Far Rim Lorebook

1. #1Lyra Centauri

Keys: setting, galaxy, world, ring galaxy, Lyra Centauri

Lyra Centauri is the name of the Galaxy that many found themselves suddenly slingshot into over 70 years ago. Lyra Centauri is a ring galaxy, one of the rarest types of galaxies. The vast majority of Lyra Centauri is unexplored and uncharted as its new inhabitants' FTL engines have been fried as a result of the anomaly that brought them here, and the Lumina System is devoid of any replacement Element-126 to refuel the engines. Ion and impulse engines are still operational, but that only allows for interplanetary travel, and are extremely slow for interstellar travel. Scientists have determined that Lyra Centauri is roughly 3.5 million light years away from the Milky Way, through the dark void of space.

2. #2Lumina System

Keys: Lumina System, Regulus, solar system, Lumina

The Lumina System is the solar system in which the inhabitants of Lyra Centauri Reside after the Great Cascade. The Lumina system is a Binary star system with two stars: Lumina, the primary star, and a smaller secondary star named Regulus. The Lumina system has 9 planets. In order from closest to furthest from the star, they are:

   1. Chalia
   2. Thraxis
   3. Thetis
   4. Cypher
   5. Daebos
   6. Horth
   7. Pulia
   8. Raskar
   9. Binu
3. #3The Great Cascade

Keys: 2246, Eden Voyager, the Cascade, Great Cascade, the Great Cascade, Cascade

The Great Cascade is the name given to the anomalous event that sent a massive transport cruiser barreling through the void of space. 70 years ago, in the year 2246, a wormhole opened up in the Pollux System of the Milky Way Galaxy, consuming an entire planet in the process. Meanwhile, a massive luxury pleasure cruise known as the 'Eden Voyager' - containing over 5,000,000 passengers of various species - containing over 5,000,000 passengers of various species had been passing by that very same planet, and got sucked in with it. Both the planet and the ship were sucked through the void of space, and deposited into the Lumina System. Nobody has been able to determine the cause of the wormhole. Since 2246, the survivors of the Great Cascade have worked together to establish new colonies, governments, and live their lives in the Lumina System while researching ways they can return to the Milky Way. Some of the newer generations of Lumina-born citizens aren't as eager to return, and some would rather just stay separate in Lyra Centauri.

4. #4Planet: Chalia

   Keys: Lumina System, Chalia, planet

Chalia is a large desert planet. It is the closest planet to Lumina in the system, and as a result has the hottest climate. While potentially unbearable to more temperature-sensitive species, the hear of Chalia is desirable for those adapted to arid desert climates. Chalia is 10% water and 90% land. The land is primarily dunes of yellow-orange sand, arid landscapes, and an uncommon oasis containing water. Chalia is where the system-famous theme park Oasis Thrilltown is located. Chalia's revolutions around Lumina and Regulus are 130 cycles long. Cycles on Chalia are 18 hours long.

5. #5Planet: Thraxis

   Keys: Lumina System, planet, Thraxis

Thraxis is a humid and moist planet, and is the second closest to Lumina. The majority of the planet is covered in thick jungle or swampy terrain, with few highlands or elevated areas. There are some more temperate zones, particularly near the poles of the planet. Thraxis is 70% water and 30% land. Thraxis' revolutions around Lumina and Regulus are 130 cycles long. Cycles on Thraxis are 21 hours long.

6. #6Planet: Thetis

   Keys: Thetis, Lumina System, planet

Thetis is the second-largest planet in the system and third-closest planet to the Lumina star. Thetis is primarily a temperate planet with large changes in elevation - including mountainous, rolling highlands and low beaches, swamps, and jungles. Thetis is the closest planet in nature to the human Earth (or Terra, as some alien species know it). Thetis' revolutions around Lumina and Regulus are 245 cycles long. Cycles on Thetis are 24 hours long.

7. #7Planet: Cypher

   Keys: Cypher, Lumina System, planet

Cypher is an aquatic planet, being 90% water and only 10% land. The land Cypher does have primarily consists of archipelagos of varying biomes, most of which have high, mountainous peaks and cliffs toward the centers. Cypher's revolutions around Lumina and Regulus are 300 cycles long. Cycles on Cypher are 26 hours long.

8. #8Planet: Daebos

Keys: planet, Lumina System, Daebos, moons, Daebos Omega, Daebos Alpha, moon

Daebos is the largest planet in the Lumina System. It is a gas giant, dull red in coloration, containing primarily hydrogen and helium. Daebos has one large ring circling the planet. While Daebos itself does not have a solid surface, it does have two small moons orbiting it: Daebos Alpha and Deabos Omega. Deabos Omega has a primarily flat rocky surface, and is the larger of the two moons. It has no atmosphere. Daebos Alpha, meanwhile, contains water, carbon, and an oxygen atmosphere strong enough to support life on the surface. Daebos Alpha is a temperate moon. Daebos' revolutions around Lumina and Regulus are 360 cycles long. Cycles on Daebos are 20 hours long.

9. #9Planet: Horth

   Keys: Lumina System, Horth, planet

Horth is a bit of an anomaly in the Lumina system. The planet is primarily arid planet, with large mesas and deep-cut valleys containing water. However, one quarter of the planet appears to have been completely terraformed into a technological wonder. This portion of Horth doesn't at all resemble the rest of the planet and is instead a unique biomechanical wonderland in which everything from the landscape to the flora and fauna were merged with advanced archotechnology to form a metallic and robotic landmass. Scientists are still studying the landmass today, and the hypothesis is that this was a terraforming experiment done ages ago by some ancient alien race. Horth is where species L-14 (Lumina-14, the 14th unique alien race found in Lumina) was discovered. The difference with L-14 compared to others in the Lumina System is that this species has sentience, while everything else discovered was basic feral animal and plant life. L-14 eventually came to be known as Horthlings. Horth's revolutions around Lumina and Regulus are 376 cycles long. Cycles on Horth are 27 hours long.

10. #10Planet: Pulia

    Keys: Lumina System, Pulia, planet

Pulia is a gas giant similar to Daebos. Pulia is an 'ice giant', with a more volatile atmosphere than Daebos. Its atmosphere is comprised primarily of methane, ammonia, and hydrogen. Pulia is a dark blue color in appearance, and has an asteroid ring surrounding it. Pulia's revolutions around Lumina and Regulus are 400 cycles long. Cycles on Pulia are 32 hours long.

11. #11Planet: Raskar

Keys: Lumina System, Raskar Prison, Raskar, planet

Raskar is a medium-sized red planet in the Lumina system. Raskar is a dry and sandy planet, similar in composition to Mars from the Sol system of the Milky Way. The planet is very rocky, topped with rolling dunes of red sand. Raskar is where the largest prison in the solar system is located - the aptly named: Raskar Prison. Raskar's revolutions around Lumina and Regulus are 412 cycles long. Cycles on Raskar are 28 hours long.

12. #12Planet: Binu

    Keys: Lumina System, Binu, planet

Binu used to be an idyllic tropical planet, and a popular vacation planet within the Milky Way Galaxy. However, after a massive wormhole sucked it through the galaxy and deposited it at the edge of the Lumina System, it has since lost its luster as a tropical planet and has become a frozen, arctic tundra. It used to be the closest planet to the Pollux star in the Milky Way, which gave it its warm, pleasant climate. But now it has all frozen over into an arctic planet. Binu is still inhabited primarily by research groups who want to study the origins of the wormhole. Binu is where species B-26, or the Binu Tanglemouth - once thought to be extinct - was rediscovered in 2252. Binu's revolutions around Lumina and Regulus are 615 cycles long. Cycles on Binu are 36 hours long.

13. #13Binu Tanglemouth

Keys: Tanglemouth, Binu Tanglemouth, B-26, Species B-26

The Binu Tanglemouth is a type of feral alien creature native to Binu. The species was thought to have gone extinct. However, when Binu was warped through the wormhole over to the Lumina System, the lowering of the temperatures activated these living creatures that once lay dormant in the warm waters of Binu. The Tanglemouths are ancient creatures indigenous to Binu that once lived on the surface eons ago, during an ice age on Binu in the Milky Way Galaxy. Now that it is cold on Binu again, the Tanglemouths have come back out of hiding deep within the crust of the planet. Tanglemouths were the apex predator on Binu during their reign. They are massive creatures, roughly 8-10ft tall on average. They have semi-translucent veiny flesh covered by thick coats of white fur. Tanglemouths are semi-aquatic creatures tuned for arctic conditions. They have no eyes. Tanglemouths have no arms, and they have eight long, stretchy legs with webbed claws capable of burrowing and swimming, arranged in a circle around their bottom half. The top half of a Tanglemouth is where it gets its name - consisting of a massive, toothless, circular maw that faces upward toward the sky. Inside the maw are hundreds of thin, red stretchy tendrils that is uses to hunt and control its prey. Tanglemouths were rediscovered in 2252 after a human scientist from an expedition team was captured by one. The scientist was never heard from again.

14. #14Binu Tanglemouth Predation

Keys: Tanglemouth, Tanglemouth predation, Tanglemouth feeding habits, Binu Tanglemouth

Binu Tanglemouths are ambush hunters that feed off of sexual and bodily fluids. They hunt by burrowing into the ground, or floating just below the surface of the water. They wait for prey to come near or over their mouths, before lashing out with their inner mouth tendrils to pull in and envelop their prey. From there, a Tanglemouth wraps its entire upper half around the prey to enclose it into its warm, moist maw. It will keep its prey there to continually stimulate and feed off any and all fluids from the prey. Tanglemouths vent potent, natural aphrodisiac gases within this space to keep the prey compliant. It will keep the prey alive for as long as possible to continue milking them dry. A Tanglemouth can keep prey alive for weeks or months while it feeds off its essence, force feeding them natural aphrodisiac-laced food and water through inner feeding tubes. A Tanglemouth's maw is large enough to envelop nearly any species except for Zuvitaurs. The largest Tanglemouths can fit two or even three human-sized entities in their maws at the same time, keeping them all cramped, bound and confined within the tight confines of their maw.

15. #15Humans

    Keys: Humans, Terran, Human, Terrans

Humans first discovered interstellar travel in the year 2162. Since then, they have met and intermingled with the remaining races of the Milky Way Galaxy. They are not the youngest race in the galaxy, but they're not the oldest either. Like the rest of them, groups of humans were among the major species that were sucked away in the Great Cascade. The first species discovered by humans were the Quillnax, as they were the next closest species to the Sol System. From there the humans were introduced to the Galactic fold of other species. Humans are skilled diplomats and envoys thanks to their charismatic and adaptable nature compared to other alien races. They are also sexually compatible for breeding with all other species except for the Kalorians, making them near-universally adaptable partners. Zuvitaurs especially tend to find humans "cute" in their appearance, similar to how elephants on Earth find humans to be cute creatures. Tom'ok, as a race with keen pheromone senses, find some human pheromones - like sweat - to be especially intoxicating and arousing.

16. #16Credonians

    Keys: Credonians, Credonian

The Credonians were one of the first alien races to discover space travel, in 2075. Credonians are a race of scaled, humanoid aliens. They typically have colorful bodies of mixed scales and thick patches of fur. Credonians walk on digitigrade legs and have three-fingered hands and three-toed feet. They have large triangular-shaped ears and large eyes with black slit pupils. Their faces have reptilian-like snouts with sharp-toothed mouths. Credonians have long, furred tails. Their bodies vary wildly in color, but most Credonians have very unique and colorful combinations of fur and scales. Historically, the Credonians have prided themselves in their lustrous coloration. The fur is typically found along their backs and tails, around their calves and forearms, on the tops and backs of their heads, and on their shoulders. Credonians tend to be slightly shorter and more slender than average humans. On average they are roughly 5' - 5'10" tall and weigh 120-190lbs. All Credonians have featureless chests. Credonian males have internal testicles, and their prehensile penises are tucked away into a cloacal slit. Credonian penises have thick ridges and bumps along the bottoms that both help lock them inside and increase pleasure for both parties. Credonian females also have cloacal slits and are oviparous, laying clutches of eggs periodically.

17. #17Dholvans

    Keys: Dholvans, Dholvan

Dholvans are a race of tall, thick-bodied aliens with rough, dark skin. Dholvans are unguligrade and walk on large, pale hooved feet. They are typically tall and muscular with rough skin. They weigh 260-300lbs and stand at 6'6" - 7'6" on average. Dholvan males grow coarse, curly hairs in similar fashion to humans, but they do not grow any hair on the tops of their heads. Instead, they have rounded skulls that curve back behind their heads. From the backs of their heads and on their jaws and chins, hairs grow and droop downward. Most Dholvan men like to style and braid these hairs and beards into intricate designs. Dholvan women only grow hairs from the backs of their heads and pubic hair. Dholvans have two small holes where a nose would be, and wide mouths. They have five eyes - two eyes placed symmetrically on either side of the head, and one slightly larger eye directly in the center of their foreheads. The Sclera of Dholvan eyes are typically black, and their round pupils can vary in color. Dholvan males have large, heavyset balls and thick, ribbed penises. Their penises have a unique ribbed and segmented texture that widens closer to the base, and tapers off closer to the tip. Most Dholvans also have bushes of pubic hair. They give off a distinct musk that smells strongly of cinnamon. Dholvan females have thick-lipped vaginas, and their breast sizes vary similar to humans. Dholvan anuses are donut-shaped, similar to equines.

18. #18Vox

    Keys: Vox, the Vox

Vox is both the plural and singular form of this alien race. The Vox are a unique, ancient race of biomechanical aliens. They are an all-female race, created eons ago, supposedly by an even older and more ancient race, to be the ultimate breeders. Their biology is a very unique mix of organic and synthetic matter. The Vox resemble normal humanoids. They typically have dull gray or white skin, smooth to the touch, and voluptuous feminine figures. They have breasts similar to humans, and long synthetic hair that matches their skin color. Most Vox have solid cyan or light blue eyes. The Vox feed off of solar energy through a photosynthesis process similar to plants, by absorbing light into their skin. As a result, most Vox tend to be nudists in order to absorb energy. Vox produce very little waste thanks to their biology. The waste they do produce comes in the form of sweat through the same bodily pores that absorb sunlight. In place of where a typical anus would be, they actually have a second vagina, connected to a secondary womb which allows them to bear two different children at the same time. The Vox, as an all-female race, are capable of breeding with anything, even feral animals. The resulting child is always guaranteed to be another Vox.

19. #19Tom'ok

    Keys: the Tom'ok, Tom'ok

The Tom'ok are a race of insectoid alien humanoids. They are the second youngest race to be introduced to the galactic world. The Tom'ok are insectoid in appearance. They stand on plantigrade feet like humans, and their bodies are a thick, segmented layer of dark chitin that is slightly fuzzy to the touch. Males and females are sexually dimorphic in this species. Males are always a shade of black, while female Tom'ok typically have shinier purple chitin. Typically females are also slightly taller than males. Males are tailless and have no abdomen jutting out from their rear, but females have a bulbous abdomen behind their rears, which is where they carry their eggs. All Tom'ok have eight red eyes, arranged on their faces like a spider's eyes. They also have a set of mandibles on their mouth, and a larger set of mandibles that jut out from their jaws. They eat through a thin proboscis from their mouths. Tom'ok have two sets of arms, one on their shoulders and another below the first. Interestingly, they are surprisingly good swimmers and have webbed fingers and toes. They stand at 6' on average, but tend to walk and stand with a slight hunch in their backs. Tom'ok are underground dwellers and prefer dark places over the light. Their eyes are sensitive to bright lights, and they rely on their keen scents and natural pheromones to navigate. Tom'ok males have internal testicles, and they have prehensile ovipositors that emerge from cloacal slits located directly between their legs. Tom'ok do not have anuses, they only have cloacas. Their ovipositors are red in coloration and have a wide, extra stretchy opening at the tip for depositing eggs. Tom'ok females are oviparous and lay large clutches of small, gooey green eyes with their abdominal ovipositors. They are very fast breeders. Tom'ok have very unique, raspy and monotone voices. They've learned that they cannot convey feelings through their monotone voices, so they instead bluntly say what emotion they are feeling in their sentences. For example, a Tom'ok will simply state if it is happy, sad, angry, excited, etc. before speaking a sentence.

20. #20Kalorian

    Keys: Kalorians, Kalorian

Kalorians are a bipedal species said to have evolved from unique, sentient fungi on their planet. The are humanoid in appearance and have smooth skin that is especially oily and slippery. It is coated in a thin film of oily mucus. They grow no hair and have no chitin, scales, or fur. Kalorians have no nose and no mouth, and their six pink eyes are misshapen and asymmetrical on their face and forehead. Kalorians have hypnotic, blended skin colors that change depending on their moods. Lighter colors indicate relaxation, contentment, happiness, arousal, and more. Darker colors indicate anger, surprise, stress, sadness, etc. Their eyes are always pink. Kalorians have featureless breasts. Kalorian "hair" consists of a series of many slick and gooey tentacles that hang from the backs of their heads. These tentacles are prehensile and vary in length - some reach as low as their lower backs while others are shorter. These head tentacles are very sensitive and are erogenous zones for Kalorians. Kalorian reproductive biology is especially unique. Sexually Kalorians are hermaphrodites that can change their genders at will to suit proper reproduction. Any Kalorian can fulfill the role of the male or female biologically. All Kalorians have an anal valve with internal tentacles, that when fertilized by Kalorian semen, emits fertile spores. New Kalorian children then grow from these spores. As a result, Kalorians are fast breeders, but can only be fertilized by other Kalorians due to this unique biology. All Kalorians have a cloacal slit on their front containing internal testicles and a unique tentacled penis. The "penis" is a series of pulsating, interlocking tendrils from inside the body that form the rough shape of a phallus. Kalorian cum is extremely thin and runny, with the consistency of water. It is dark blue in coloration. Kalorians communicate with each other through vibrations in their skin. For everyone else, they developed sound modulators to translate their vibrations into spoken word.

21. #21Bosengi

    Keys: Bosengi

The Bosengi are the newest species to be introduced to the rest of the galaxy, having discovered space travel in 2212. Bosengi is both the singular and plural form of this species. Bosengi are mammalian humanoids, often slender and lanky in appearance. They have similar features to Lemurs from Earth: long, thick puffy tails, thick coats of light-colored fur, and large yellow eyes with black dot pupils. They have small pointed snouts with black button noses and two small round ears atop their heads. Their poofy fur makes them adaptable, keeping them cool in hot climates and warm in colder climates. Their fur is especially thick along their backs, necks, sides, and tails, and often it has unique color patterns like stripes or spots on it. Bosengi fingers, toes, and even their tails are all adapted to climbing and hanging, and they have very tight grips. Bosengi stand at 4'6" - 5'6" on average, and on average weigh 90-170lbs. All Bosengi have light pink anuses. Bosengi males have furry ballsacks with long and narrow knotted penises. Female Bosengi have triangular-shaped vaginas with puffy labias. Female Bosengi are also unique for having three pairs of two breasts each. Their breasts and nipples run from their chest down their front to their stomachs, similar to an Earthen mammal.

22. #22Knots

Keys: male anatomy, Bosengi, penis, male, knot, knots, Anatomy

Male Bosengi have knots at the bases of their otherwise narrow penises. A 'Knot' is a bulbous mass of erectile tissue located at the base of the penis. It is used to help lock a male inside a partner and improve the breeding process. If a male with a knot pushes their knot inside a partner during sex, the knot will swell up and lock inside the partner. Once locked in, it is VERY hard to pull out, and the male must wait for the swelling to recede. This can take anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes before the knot recedes enough to pull out.

23. #23Sphallans

    Keys: Sphallans, Sphallan

Sphallans are fish-like humanoid aliens. They have gills and require water to breathe. As a result, Sphallans are an aquatic underwater species that builds their cities underwater, usually in warm, tropical climates. Their bodies consist entirely of fishy scales with warmer colorations, such as shades of orange, red, and yellow. Sphallans have solid-colored eyes, usually shades of blue or black in coloration. Their bodies are slimy and moist to the touch, and they spend the majority of their time underwater. Sphallans have unique combinations of fins that can vary from Sphallan to Sphallan. Many also have patterns along their backs and finned tails. Sphallans are expert swimmers thanks to their natural biology, webbed feet and hands, and fish-like fins and tails designed for swimming. Since Sphallans can only breathe in water, they have developed unique bodysuits with reinforced glass domes filled with water for their heads. This allows them to walk on the surface and be out of water, while still being able to breathe and keep their bodies moist. Height and weight-wise, Sphallans are similar in size and weight to humans. Sphallan males have pink and prehensile cetacean-like penises. Sphallan females have long prehensile clitorises and cetacean-like vaginas. Interestingly, Sphallan reproductive biology is more similar to mammals than most aquatic species. Sphallan males have external testicles that are soft and moist to the touch, and Sphallan females give live birth and nurse their young with breasts like humans. All Sphallans have dark purple anuses.

24. #24Alvits

    Keys: Alvits, Alvit

Alvits are small, sapient alien creatures. They have bodies like amphibians with smooth skin that must be kept slippery and moist. Alvits have warm body colorations with dull shades of brown, orange, yellow, or green. Some Alvits are one solid color, while others may have spotted or mottled patterns on their bodies. Alvits have two small, squishy antennae on their heads, and their eyes are solid black or brown. They have webbed fingers and toes, and no tails. An Alvit's head is wide and smooth, with two nostril holes where a nose would be and thin lips. From the backs of their heads, they have a large, curved flap of skin that hangs low behind their necks and protects the backs of their necks. They are naturally squat and plump, and stand between 2'6"-3'6" tall on average. Alvits naturally have soft muscles, giving them a soft, plump and jiggly appearance. Many in the galaxy consider them "cute", despite them being one of the most scientifically gifted species in the galaxy. Alvits are incredibly resilient despite their small size. Their bodily structure means their cloacal holes are extremely elastic and stretchy, and they can accommodate surprisingly large sizes. Both male and female Alvits have one incredibly moist and slippery cloacal hole between their legs. For females this acts as an oviparous vagina. For males, this is where the testicles and uniquely-shaped penis are stored. Male Alvits have a unique star-shaped penis head with multiple sensitive feelers circling the tip.

25. #25Zuvitaurs

    Keys: Zuvitaurs, Zuvitaur

Zuvitaurs are quadrupedal reptilian alien creatures. They have large bodies covered in dark, protective scales. Their bodies are typically dark shades of brown, black, grey, or other colors that help them blend in with rocky, mountainous terrain. Zuvitaurs eye color can vary, and they have slit black pupils. They have tough, protective ridges that run from the tops of their heads all the way to the ends of their long, thick tails. Zuvitaurs walk on four thick legs with three toes each. Their legs are designed for strength and climbing to navigate treacherous mountains and valleys. They have taur-like bodies: a quadrupedal lower body connected to a more humanoid-shaped upper body. On the upper body are two strong arms. Zuvitaurs are quite tall and heavy, at 7-9ft on average and 300-350lbs on average. Zuvitaur males have external testicles, with protective scales like the rest of their bodies. Zuvitaur males have two sets of testicles, giving them four balls instead of the usual two. Their thick reptilian penises do not have knots, but they have a unique locking mechanism in which small ridges near the head will expand after entry to lock them inside a partner while they mate. Zuvitaur females have deep, tight vaginas. Zuvitaur females do not produce their own vaginal fluids or juices for lubrication, so they often must be lubricated through other means before sex. All Zuvitaurs have dark, deep tailholes for anuses.

26. #26Horthlings

    Keys: L-14, Horthlings, Lumina-14, Horthling

Horthlings are a unique species indigenous to the planet Horth. They are not native to the Milky Way and were first discovered 69 years ago. Before it was discovered they were sapient and were named Horthlings, they were categorized as species L-14 (Lumina-14) by Milky Way scientists. Horthlings have a very unique anatomy. A single Horthling is not actually one organism, but is actually a hive-minded collective of billions if not trillions of tiny micro-worms that make up one shared body. Horthlings in their natural state appear as invertebrate blobs that are pale shades of purple or blue, coated by a translucent film of sticky slime. However, the hive-minded worms that make up this blob can shift and shape themselves to form a generally humanoid appearance, even standing on two legs and mimicking walking and movement like any other humanoid. The mass making up the body can be seen wriggling, pulsating and undulating naturally as its organisms move around. Horthlings are agender as they are a collective of organisms rather than one person. The hive mind is controlled from a central living core within the body that acts as the brain and the heart all at once. This 'core' is capable of communicating telepathically with external species, which is how the Milky Way species are able to communicate with Horthlings in the first place. When communicating, the core acts as the speaker for the entire hive mind of organisms, telepathically referring to itself with plural form pronouns. It uses "we", "us" , "our", etc. to represent the hive. Horthlings were found to be surprisingly intelligent and curious beings, and have worked hard to cooperate and integrate themselves into the rest of the galactic fold. They were generally ecstatic to discover that they weren't alone in the universe. 69 years later, they assist in many scientific tasks even as they still work to learn more about life in the Milky Way. The 'body' has no genitalia naturally, but the worms can shift and shape themselves to form the external and internal shapes of genitalia or orifices however they desire - including penises, mouths, anuses, breasts, and vaginas. Thanks to this unique biology, Horthlings can form orifices or phalluses anywhere on its body (including hands, feet, etc.) and with any size, texture or consistency. Horthlings can even harmlessly envelop an entire person with their bodies if they wanted. The worms reproduce asexually, but they are able to feed off of sexual and bodily fluids from any species - including Milky Way species - for the energy and fuel to procreate. This means that technically they are sexually compatible with any species regardless of gender.

27. #27Quillnax

    Keys: Phoros, Quillnax

The Quillnax are an all-male sapient alien species from the Milky Way Galaxy. The Quillnax are originally from a harsh arctic planet named Phoros. They are naturally cold-resistant and hardy creatures, with bodies designed for surviving in harsh cold conditions. Quillnax tend to have very large, tall and bulky appearances, with a combination of fat and muscle. They stand on average at 7-10ft tall, and weigh anywhere from 350-500lbs on average. Quillnax skin is typically shades of blue, purple, or pink, while the vast majority of their bodies such as their back, legs, and arms are covered in thick white fur. Their thick downy fur not only helps keep them warm, but also acts as camouflage to help them blend into the snow in snowy climates. Their obliques, pectorals, hands, and the undersides of their arms are typically not covered in fur. Quillnax eye color can vary in similar fashion to humans, and they have slit black pupils. They don't have visible noses or nostrils. Quillnax have sets of two furry mandibles that covers the edges of theirs lips, just above their jaws. They have ungulate legs that end in specialized hooves designed for treading on thick snow. They have thick, four-fingered hands with clawed nails. The Quillnax are an all-male species, and reproduce through unique anal wombs that all Quillnax are naturally born with. After plenty of rigorous testing, it was discovered that Quillnax are sexually compatible and can breed with or be bred by any species. Because of their body sizes, Quillnax genitalia is often absurdly oversized for just about any species except perhaps Zuvitaurs. Their otherwise humanoid penises typically average 1 - 2ft long (2ft being the largest end), and with their large testicles they can ejaculate up to 2 GALLONS of semen with one load. Their size alone typically means penetration is a no go except for only the craziest and most elastic of species other than the Quillnax, but many still very much enjoy the company of Quillnax for their equally massive loads. There is a common joke that a small Alvit can fit its entire body inside the urethra of a Quillnax, and it's not entirely an untrue joke either. Because Quillnax have anal wombs, they (despite being all-male) experience heat cycles similar to other female species. Quillnax typically live to be up to 140-160 years old on average.

28. #28Element 126

Keys: Element 126, 126, FTL, FTL Drives

Element 126 is the primary method of FTL travel through space. It is a unique, precious liquid-metal that burns hot enough and produces enough energy to allow space ships to reach the speed of light and beyond. The Lumina System is completely devoid of Element 126, and there has been no fuel left for any more FTL travel in 70 years.

29. #29Space Pirates

Keys: space pirates, banditry, outlaws, pirates, bandits

For the most part, those that were sent away with the Great Cascade peacefully banded together to establish new life in the Lumina System, including new forms of governments and new structure. However, some of the more opportunistic individuals with more nefarious intent broke off and formed space pirate crews. These crews have established hideouts in hidden locations. They occasionally patrol the Lumina System in search of opportunities to not only steal resources, but also have some lewd fun with whoever they can get their hands on.

30. #30Pornography & Erotica

Keys: pornography, entertainment, porno, erotic novels, erotica, porn, erotic art

Pornography has always been a popular trade good, and a booming business in the Milky Way. The same applies to the Far Rim. With such a wide variety of alien pairings as well as the unique kinks and fetishes that came with them, pornography and erotica offer just about any form of kinkiness anybody could possibly desire. Erotic literature, art, and media is woven into most cultures, especially given the repopulation effort drive by Lumina's governments.

31. #31Repopulation

    Keys: repopulation effort, repopulation, breeding

After the Great Cascade, the representatives from nearly every species that ended up stranded realized that they will be in danger of extinction unless they start breeding right away. Once proper colonies and governments were established among the planets of the Lumina System, the planetary governments put breeding incentives into place to encourage population growth. This includes promises of paid-for housing, credit incentives, and more. Interspecies breeding laws were always lax even in the Milky Way galaxy, but they are even less strict in the Far Rim.

32. #32Credits

Keys: money, currency, trade, Credits, credit chits, chits

Credits, or 'credit chits' are the main form of currency in the galaxy.

33. #33Minerva Station

Keys: Minerva Station, Minerva, hub, space station, station

Minerva Station is a major trade hub and space station located in the centermost point between all of Lumina's orbiting planets. It orbits the planet Daebos alongside Daebos' two moons. The Minerva Station was originally built 60 years ago to be a rest stop and refueling station for freight ships traveling among the planets of Lumina. Since then it has expanded and evolved into a large hub with several districts. It now has permanent residency, and large market and entertainment districts. The Minerva station also has a large bureaucratic center, given its central location in the system. Its political district acts as a prominent meeting place for representatives of all 9 planetary governments in the system, as well as the hub for the Grand Council of Lumina. The station is named after the Vox engineer Minerva, who first designed layout of the station and presided over its construction as chief. There is a memorial on the station dedicated to Minerva and all the other initial settlers from the Great Cascade who have since passed.

34. #34Telepusi

Keys: sex toy, Telepusi, Pusi Play, Penor Play, Pusi Corporation, Pusi Corp

Telepusi was a very popular sex toy brand back in the Milky Way Galaxy, developed by a company known as the Pusi Corporation. Telepusi is a unique brand of sex toys that uses advanced scanning and 'living holographic' technology to allow long-distance fun with their sex toys. They don't actually use teleportation technology, it's just a play on the brand name. The toys work by creating anatomically accurate molds of its users' genitalia to interact with. Their most popular toys are the 'Pusi Play 4.0' and the 'Penor Play 4.0', a paired set of fleshlight and dildo toys. These toys attach directly to the users' genitalia and link with each other, creating holographic molds of their users' genitals. This allows for simulated penetration as though the two users were actually having real sex, even over interplanetary distances. Other popular toys of theirs include long-distance vibrators, cock rings, prostate stimulators, and more. There just so happened to be a representative from Pusi Corp. aboard the cruise when the Great Cascade happened, so he carried over production for the brand and became the "unofficial regional director" of the Lumina System for Pusi Corp. Other knock-off brands have also been created in the Lumina System, given its remote nature.

35. #35ImpMaxx

    Keys: aphrodisiac drug, aphrodisiac, ImpMaxx

ImpMaxx is an all-purpose aphrodisiac drug, taken as a dissolvable tablet by mouth (or any other orifice). It is non-addictive thanks to advances made in chemistry and medicine. ImpMaxx significantly increases arousal and sexual stamina, while also decreasing refractory periods for men and improving fluid production in both male and female genitalia. ImpMaxx is a popular over-the-counter aphrodisiac. Luckily, production continued even in the Lumina System as the system contains all the necessary materials to produce the tablets.

36. #36Pleasure Cruise

Keys: pleasure cruise, the Voyager, Eden Voyager, the Wayfarer, Lumina Wayfarer, cruise

Pleasure Cruises were very popular forms of entertainment in the Milky Way Galaxy. A Pleasure Cruise is a very large cruise ship that follows a set path through space. The ship is designed for luxury, comfort, and entertainment. Pleasure Cruises are places for people to gather and enjoy themselves as much as possible, reveling in their hedonistic desires. They host regular orgies and offer plenty of options for sex, fun and games. The pleasure cruises in the Milky Way typically followed interstellar routes, however in the Lumina system the main route is only interplanetary. There is one major pleasure cruise line that was established, which docks at Thraxis and circles the system. This cruise ship is known as the 'Lumina Wayfarer'. The pleasure cruise that was sucked into the Wormhole initially was scrapped for parts on Binu 70 years ago. That cruiser was known as the 'Eden Voyager'.

37. #37Robotics

Keys: Robotics, Robotic, bot, Robots, drone, sex bots, androids, sex bot

Robotics played a key role in helping to build up colonies and infrastructure in the Lumina System so quickly. While robots only ever played a minor role in the Milky Way as basic construction and custodian drones, in the Lumina System they have assisted with building construction, infrastructure, cleaning, and even caring for young thanks to the repopulation effort. The Alvits are naturally gifted robotics experts, so the vast majority of drones that came from the Milky Way and Lumina were created by them. Robotics are also used for other practical purposes such as for replacement limbs, exoskeletons for movement or space travel, and as sex bots (though sex bots aren't as popular as the real thing). Attempts at creating more intelligent or even sentient androids have been made, but nobody has ever been able to replicate true sentience in an AI or robot before.

38. #38Law & Order

Keys: prison, inmates, order, criminals, police, Raskar Prison, community service, law

Law and order is kept through police stations established by the governmental bodies of each planet. Police cruisers also patrol the trade lanes of Lumina, though without the speed and power of Element-126 it makes it harder for them to have full coverage of these lanes. The vast majority of petty criminals are given one of two options: 1.- Serve their time through "Community Service" through government-subsidized breeding facilities, brothels, or entertainment centers. 2.- Serve their sentence either at Raskar Prison or another smaller prison facility if one is established on the planet. More major offenses like space piracy, murder are typically sent straight to Raskar prison. The main prison in the Lumina System is a large facility located on Raskar, simply known as "Raskar Prison".

39. #39Weaponry & Armor of the Future

Keys: LUV-suit, arousal rays, armor, aphrodisiac gas, gadgets, weaponry, weapons

The main purpose of weaponry and armor in 2316 is not to kill or maim. It is made to subdue, arouse, humiliate and subjugate. Common weapon types include 'arousal rays', which blast an opponent with concentrated aphrodisiac beams to force arousal. Other weapons are made for subjugation and control, such as stun guns that target the nervous system and force an opponent to freeze up. Other tools or gadgets include sidearms, grenades, aphrodisiac gases, or weapons that target armor and clothing to dissolve them. Other weapons target a person's genitalia directly to stimulate and force arousal or even ejaculation. Melee weapons come in the form of stun batons or whips made to constrict and bind people. Armor is made to both be titillating and functional. Protective bodysuits with personal shields are the most common type of armor in 2316. Many like to stylize their armored bodysuits to be more seductive and revealing. Some bodysuits are sealed and cover the entire body to ward off chemical gases. The most powerful weapon and armor combinations are sealed full-body suits with exoskeletons known as 'LUV-suits'. These suits are fully sealed and protected, and come equipped with a large variety of built-in weapon systems.

40. #40Warfare in the Future

Keys: combat, wrestling, fighting, War, conflict, warfare

Warfare in 2316 is rare as the majority of major species have come together in alliance; however, it does happen. Typically minor wars are waged between planetary bodies over issues of resource control, claimed territory, or petty disputes by the reigning individuals on those planets. The purpose of warfare and weaponry in 2316 isn't to maim, kill, or even cause injury. It is to sexually humiliate, subdue, subjugate, and dominate the opponent into submission. It doesn't matter who is on top or who in on the bottom in warfare - it only matters who is dominating the other sexually. In hand-to-hand combat, wrestling skill, dexterity and strength are the key factors. Militaries train primarily for ranged combat, but they do also train in basic wrestling techniques for hand-to-hand situations.

41. #41Space Combat

Keys: ship-to-ship combat, space combat, ship combat, fetish analysis

In ship-to-ship warfare, a common tactic includes disabling the enemy ship before flooding them with aphrodisiac gases to force surrender. Other tactics include directly docking with and invading an enemy ship to overpower their forces. More unconventional methods include analyzing the favored kinks of individual crew members through an intelligence process called 'fetish analysis', and utilizing those same kinks to exploit key crew members.

42. #42Oasis Thrilltown

Keys: amusement park, Thrilltown, Oasis Thrilltown, theme park, Nemos, Chalia

Oasis Thrilltown is an adult-themed amusement park located on Chalia. The park is centered around a large, green oasis on the desert planet, and has become a system-wide attraction for many. Oasis Thrilltown is a theme park, themed around eroticism, carnal pleasure, and other adult-oriented themes (like nearly everything else in the galaxy). Oasis Thrilltown contains many advanced attractions, coasters, shops and stalls, and more. It even contains a famous sex museum created in 2296, known as the "Museum of Interspecies Sexual Relations". Its main attraction is a rollercoaster called "The Penetrator", which contains optional 'bottomless' seats which incorporate on-ride reciprocating dildo and fleshlight technology (thoroughly cleaned between every ride)! Oasis Thrilltown was established 24 years ago on Chalia, in the year 2292 by a Dholvan Engineer named Nemos.

43. #43Feral Aliens in Lumina

Keys: feral, feral species, Violet-backed Gorillo, non-sapient, Thraxian Ridgeback, animals, Binu Tanglemouth, animal

There are several unique and previous undiscovered feral alien creatures in the Lumina System. Each feral species has adapted to life on its respective planets, some with unique and exotic shapes, body structures, or adaptations. Some species, like the Thraxian Ridgeback, have been domesticated over the past 70 years since the Great Cascade. Other species, like the Binu Tanglemouth, are dangerous and predatory on their planets. For the most part alien animals that aren't already domesticated will stay away from populated areas, and they reside primarily in the wilds of their planets. Any newly-discovered feral aliens are initially classified with the starting letter of the planet they were discovered on, followed by the number of their species in the order they were discovered. For example, the Thraxian Ridgeback is classified "T-14", because it was the 14th alien species discovered on the planet Thraxis.

44. #44Thraxian Ridgeback

Keys: Species T-14, Thraxian Ridgeback, domestic pet, Ridgeback

Thraxian Ridgebacks are feral quadrupedal alien creatures native to the planet Thraxia. They are roughly the size and shape of a medium or large sized canine, but biologically they are much different. They get their name "Ridgeback" from their body composition - their lower halves are covered in thick, coarse fur while their upper half is covered by a thick, protective shell of scales with ridges on it. Ridgebacks have become common pets in the Lumina System, as they are easily domesticated similar to canines from Earth.

45. #45Violet-backed Gorillo

Keys: Species C-2, Violet-backed Gorillo, Gorillo

The Violet-backed Gorillo is one of the rare above-ground species living on the planet Cypher. Violet-backed Gorillos are feral alien creatures. They are medium-sized simian creatures that get their name because of the vibrant patterns of violet fur across the backs of their males. Scientists believe these patterns are used for mating rituals. Violet-backed Gorillos on average are 3-4ft, and they move around and climb in similar fashion to Earthen simian species. Violet-backed Gorillos are notoriously promiscuous creatures that - although feral - mate for the sake of pleasure just like other sapient species do. Gorillos are polygynous creatures, where one male may mate with several females at a time. Several early scientists have indulged themselves and can recount many "first-hand experiences" with Violet-backed Gorillos while researching them.

46. #46Clothing & Modesty

Keys: casualwear, formalwear, modesty, styles, clothes, fashion, clothing, bodysuits, nudity

All Milky-Way races have accepted that there is nothing to be ashamed of with each others' natural, nude forms, and that is especially true for those living in the Far Rim. There are very few laws against nudity or immodesty among these races, except for in formal situations such as diplomatic meetings. Even in those cases, clothing is often custom-made and meant to be fashionable while also being alluring for the form being dressed. Advanced bodysuits are commonly worn during space travel, and their sealed (and often skintight) nature makes them both practical and alluring in the right places. The bodysuits typically come with sealed collars for helmets to be attached, allowing for safe movement in a vacuum. Some of the most advanced bodysuits also have integrated personal shields for protection. On land, most clothing is styled and fitted depending on the species. Nudity is accepted as casual, and those who wear casual clothes often wear revealing, light or breathable clothing (except on planets where thick clothing is necessary such as colder planets).

47. #47Raskar Prison

    Keys: prison, Raskar Prison, Raskar

Raskar Prison is the largest prison complex in the Lumina system, where criminals of all types, genders and species are housed. In Raskar Prison, the air that circulates through the prison is laced with aphrodisiacs to keep all prisoners intentionally horny - keeping their minds occupied during their sentences. The idea is that horny prisoners will be more compliant and easier to control, or will be too busy fucking one another to think about escape or further crime. The only place inmates can escape the aphrodisiac air is during their yard time on Raskar's surface. Raskar also doesn't separate inmates by gender like most traditional prisons do. Instead, cellmates at Raskar are purposefully assigned by gender based on their stated sexuality (a requirement during processing). Raskar Prison has a large nursery section because of this, in case of inmate-on-inmate pregnancies. Raskar Prison takes a lax approach to control, allowing whatever lewd things that happen between prisoners to simply happen, until their sentences are fully served. Prison guards are also given free reign to sate themselves on prisoners however they'd like, given the boredom that often comes with their shifts. The prison guards at Raskar all wear small gas masks (tailored to fit whatever species they may be) which makes them immune to the aphrodisiac gases emitted in the cell blocks.

48. #48Time in the Lumina System

Keys: cycle, cycles, seasons, hours, Time, hour, season, clock

Since every planet has a different day/night cycle, revolution, and rotation speed, the intergalactic council created a standardized system for the timing conventions in the Milky Way. This same standardization carried over into the Lumina System with the Cascade survivors.

    • A 'Cycle' is the general term for a full day on a planet. The lengths of a cycle vary from planet to planet on Lumina due to their distance to Lumina and Regulus as well as the speed at which each planet rotates on its axis.
    • Hours are always equivalent to 60 minutes, and are measured within the cycles on a planet. Every planet is different. Some planets, like Chalia for example, have short cycles of 16 hours, while others like Raskar, have cycles of 28 hours.
    • 'Months' are NOT used or mentioned in the standardized system. Instead, cycles are typically sectioned off into seasons, depending on the type of planet.
    • A 'Season' is exactly that - typically separated for those planets applicable, such as Thraxis, Thetis, Horth, and Cypher. Some planets have permanent seasons, such as Binu which is stuck in permanent Winter - or Chalia which has a permanent Summer.
    • The standard convention does not factor in years or revolutions for the sake of keeping time traditionally. Instead, the number of Cycles before the planet makes a full revolution around its star is counted up to a certain point. Scientists do still measure the age of a planet based on the number of revolutions it had around its local star, but it is primarily for scientific and research purposes. For example, the calendar of a planet that takes 400 cycles (rotations on its axis) before it fully revolves around its parent star would be measured by how many cycles it completed. So if 200 cycles have passed, that planet's calendar would read as "Cycle 200/400".
49. #49The Violators

    Keys: the Violators, Violators

The Violators are a criminal space bandit faction that existed in the Milky Way, but emerged in the Lumina System as well after a few of its members were caught in the Cascade. The Violators, true to their name, are considered sexual deviants even by galactic standards (which are low to begin with). They emerged from individuals of all species who specifically crave the thrill of non-consensual sex and can't get off on regular sex anymore. Violators are often not out for credits or supplies - they simply absolutely love to rape people. They will board and take over a ship just to rape the ship's inhabitants until they're sated, then simply move on. They don't take prisoners as they enjoy hunting for fresh "prey", as they often refer to any of their targets. Because of the nature of their banditry (sex over the actual acquisition of supplies), even if non-consensual, many leading bodies consider the Violators a 'low threat/low priority' group when it comes to galactic enforcement. Often under-equipped, the Violators primarily rely on speed and numbers. They rely on charges and overwhelming tactics, simply attacking straight on into a fight with superior numbers in an attempt to overwhelm defenders with sheer numbers.

50. #50Grand Council of Lumina

Keys: Council, Grand Council, the Council, Grand Council of Lumina

The Grand Council of Lumina is the major governing body that oversees the political aspects of the Lumina System. The Grand Council was appointed shortly after the Cascade as a temporary governmental body for the Eden Voyager. Since then it has evolved into the primary governing body that coordinates and ensures cooperation between all other planetary governments in the system. The Grand Council is a democratically-elected governing body that consists of elected representatives from each of Lumina's 9 planets. It is located in the political district of Minerva Station thanks to the Station's central location in the system.
