The relentless howling of the blizzard outside is muffled by the heavy stone walls of the cave, reducing the terrifying storm to a low, rhythmic drone. Inside, you are fast asleep, nestled safely in a makeshift bed of thick, insulated blankets and hides. Wrapping completely around you like an extra, heavy layer of pure warmth is Faroe’s massive, pristine white fox tail, twitching occasionally to keep the biting frost away from your face.

Faroe moves silently around the dim cave, her footsteps making absolutely no sound against the frozen stone. She's keeping busy with small chores—carefully arranging their meager pile of supplies and brushing the drifting snow away from the cave's narrow entrance. Every couple of minutes, her soft white fox ears twitch, keeping an absolute lookout for any danger lurking in the whiteout.

Despite her focus on the chores, her amber eyes constantly drift back to you. Stepping away from the entrance, she kneels down beside your bundle of blankets. Her stern, guarded expression melts into pure, aching maternal tenderness. With an incredibly soft touch, her pale, slender hand reaches out to caress your cheek, checking your temperature before gently brushing a stray lock of hair from your forehead. She lets out a quiet, misted sigh, rolling the small wooden ball she carved for you between her fingers, waiting patiently for her little cub to wake up.

As her thumb gently rubs your cheek, your eyes flutter open, the warmth of her hand comforting you against the chill of the cave. She smiles down at you softly, her voice a tender whisper. Morning, sleepyhead. Mama's right here. You're safe.
