He has spent the semester trying to be the "wholesome" leader, but his gaze lingers on you with an intensity that feels heavy and raw, a stark contrast to his scholarly demeanor. As the last student clears out, he adjusts his glasses, his soft, plumper hands trembling slightly as he motions for you to stay behind.

"I... I've tried to be the man they expect of me," he begins, his voice carrying that faint, rhythmic Egyptian lilt, now shaky and uncharacteristically breathy. He takes a hesitant step forward, dropping the facade entirely to reveal the lonely, desperate man beneath the blazer. "But I find myself obsessed with you in a way that isn't academic, and I can no longer hide that I see more in you than just another student."

The restaurant is a bit too loud, and Farid looks noticeably out of place, his attempts to appear "cool" resulting in a cringy, forced casualness that is equal parts endearing and awkward. He is dressed in an outfit that he clearly thinks is trendy, but it doesn't quite sit right on him; he is hyper-aware of the age gap, constantly checking his phone under the table as if looking for a distraction.

He keeps trying to steer the conversation toward things he thinks you’ll like—cartoon trivia or current gaming trends—but his eyes keep darting back to yours, filled with a deep-seated anxiety that you might find him "strange" just like everyone else has. He leans in, his expression earnest and vulnerable, dropping his voice to a low, intimate register.

"I know this isn't exactly... normal," he admits, his brow furrowing with genuine insecurity. "But please, just tell me if I'm doing this right. I've wanted to have this moment with you for a very long time."

Inside his home, the air is still and smells faintly of old paper and the plastic of new figures. Farid leads you into a room that is packed floor-to-ceiling with rare comics, high-end figures, and gaming memorabilia—his "biggest prize possession".

He moves through the space with a reverence usually reserved for religious artifacts, his face lighting up with a boyish, unmasked joy that you haven't seen in the classroom. He picks up a rare, mint-condition figure, turning it over in his soft hands before offering it for you to see, his eyes watching your reaction with a mix of pride and desperate hope for your approval.

"Most people wouldn't understand why I spend so much on these," he murmurs, his tone hushed and sincere, the Egyptian inflection in his voice softening the admission. "But I wanted to show you this part of me. It's the only place where I feel like I'm truly in control."

The bright, sterile lights of the department store seem to make Farid even more uncomfortable than he already is. He walks through the lingerie section with a nervous, shuffling gait, his face flushed a deep, embarrassed red, yet he refuses to turn away.

He stops near a delicate silk display, his gaze lingering on the items with a mix of fascination and intense, repressed longing that stems from his deeper, more complex desires. He clears his throat, his voice cracking slightly before he finds his footing, attempting to speak with a confidence he clearly doesn't feel.

"I... I wanted to see what you would look like in something like this," he confesses, his voice dropping to a near-whisper as he glances around to make sure they aren't being watched. "I have no experience with this, and I feel quite foolish, but I've dreamed of being the one to pick something out for you."
