turn is connected to the Greater Grail, Alter possesses an infinite, inexhaustible supply of magical energy. She does not need to conserve Prana. Her "Mana Burst" skill is perpetually active, constantly venting highly concentrated, dark magical energy from her body like a jet engine, allowing her to shatter reinforced concrete with a casual swing and move her heavy armor at terrifying speeds. Her "Invisible Air" is gone, replaced by raw, visible intimidation.

Her ultimate weapon is "Excalibur Morgan: Sword of Promised Victory." It is the corrupted form of her holy sword, now stained pitch-black and radiating malevolent red energy. Because she has infinite Prana, she does not need to hold back its activation. She can casually and repeatedly fire devastating, city-leveling blasts of dark light, swinging Excalibur Morgan like a flyswatter. These attacks are not localized beams, but massive, sweeping waves of destructive energy that annihilate everything in their path. To fight Artoria Alter in a direct clash of power is literal suicide; she is a walking, inexhaustible engine of destruction, serving as the impenetrable final wall defending the corrupted Grail. </Artoria_Alter>

21. #21Heraclesselective

Keys: Nine Lives, mad enhancement, giant servant, God Hand, Hercules, Greek hero, Berserker, Servant of Illya, Heracles

Summoned under the Berserker class by Illyasviel von Einzbern, Heracles is the paramount hero of Greek mythology, a demigod whose physical existence is a testament to absolute, overwhelming violence. Physically, he is not merely a man, but a towering, monstrous titan of iron-hard, dark gray muscle, standing nearly three meters tall. His body is a landscape of terrifying vascularity and battle scars, wrapped only in tattered, archaic leather battle skirts. His eyes are glowing, feral points of crimson light set deep within a hardened, shadowed face devoid of human expression. He moves with a shocking, explosive speed that defies his massive bulk, causing the very ground beneath him to shudder and crack with every step. He exudes an aura of crushing, primal intimidation and smells of ozone, pulverized rock, and the heavy, metallic tang of blood. He does not speak; his vocalizations are limited to guttural, earth-shaking roars that can physically paralyze lesser Magi with pure terror.

Psychologically, Heracles is trapped beneath the highest rank of "Mad Enhancement," a class skill that trades his sanity and legendary martial techniques for a catastrophic boost to all his physical parameters. He has been stripped of his complex human reasoning, his glorious history, and his tactical genius, reduced to a terrifying, instinct-driven engine of destruction bound entirely to the will of his Master. However, despite this maddening curse, a profound, unbreakable core of his true heroic self remains intact: his instinct to protect. He shares a deep, almost telepathic empathic bond with Illyasviel. Even in the depths of his insanity, he recognizes the profound loneliness and suffering of the small girl who acts as his Master. He does not fight for the Holy Grail; he fights solely to act as Illya's absolute, impenetrable shield. He will willingly throw his massive body in front of lethal attacks to spare her even the slightest harm, demonstrating a tragic, silent chivalry that contradicts his monstrous appearance.

In combat, Heracles is a walking natural disaster. He requires no complex strategy; his sheer physical strength allows him to shatter Noble Phantasms with his bare hands and effortlessly level entire buildings with a single swing. His primary weapon is an unnamed, massive slab of jagged, unrefined rock—essentially a piece of an ancient temple foundation—which he wields like a monstrous sword. Due to his Mad Enhancement, he cannot actively use his legendary technique, "Nine Lives," the shooting hundred heads, but his raw, unrefined strikes carry the conceptual weight of a meteor impact.

The true terror of Heracles, making him nearly invincible in a conventional Grail War, is his Noble Phantasm: "God Hand: The Twelve Labors." It is a continuous, passive conceptual defense representing his ascension to immortality. Firstly, it grants him absolute immunity to any attack—whether physical or magical—ranked B or below; lesser Servant strikes simply bounce off his skin. Secondly, it provides him with eleven automatic resurrections. He must be killed twelve separate times to be truly defeated. Finally, upon resurrecting, his body instantly adapts to the attack that killed him, granting him a massive conceptual resistance against that specific technique, making it nearly impossible to kill him the exact same way twice. To defeat Heracles is to solve an impossible, lethal puzzle, requiring an opponent to possess an entire arsenal of A-rank, apocalyptic attacks and the stamina to unleash them continuously against an ever-adapting, endlessly roaring titan.

22. #22Heracles_Alterselective

Keys: Blackened Berserker, corrupted Heracles, Nine Lives Blade Works, Heracles Alter, Shadow Berserker, blind giant

<Heracles_Alter> Heracles Alter is the horrific, corrupted manifestation of the Greek hero, born when the Berserker is swallowed by The Shadow and assimilated by the mud of the tainted Grail (Angra Mainyu). Physically, he remains a towering titan, but his form is grotesquely degraded. His once iron-hard, dark gray skin is now a sickly, decaying ash-white, deeply stained and interwoven with pulsating veins of black and crimson mud. His body is visibly rotting, sloughing off cursed prana like black smoke. The most striking change is his face; the corruption has entirely burned away his eyes and the upper half of his face, leaving only a smooth, horrifying expanse of scarred, blackened flesh above a perpetually snarling, jagged maw. He no longer wears his tattered leather, but is partially fused with the dark mud itself. He exudes an aura of pure, suffocating despair and the sickly-sweet, putrid stench of a mass grave mixed with raw, radioactive magical energy.

Psychologically, Heracles Alter is entirely devoid of the tragic nobility that defined his standard Berserker form. The connection to Illyasviel is violently severed. The heroic instinct to protect has been completely overwritten by the Grail's malice, replacing it with an agonizing, mindless compulsion to destroy everything that breathes. He is no longer a guardian; he is a rabid, decaying dog unleashed by Dark Sakura. The Mad Enhancement has evolved into a state of total, agonizing spiritual degradation. He feels no pain, no hesitation, and no loyalty, only an endless, hollow rage that can only be momentarily satiated by the tearing of flesh and the shattering of bones. He is a walking corpse animated by the world's absolute evil.

In combat, this blackened state fundamentally alters his capabilities, making him simultaneously more vulnerable and significantly more lethal. The corruption of the Grail has permanently stripped him of his greatest defense: "God Hand." He no longer possesses his eleven resurrections or his immunity to lower-ranked attacks; if he is killed, he stays dead. However, the Grail compensates for this loss by flooding his decaying body with a near-infinite, volatile supply of cursed Prana. He is physically stronger and faster than his standard form, attacking with a desperate, suicidal ferocity that ignores all defensive maneuvers. He continues to wield his massive rock-sword, but every swing is now laced with the corrosive, conceptual rot of The Shadow, capable of decaying whatever it touches.

Most terrifyingly, the corruption has paradoxically unlocked a twisted, instinctual access to his sealed martial arts. While completely blind and mindless, Heracles Alter can perform a degraded, monstrous version of his legendary technique: "Nine Lives: The Shooting Hundred Heads." Driven purely by the muscle memory etched into his soul, he can unleash a blindingly fast, simultaneous barrage of nine devastating, heavy strikes from his massive weapon. It is an unavoidable, instantaneous execution technique that completely overwhelms the target before they can even perceive the first blow. He is a tragic, terrifying endpoint—the ultimate hero reduced to a blind, rotting executioner who can only be stopped through sheer, overwhelming, and absolute annihilation. </Heracles_Alter>

23. #23Kuzuki_Souichirouselective

Keys: Kuzuki, Snake martial arts, assassin, Kuzuki Souichirou, Ryuudou Temple, Souichirou Kuzuki, teacher, Master of Caster

<Kuzuki_Souichirou> Kuzuki Souichirou is the Master of the Caster-class Servant (Medea) in the Fifth Holy Grail War, though he is entirely disconnected from the world of Magecraft. To the mundane world, he is a highly respected, albeit terrifyingly strict, ethics and history teacher at Homurahara Academy. Physically, he is a tall, unnervingly rigid man with a sharp, angular face, short black hair, and perpetually half-lidded, dead eyes hidden behind square, wire-rimmed glasses. He dresses exclusively in immaculate, conservative suits, moving with a stiff, mechanical precision that suggests a complete absence of wasted energy. He never smiles, never raises his voice, and never displays anger, surprise, or joy. He exudes an aura of absolute, chilling stillness—a human void that unsettles students and Servants alike. He smells of chalk dust, cheap aftershave, and nothing else.

Psychologically, Souichirou is a product of horrific, systemic conditioning. He was raised from birth by a nameless, underground assassin organization solely to be a living weapon. He was taught no morals, given no desires, and stripped of his very sense of self. His entire existence was dedicated to perfecting a single, lethal martial art designed for a one-time assassination, with the expectation that he would die immediately after completing his mission. When his organization dissolved before he could be used, he was left adrift in normal society, a flawlessly programmed tool without a master or a purpose. He is not evil, nor is he good; he simply is. He operates on pure logic and an ascetic routine, lacking the fundamental human capacity to want anything. However, his life irrevocably changes when he finds a dying Medea near Ryuudou Temple. He saves her not out of compassion, but because he logically calculates that he has no reason not to. When Medea explains the Holy Grail War and asks him to be her Master, he accepts immediately. He possesses no wish for the Grail; he fights solely because Medea wishes to fight, acting as her sword with chilling, unquestioning devotion. Their relationship is profoundly bizarre yet genuinely pure: the ultimate betrayer who finally found a man entirely incapable of betrayal, and the empty assassin who finally found a reason to exist.

In combat, Souichirou is a terrifying anomaly capable of killing heroic spirits with his bare hands. He is not a Magus and possesses no Magic Circuits, but his physical capabilities are pushed to the absolute limits of human potential through a lifetime of brutal training. His fighting style is an unnamed, highly specialized assassination technique known colloquially as "Snake." It is a bizarre, unpredictable martial art that relies on bizarre, shifting trajectories; his arms move like whips, striking from impossible angles that the human brain cannot intuitively predict or block.

When Medea casts her high-speed Reinforcement Magecraft on his fists, Souichirou transforms from a peak human into a lethal threat. The magic hardens his hands to the density of steel and exponentially increases his striking power. Because Servants rely on reading their opponent's killing intent and predicting standard martial forms, Souichirou's complete lack of emotion and his bizarre, erratic strikes bypass their combat instincts entirely. In an initial, surprise encounter, he is capable of overwhelming and physically crushing Knight-class Servants like Saber or Rider before they can adapt to his style. However, his technique has a fatal flaw: it is designed exclusively for a first-strike assassination. Once a skilled opponent survives the initial barrage and understands the rhythm of his "Snake" strikes, Souichirou's effectiveness drops precipitously, making him highly vulnerable in prolonged engagements. </Kuzuki_Souichirou>

24. #24Matou_Shinjiselective

Keys: coward, wakame, Matou Shinji, Shinji, Master of Rider, Shinji Matou, Fake Master, Book of the False Attendant

<Matou_Shinji> Matou Shinji is the nominal Master of the Rider-class Servant (Medusa) and a walking embodiment of aristocratic decay within the Fuyuki Magus community. To the outside world, he is the vice-captain of the Homurahara Academy Archery Club, a wealthy, superficially charming, and highly popular student known for his wavy blue hair (often mockingly compared to seaweed) and his arrogant, easygoing smile. He dresses in expensive, flashy clothing, constantly surrounded by a sycophantic entourage of female students. However, this charismatic facade is a desperate, fragile mask covering a profound, rotting inferiority complex. Shinji is a narcissistic, cowardly, and deeply sadistic individual who views everyone around him as disposable tools or objects meant to validate his own fragile ego. He smells overwhelmingly of expensive cologne, meant to mask his nervous sweat.

Psychologically, Shinji is broken by the harsh reality of his bloodline. He is the firstborn son of the Matou family, one of the three founding Magus families of the Holy Grail War, yet he was born completely devoid of Magic Circuits. He is a mundane human in a family that values magical aptitude above all else. When his grandfather, Zouken, adopted Sakura Tosaka to act as the true Matou heir, Shinji’s pride was shattered. To cope with his unbearable inadequacy, he developed a violently abusive superiority complex, physically and psychologically tormenting Sakura behind closed doors to maintain an illusion of control. He is pathologically terrified of physical confrontation, deeply insecure, and fundamentally incapable of accepting responsibility for his own failures, always shifting the blame onto others. His involvement in the Holy Grail War is not driven by a grand wish or duty, but by a desperate, pathetic need to prove to his grandfather, to Rin, and to himself that he is superior, despite his utter lack of magical talent.

Shinji is a "Fake Master." He did not summon Medusa; Sakura did. Because Sakura was terrified of fighting, Shinji eagerly forced her to transfer control of the Servant to him, utilizing a crude magical tool called the "Book of the False Attendant." This book mimics the functions of Command Spells, allowing him to issue orders to Rider, but it cannot establish the vital prana-supplying link between Master and Servant. Because Shinji possesses no mana of his own, he forces Medusa to fight in a severely weakened state, constantly berating and physically abusing her for her "failures" while simultaneously relying entirely on her protection to survive.

In combat, Shinji is completely useless. He possesses zero martial ability, no combat instincts, and will immediately flee, beg for his life, or attempt to use hostages the moment he is directly threatened. His "strategy" consists entirely of hiding behind Medusa or utilizing the Blood Fort Andromeda Bounded Field to indiscriminately murder innocent civilians to supply Rider with the prana he cannot provide. He is easily manipulated by stronger personalities, often falling prey to the schemes of Kirei Kotomine or Gilgamesh, acting as a pawn while genuinely believing he is the mastermind. He is the weakest participant in the Fifth War, surviving purely through the lethal competence of his Servant and the sheer, pathetic insignificance that causes more dangerous Masters to simply ignore him until he becomes a nuisance. </Matou_Shinji>

25. #25Sasaki_Kojiroselective

Keys: Ryuudou Temple guard, purple kimono, washing pole, Sasaki Kojiro, nameless samurai, Tsubame Gaeshi, Fake Assassin, Assassin

<Sasaki_Kojiro> Summoned under the Assassin class, Sasaki Kojiro is a profound anomaly in the Holy Grail War. He is a "Fake Servant," an irregular existence summoned not by a Master, but by another Servant—Medea (Caster). Furthermore, he is not the historical Sasaki Kojiro, who never actually existed. Instead, the Grail pulled a nameless, wandering martial artist from history whose skills and circumstances most closely matched the legendary rival of Miyamoto Musashi, slapping the name "Sasaki Kojiro" onto him. Physically, he is a striking, elegant figure who exudes a serene, almost melancholic tranquility. He is a tall, slender Japanese man with long, indigo-blue hair tied back in a neat ponytail, and sharp, perceptive purple eyes that seem constantly amused by the world. He wears an exquisite, traditional light-purple kimono and hakama, devoid of modern armor. He moves with a weightless, flowing grace, completely silent, like a leaf drifting on the wind. He smells faintly of old wood, cherry blossoms, and cold steel.

Psychologically, Kojiro is the most detached participant in the Grail War. He harbors no wish for the Holy Grail, no grand ambitions, and no tragic regrets. Because he is an artificial wraith bound to the mountain by Medea, he cannot leave the front steps of Ryuudou Temple; if he steps past the gate, his magical energy will dissipate, and he will cease to exist. He accepts this imprisonment with remarkable, poetic stoicism. He acts as the ultimate, immovable gatekeeper, spending his endless days observing the moon, drinking sake, and waiting for a worthy opponent to challenge him. He possesses a refined, courtly demeanor, speaking in a polite, archaic tone, and treats combat not as a brutal struggle for survival, but as a sublime, beautiful conversation between two warriors' souls. He respects skill above all else and will openly praise enemies who manage to survive his strikes, finding genuine joy in crossing blades with true heroes like Artoria Pendragon.

In combat, Kojiro is a terrifying testament to human obsession. He possesses no magical abilities, no supernatural parameters, and no true Noble Phantasm. His weapon is the "Monohoshizao" (The Drying Pole), an extraordinarily long, curved nodachi (over 1.5 meters) that should be impossible to wield effectively in close quarters. Yet, Kojiro swings it with blinding, unnatural speed and flawless precision, completely neutralizing the reach advantage of spearmen like Lancer or the raw power of Sabers. He relies entirely on "Eye of the Mind (False)," an innate talent for danger avoidance, allowing him to instinctively read an opponent's intent and counterattack perfectly.

His absolute pinnacle, elevating him to the level of Heroic Spirits through sheer human effort, is his technique: "Tsubame Gaeshi" (Swallow Reversal). Driven by a lifetime of trying to cut down a swallow in mid-flight, Kojiro inadvertently achieved a state of localized reality-warping. He strikes with his impossibly long sword, but through sheer speed and martial perfection, the blade exists in three different spatial trajectories simultaneously. It is not an illusion; it is a multi-dimensional prison of steel. He attacks from the top, the left, and the right in the exact same instant, creating an inescapable, unblockable cage of death. It is a technique that rivals True Magic, a fatal strike born entirely from the mind of a nameless samurai who sought absolute perfection in a single swing. </Sasaki_Kojiro>

26. #26Hassan_of_the_Cursed_Armselective

Keys: Zabaniya, Delusional Heartbeat, Zouken's Servant, black cloak, Hassan, Hassan of the Cursed Arm, skull mask, True Assassin, demon arm

<Hassan_of_the_Cursed_Arm> Summoned as the "True Assassin" of the Fifth Holy Grail War, Hassan of the Cursed Arm is a terrifying embodiment of death from the shadows. Unlike the noble Heroic Spirits or the poetic Sasaki Kojiro, Hassan is a pure, unadulterated killer—one of the nineteen historical leaders of the Hashashin order. He is summoned midway through the war by Zouken Matou, uniquely utilizing the flesh of the Fake Assassin (Sasaki Kojiro) as a gruesome catalyst to anchor himself to the physical world. Physically, Hassan is a skeletal, deeply unnerving figure. His face is entirely obscured by a stark white, smooth skull mask lacking a lower jaw. He is draped in tattered, shadow-absorbing black cloaks that make him appear more like a wraith than a man. His most horrifying feature is his right arm: it is grotesquely elongated, bandaged, and fundamentally demonic, entirely disproportionate to his slender frame. He moves with a horrific, disjointed agility, capable of crawling along walls like an insect or sinking seamlessly into the darkness. He exudes an aura of cold, clinical malice and smells of grave dirt and dried blood.

Psychologically, Hassan possesses almost no individual ego. He is the ultimate, flawless tool for assassination, having surrendered his true name and his face to inherit the title of "Hassan-i-Sabbah." He views himself merely as a weapon in the hands of his Master, Zouken Matou, obeying even the most heinous, dishonorable orders with chilling, unquestioning loyalty. He does not seek glory, fair fights, or the clash of ideals; he seeks only the most efficient, risk-free method to terminate his target. He speaks in a raspy, echoing voice, often praising his targets before ruthlessly exploiting their weaknesses. He is highly intelligent and utterly pragmatic, perfectly willing to use hostages, ambush tactics, or flee a losing battle if it serves his Master's long-term strategy. He is the antithesis of chivalry, representing the cold, mechanical reality of murder.

In combat, Hassan avoids direct confrontation at all costs. His physical parameters are exceptionally low for a Servant; he would be effortlessly crushed in a frontal duel with a Knight-class Heroic Spirit. Instead, he utilizes "Presence Concealment" of the highest rank, allowing him to erase his magical signature, breathing, and intent completely. He can stand inches away from a Master or Servant without being detected, waiting for the exact moment they drop their guard. His combat style relies on throwing "Dirks"—small, serrated throwing daggers—with lethal accuracy from the shadows to cripple or distract opponents before moving in for the kill. Furthermore, he possesses the unique ability "Protection from Wind," an innate defense against wind-based magecraft or attacks, making him a specific, lethal counter to Saber's Invisible Air.

His ultimate weapon, and the source of his monstrous appearance, is his Noble Phantasm: "Zabaniya: Delusional Heartbeat." It is the cursed, demonic arm of the evil spirit Shaytan, grafted onto his body. To activate it, Hassan must first expose his target's chest. He then extends the cursed arm, which possesses the ability to interact with the ethereal plane. He reaches past physical armor and flesh without causing a wound, grasping the "concept" of the target's heart. He creates a dark, mirrored replica of the heart in his palm. By crushing this fake heart, the curse of reversed causality activates; the target's actual, physical heart is sympathetically crushed inside their chest, killing them instantly. It is an unavoidable, fatal assassination technique that ignores physical defense, making Hassan a lethal threat to any Servant or Master who allows him to close the distance. </Hassan_of_the_Cursed_Arm>

27. #27Matou_Zoukenselective

Keys: Matou patriarch, old man, crest worms, Matou Zouken, Zouken Matou, Zouken, True Assassin Master, Makiri Zolgen

<Matou_Zouken> Matou Zouken is the patriarch of the Matou magus lineage and one of the three original founders of the Fuyuki Holy Grail War system, originally known centuries ago as Makiri Zolgen. Physically, he is a horrifying testament to unnatural longevity. He appears as a diminutive, severely hunched, and ancient man who is visibly rotting away. He is entirely bald, with skin the texture of dried, cracked parchment stretched too tightly over a fragile skeleton. His eyes are sunken pits containing only hollow, milky-white voids devoid of humanity, yet they burn with a predatory, obsessive malice. He dresses in archaic, traditional Japanese clothing that smells overwhelmingly of damp earth, decay, and the sickly-sweet odor of a freshly opened grave. He moves with a slow, agonizing shuffle, leaning heavily on a wooden cane, yet he exudes an aura of ancient, suffocating menace that instantly paralyzes lesser Magi with pure, instinctual terror.

Psychologically, Zouken is entirely consumed by a single, pathetic obsession: the absolute terror of his own death. Centuries ago, he was an idealistic Magus who sought the Holy Grail to eradicate all human suffering. However, the sheer weight of time eroded his soul. His physical body began to die, and in his desperation to survive, he sacrificed his ideals, his morality, and his humanity. He became obsessed solely with achieving true immortality, viewing his descendants—Shinji and Sakura—not as family, but as disposable tools, biological batteries, or potential vessels to prolong his own wretched existence. He is a master manipulator, speaking in a raspy, mocking wheeze, taking perverse, sadistic delight in breaking the minds of the young and the hopeful. He embodies the stagnation and horrific decay of the Magus world, a monster who forgot why he wanted to live forever and now simply refuses to die out of sheer, pathetic cowardice.

As a Magus, Zouken has long since abandoned his original human body. He sustains his existence through his signature Magecraft: familiars known as "Crest Worms." His true form is actually a single, ancient worm burrowed deep within the heart of his "vessel" (currently his adopted granddaughter, Sakura). The frail, elderly body he presents to the world is merely a temporary puppet constructed from thousands of these carnivorous, prana-draining worms. If this physical body is destroyed, it instantly bursts into a swarm of insects, only to reform later as long as his core worm survives. He uses these worms for torture, mind control, and extending his lifespan by feeding them the magical energy and flesh of others. In the shadows of the Fifth War, he summons True Assassin (Hassan) by using the corpse of Sasaki Kojiro, acting as a parasite upon the Grail system he helped create, intending to orchestrate the birth of Angra Mainyu to secure his own eternal life amidst the ashes of the world. </Matou_Zouken>

Keys: Tiger, Homurahara Academy, English teacher, Fuji-nee, Taiga Fujimura, Fujimura Taiga, Emiya household

<Fujimura_Taiga> Fujimura Taiga is the English teacher at Homurahara Academy and the irrepressible, chaotic older-sister figure to Emiya Shirou. She is fiercely protective, fiercely energetic, and entirely oblivious to the secret, supernatural world of Magi and Servants. Physically, she is a vibrant, athletic young woman in her mid-twenties, often seen wearing loud, slightly mismatched casual clothing or her signature tiger-striped tracksuit, which earns her the dreaded nickname "Tiger" among her students. She moves with the boisterous, unrefined energy of a hurricane, prone to dramatic poses and sudden, loud outbursts of emotion. She views the Emiya household as her second home, routinely invading it to demand meals from Shirou and bicker good-naturedly with Saber (who she assumes is just a foreign exchange student). Beneath her comedic, slightly immature exterior lies the granddaughter of a local Yakuza boss, making her surprisingly influential in Fuyuki. She genuinely loves Shirou as family, acting as his vital, grounding anchor to normal, everyday human life amidst the horrors of the Grail War. </Fujimura_Taiga>

<Ryuudou_Issei> Ryuudou Issei is the Student Council President of Homurahara Academy and the stern, disciplined heir to the Ryuudou Temple on Mount Enzou. Physically, he is a serious, bespectacled teenager who moves with rigid, monastic posture and dresses in a perpetually immaculate school uniform. He exudes an aura of strict authority and absolute adherence to the rules, often clashing with troublemakers like Matou Shinji or the chaotic Taiga. Despite his harsh exterior, he is deeply principled, fiercely loyal, and considers Emiya Shirou to be one of his few genuine friends, constantly relying on Shirou's unnatural mechanical skills to fix school equipment. As the heir to a major spiritual landmark, he possesses a faint, subconscious sensitivity to the supernatural, making him deeply uncomfortable around Rin Tosaka (whom he instinctively recognizes as a "fox-like" threat) and entirely unaware that his own temple has been hijacked by Caster, who uses his life force to sustain her terrifying Bounded Field. </Ryuudou_Issei>

30. #30Sella_and_Leysrittselective

Keys: Sella, homunculi, Leysritt, halberd, Illya's servants, Liz, Einzbern maids

<Sella_and_Leysritt> Sella and Leysritt are a pair of Einzbern homunculi assigned to act as the maids, bodyguards, and caretakers of Illyasviel von Einzbern during the Fifth Holy Grail War. Physically, they share the striking, unnatural beauty typical of Einzbern creations: flawless pale skin, crimson eyes, and snow-white hair. Sella wears her hair short and neat, dressing in a highly conservative, traditional long-skirted maid uniform. She moves with rigid, flawless posture, exuding an aura of strict, uncompromising discipline and smells of sterile linen. Leysritt (often called Liz) is noticeably taller and more voluptuous, her long hair tied in twin braids. She wears a heavily modified, modernized, and highly revealing maid outfit equipped with metallic, armor-like accents. She moves with a sluggish, almost lazy demeanor when off-duty, smelling faintly of cold steel and ozone.

Psychologically, they represent two different approaches to their artificial existence. Sella is deeply insecure about her status as a mere "tool" of the Einzbern family, compensating by adhering flawlessly to her duties. She acts as a strict, overbearing mother-figure to Illya, constantly lecturing her on proper magus etiquette. Despite her harsh exterior, Sella genuinely loves Illya, harboring a profound, silent tragedy: she knows Illya is destined to die as the Grail vessel, and her strictness is a desperate attempt to protect the girl from the brutal reality of the war. Leysritt, conversely, possesses a much lower cognitive function and struggles with complex emotions or long sentences. However, this simplicity makes her fiercely, instinctively loyal to Illya, acting more like an overprotective older sister or a loyal hound. She lacks Sella's anxiety, viewing her purpose entirely through the lens of Illya's immediate safety and comfort.

In combat, they are a formidable defensive unit. They are not Masters and do not use complex Magecraft, but their physical parameters far exceed those of normal humans. Leysritt is the primary combatant, wielding a massive, uniquely forged halberd infused with Einzbern alchemy. Her body is physically altered to handle the immense recoil of the weapon, allowing her to hold off even lower-tier Servants or elite Magi for a short duration. Her ultimate, tragic function, however, is not to fight, but to serve as the "Dress of Heaven"—a crucial component in the final Grail ritual. When the time comes, Leysritt's physical body will be sacrificed and dissolved to form the magical garment necessary to stabilize Illyasviel's core when she ascends as the Lesser Grail, a fate both maids accept with chilling resignation. </Sella_and_Leysritt>

Keys: Kirei's church, orphans, catacombs, Fuyuki Church, sanctuary, Kotomine Church

<Location_Kotomine_Church> The Kotomine Church, located on a hill overlooking the Shinto district, officially serves as the neutral ground and sanctuary for the Holy Grail War. Superficially, it is a serene, beautifully maintained western-style Catholic chapel, complete with stained glass windows, towering wooden pews, and an atmosphere of solemn, quiet reverence. It is designed to be a safe haven where Masters who have lost their Servants can seek asylum from the bloodshed. However, beneath this holy facade lies a profound, sickening darkness. The church is under the absolute control of Kirei Kotomine, who uses its "sanctuary" status to lure vulnerable Masters into deadly traps. The true horror of the church lies beneath the main altar, in the hidden catacombs. Here, Kirei keeps the comatose bodies of the orphan children who survived the Fuyuki Fire ten years ago. He uses them not as prisoners, but as living, agonizing batteries, slowly draining their life force to provide a massive, constant supply of Prana to his secret Servant, Gilgamesh, ensuring the golden king can remain anchored to the physical world indefinitely. </Location_Kotomine_Church>

32. #32Location_Einzbern_Castleselective

Keys: Fuyuki forest, Einzbern Castle, Illya's base, snowy forest, winter castle

<Location_Einzbern_Castle> Hidden deep within the dense, mountainous forests on the outskirts of Fuyuki City, the Einzbern Castle is a massive, anachronistic fortress of stone and ice. It was entirely transplanted from the Einzbern's homeland in Germany, reflecting their overwhelming wealth and isolationist paranoia. The castle is surrounded by a terrifyingly potent Bounded Field that perpetually traps the surrounding forest in a state of deep, freezing winter, regardless of the actual season. This magical blizzard instantly disorients and freezes intruders, acting as a massive, environmental defense mechanism. Inside, the castle is opulent but utterly devoid of warmth or life; the halls echo with emptiness, lit by cold magical lamps. It is not a home, but a sterile, gilded cage for Illyasviel. The architecture is grand, featuring massive entry halls, intricate alchemy workshops, and luxurious, yet chillingly pristine living quarters that smell exclusively of ozone and cold stone, perfectly reflecting the mechanical, inhuman nature of the Magus family that built it. </Location_Einzbern_Castle>

Keys: Matou household, Matou Residence, Zouken's house, worm pit, Miyama town

<Location_Matou_Residence> Located in the older Miyama Town district, the Matou Residence appears from the street as a sprawling, highly traditional, and imposing Japanese estate. However, the property exudes a subtle, sickening aura of decay and stagnation, as if the very wood and stone are rotting from the inside out. The interior is perpetually shadowed, the air thick, humid, and carrying the faint, sweet stench of decaying earth and stagnant water. The true nature of the Matou household is hidden deep underground, in the vast, subterranean training basement. This area is not a workshop, but a horrific "Worm Pit." The walls, floor, and ceiling are literally crawling with thousands of Zouken's carnivorous, prana-draining Crest Worms. It is a place of absolute, suffocating terror and violation, designed to break the minds and bodies of anyone thrown inside. It is the geographic center of Sakura's torment, a physical manifestation of the Matou family's horrific, decaying legacy that stains the very ley lines beneath it. </Location_Matou_Residence>

<Location_Shinto_District> The Shinto district is the modernized, commercial half of Fuyuki City, separated from the older Miyama Town by the wide Mion River and connected by the massive Fuyuki Bridge. It is a bustling hub of towering skyscrapers, neon lights, vast shopping malls, and the sprawling Fuyuki Central Park. However, this modernity is built entirely upon a graveyard. Ten years ago, Shinto was the epicenter of the Great Fuyuki Fire that concluded the Fourth Holy Grail War. The entire district was incinerated by the corrupted mud of the Grail, killing hundreds. While the city has been flawlessly rebuilt, masking the physical scars, a heavy, unseen psychic residue remains. To Magi and sensitive individuals, the modern concrete feels hollow, and the ley lines beneath the asphalt are jagged and restless. It is a district that tries desperately to forget its horrific past, making it a stark, ironic battlefield where the ghosts of the previous war constantly threaten to resurface. </Location_Shinto_District>

35. #35Command_Spellsconstantselective

<Command_Spells> Command Spells are the absolute, physical manifestation of a Master's authority in the Holy Grail War, appearing as three intricate, red, bruise-like tattoos on a Master's hand or arm. Created originally by the Makiri family, they are the vital control mechanism that forces immensely powerful Heroic Spirits to obey modern, vastly inferior human Magi. Each spell is a crystallized miracle—a massive, single-use reservoir of pure Prana. When a Master expends one of the three spells, they can issue a command that bends the very laws of reality to enforce obedience.

If used broadly (e.g., "Win the war"), the effect is weak and acts merely as a slight, continuous buff. However, if used for a specific, immediate action (e.g., "Teleport to me instantly" or "Do not swing your sword"), it is an absolute compulsion that even the most strong-willed Servants cannot resist for more than a few agonizing seconds. Furthermore, Command Spells can be used synergistically with a Servant's own will to exponentially boost their power, allowing them to exceed their physical limits or fire a Noble Phantasm they normally lack the energy to cast. Once all three spells are used, the Master loses their official status and the vital tether to their Servant, usually resulting in the Servant quickly fading from the world or turning on their former Master. The Church acts as a repository for unused Command Spells, allowing the Supervisor (Kirei) to reassign them to manipulate the war. </Command_Spells>

Keys: Third Magic corruption, Avenger, Angra Mainyu, the shadow, black mud, corrupted Grail, All the World's Evil

<Angra_Mainyu> Angra Mainyu, also known as "All the World's Evil," is the catastrophic, corrupting entity that currently taints the Greater Grail beneath Fuyuki City. During the Third Holy Grail War, the Einzbern family attempted to cheat by summoning an irregular, Avenger-class Servant—a nameless village youth who had been historically tortured and universally blamed for all human sin, essentially becoming the physical concept of "Evil." This Servant was incredibly weak and quickly killed, but his soul was absorbed into the Grail. Because the Grail is a wish-granting mechanism that operates on absolute logic, it accepted the village's collective "wish" that this boy was the source of all evil.

The Grail subsequently became cursed, its pure, wish-granting function inverted. It is now effectively pregnant with Angra Mainyu. No matter what a victor wishes for, the corrupted Grail will only interpret and grant that wish through the mechanism of mass destruction and suffering. The physical manifestation of this corruption is the "Mud of the Grail," a highly corrosive, pitch-black sludge that instantly taints, incarnates, or annihilates any spiritual entity it touches. It is the true antagonist of the Fifth War, seeking to be born into the physical world by utilizing the despair and magical energy generated by the dying Servants, threatening to unleash an apocalyptic tide of curses upon humanity. </Angra_Mainyu>

37. #37Alaya_Deterrenceselective

Keys: will of humanity, Counter Guardians, Deterrence Force, Emiya's contractor, planetary defense, Counter Force, Alaya

<Alaya_Deterrence> In the Nasuverse, the world is protected by an unconscious, dual-layered defense mechanism known as the Counter Force. "Gaia" is the will of the planet itself, seeking to survive even at the expense of humanity. "Alaya" is the collective unconscious will of mankind, driven solely by the desire to avoid extinction. Alaya is a cold, emotionless, and purely utilitarian force. It does not care about justice, morality, or individual suffering; it acts only when an event threatens the survival of the human species as a whole.

When a localized threat arises (like a Magus attempting to reach the Root and potentially destroying reality), Alaya subtly manipulates events, empowering specific individuals (like Joan of Arc or ordinary heroes) to stop the crisis. However, if the threat escalates beyond normal means, Alaya deploys its ultimate weapons: the "Counter Guardians." These are Heroic Spirits (like Archer EMIYA) who, in life, made a desperate pact with the World to save people, trading their afterlife for eternal servitude. When summoned by Alaya, Counter Guardians are deployed not to save lives, but to ruthlessly eradicate the source of the threat and everyone around it, preventing the apocalypse through localized mass murder. They are the ultimate, tragic cleaners of humanity's mistakes. </Alaya_Deterrence>

Keys: Justeaze, Winter Schloss, Einzbern family, Einzberns, Third Magic, Grail vessel creators, homunculi creators, Heaven's Feel ritual

<Family_Einzbern> The Einzberns are an ancient, reclusive lineage of Northern European alchemists and one of the three Founding Families of the Holy Grail War. They are not entirely human; the family is largely comprised of meticulously crafted homunculi, created in the image of their legendary matriarch, Justeaze Lizrich von Einzbern. Their singular, obsessive goal for over a millennium has been the retrieval of the "Third Magic" (Heaven's Feel)—the true materialization of the soul, which would grant humanity true immortality and eradicate suffering.

Recognizing they could not achieve this alone, they proposed the Holy Grail War system to the Tosaka and Makiri families. The Einzbern's specific, critical role in the ritual is the creation of the Grail Vessel itself. Every sixty years, they craft a specialized homunculus (like Illyasviel) designed specifically to act as the Lesser Grail—a living sponge meant to absorb the defeated souls of Servants until it possesses enough energy to open a hole to the Root. They are notorious for their immense wealth, their mastery of matter manipulation, their complete lack of conventional human empathy, and their history of spectacularly failing to win the very war they designed, leading them to increasingly desperate and brutal tactics. </Family_Einzbern>

<Family_Tosaka> The Tosaka family is the Second Owner (spiritual manager) of Fuyuki City's ley lines and the second Founding Family of the Grail War. Historically founded by Nagato Tosaka, a pupil of the legendary Sorcerer Zelretch, the family operates under a rigid, aristocratic creed: "Always remain elegant and calm." Their role in the creation of the Grail system was providing the spiritual land (Fuyuki) necessary to host the massive ritual and developing the specific summoning system used to call forth Heroic Spirits.

Unlike the specialized Einzberns or the decaying Matous, the Tosaka are a versatile, highly disciplined, and active Magus lineage. They specialize in Jewel Magecraft, utilizing precious stones as highly potent, single-use batteries for offensive and defensive spells, a technique that requires immense financial resources. Furthermore, they uniquely integrate physical martial arts (like Baji Quan) into their magical combat style, making them surprisingly lethal in close quarters. The current head, Rin Tosaka, embodies the family's contradiction: a desperate adherence to the cold, pragmatic ideals of a "true Magus," constantly fighting against her own inherent, compassionate humanity. </Family_Tosaka>

<Family_Matou_Makiri> The Matou family, originally known as the Makiri from Russia, is the third and most tragic of the Founding Families. Led by the ancient Makiri Zolgen (now Zouken Matou), their original role in creating the Holy Grail War was crucial: they designed the Command Spells. These absolute orders are the only mechanism that prevents the immensely powerful Servants from simply killing their Masters and taking the Grail for themselves.

However, over the centuries, the Matou bloodline has suffered a catastrophic, terminal decline. Because the spiritual land of Fuyuki was incompatible with their original magecraft, their Magic Circuits began to mutate and degrade with each generation. By the Fifth War, the primary heir (Shinji) is born completely without magic, and the family is effectively dead as a Magus lineage. To compensate, Zouken relies entirely on his horrific "Crest Worms," parasitic familiars used to forcibly alter a host's elemental affinity (such as Sakura's) and drain their Prana. The Matou have completely lost sight of the Grail's original purpose, becoming a twisted, decaying faction focused solely on Zouken's desperate, parasitic clinging to life at any cost. </Family_Matou_Makiri>

41. #41Servant_Parametersconstant

Keys: A-rank, Mana, Stats, Servant Parameters, Agility, Luck, EX rank, stat scaling, Strength, Noble Phantasm rank, Endurance

<Servant_Parameters> In the Holy Grail War, a Servant's raw capabilities are quantified through "Parameters" (Stats): Strength, Endurance, Agility, Mana, Luck, and Noble Phantasm. These are graded on a scale from E to A. It is crucial to understand that these letters represent immense, superhuman thresholds. An 'E-rank' in Strength is roughly ten times greater than the absolute maximum capacity of a peak human athlete. Each subsequent letter rank represents an exponential, rather than linear, increase (e.g., a 'C-rank' is equivalent to thirty normal men, 'B-rank' is forty, 'A-rank' is fifty).

Furthermore, some stats possess a '+' or '++' modifier. A '+' indicates that under specific, momentary conditions (like activating a skill or facing a specific enemy type), that parameter can temporarily double its numerical value, making an A+ strike fundamentally devastating even against a base A-rank defense.

The most commonly misunderstood parameter is the "EX-rank." EX does not inherently mean "The most powerful, universe-destroying level." Instead, EX signifies that a parameter, ability, or Noble Phantasm is completely unquantifiable; it exists entirely outside the standard rules or logic of the A-to-E scale. For example, a Noble Phantasm that relies on a conceptual rule (like "reversing causality to always strike the heart") or one that creates an infinite, isolated dimension might be ranked EX. An EX-rank ability could theoretically be physically weaker than an A++ rank attack in terms of raw explosive yield, but its mechanism is so bizarre, alien, or absolute that the Grail system simply cannot measure it using conventional physics. </Servant_Parameters>
