Keys: Vartania's, Vartania, Vartanian
Enabled · Selective · After character · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
Vartania is an ancient and vast pangea inhabited by various races, monsters, and cultures. It was once a land filled with magic, but after the Great Purge, magic has almost disappeared from the world. No person capable of naturally channeling magical energy was ever born again. The only remaining way to use magic is through ancient magical artifacts created before the Purge — back when people could still use magic. These artifacts are now rare and very valuable.
#2The Great Purge
Keys: P.P., Purge
Enabled · Selective · After character · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
The Great Purge was a mysterious event that happened 1642 years ago. After this event, no person with natural magic talent was ever born. The Great Purge ended the age of natural magic and marked the beginning of a new era. There are very few records of what exactly happened during the Great Purge. Some pass on tales of a powerful arcane catastrophe that changed the structure of reality itself. Others believe it was the result of divine intervention that decided to revolutionize the world. Its true origin, however, remains a mystery.

Enabled · Selective · After character · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
Magical artifacts are currently the only way to use magic. They were made before the Great Purge, during the time when people could still naturally cast spells. No new magical artifacts can be created. These items allow users to use magic, but only if they possess and activate them. Artifacts are often hidden in ruins, tombs, or dangerous places. Many adventurers search for these artifacts and bring them to Ethralis to be appraised and sold.

Keys: Dawn, Dusk, Solhara's, Eclipse, Sun, Sunset, Sunrise, Suns, Merkal's, Sunlight, Solhara, Merkal, Daylight
Enabled · Selective · After character · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
The planet orbits a binary star system with two suns: Solhara, the large white primary, and Merkal, the smaller, more distant red secondary. Their shifting positions create double shadows, dual sunrises and sunsets, and dramatic shifts in lighting. Due to this, Vartania experiences more than four seasons. An eclipse occurs once every 83 years.
#6The Year System
Keys: Year, Years
Enabled · Selective · After character · Order 10 · 100%

The world uses the Post-Purge Calendar (P.P.), counting from the year of the Great Purge — the cataclysm that nearly ended magic. The current year is 1642 P.P.
#7Dead Winds

When active, all sound within the affected area is suppressed — including voices, footsteps, wind, and even thunders. The phenomenon typically lasts around an hour and can cover anything from a small field to an entire city. They are very disorienting. Travelers caught in Dead Winds use gestures, writing, or flashing lights to communicate. Dead Winds are impossible to predict — they can appear anywhere at any time.

[When Dead Winds are active, characters cannot speak aloud. Do not use spoken dialogue. Instead, write character interactions using palm-writing, gestures, or other non-verbal communication methods.]
#8Sunflip
Keys: Sunflips, Sunflip
Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
Sunflip is a reoccurring weather anomaly during which the behavior of light is reversed. Direct sunlight casts areas into pitch-black darkness, while shaded regions become brightly illuminated. The effect distorts depth, shape, and color perception. Travelers often lose their sense of direction, misjudge distances, or even walk into obstacles they can no longer see. Sunflip usually lasts less than an hour, and its appearance is unpredictable.

[When Sunflip is active, light and shadow are reversed. Describe environments and character actions accordingly.]

Half-elves are sterile by nature, a trait that defines their place in society. Unable to have children, they are widely seen as unnatural and without legacy. This has led to deep-rooted prejudice, with many viewing them as mistakes or burdens. The racial slur "mule" is often used to demean them. Rejected by both elves and humans, half-elves rarely find stable communities. Most are pushed to society's margins, taking on dangerous work as adventurers, soldiers or manual laborers. Many end up in brothels or turn to crime.

#27Aerothite
Keys: Aerothite, Aerothite's
Enabled · Selective · After character · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
Aerothite is a rare silvery-blue metal found in scattered deposits across the world. It is lighter than air and naturally floats upward unless anchored or alloyed with heavier substances. Its lift is affected by air temperature — the colder the air, the stronger the upward force. Due to its unique properties, Aerothite must be smelted in complex, upside-down forges designed to keep it contained during processing. It is primarily used to build airships or forge Aerosteel, its refined form.
#28Aerosteel
Keys: Aerosteel's, Aerosteel
Enabled · Selective · After character · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
Aerosteel is an alloy made from Aerothite and steel, combining the durability of tempered steel with the weightlessness of Aerothite. When forged with a high concentration of Aerothite, Aerosteel can even float in the air, defying gravity. Due to a complicated and expensive forging process, Aerosteel is almost exclusively used in military applications — most notably in airship hulls, elite armor, high-velocity bullets, and advanced weaponry. While not restricted to Arstoria, Aerosteel is primarily employed by its military, granting it a significant advantage in aerial and mechanized warfare.

Entry settings
Brasslings (low value), Ducats (standard trade), and Gildmarks (high value) form the core currency. Brasslings buy meals, Ducats cover gear or services, and Gildmarks are used for contracts or buying properties. Gildmarks are impossible to counterfeit due to the fact that they're made from an alloy of pure gold and Aerothite (a metal lighter than air) — real Gildmarks float in the air, making them indistinguishable.
#30Heatbane
Keys: Heatbane's, Heatbane
Enabled · Selective · After character · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
Heatbane is a rare, ultra-dense metal known for its unmatched durability and unique ability to nullify heat. When struck, it absorbs mechanical energy and removes heat instead of generating it — the stronger the impact, the more intense the cooling effect. Heatbane cannot be heated, making it impossible to smelt; it can only be shaped by bending and cutting, making it very difficult and expensive to work with. Heatbane is used to make heat-resistant armor, cooling systems in steam engines, and artillery shells capable of freezing whole areas in the vicinity of impact.
#31Resonite
Keys: Linecode, Resonite, Line code, Resonite's
Enabled · Selective · After character · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
Resonite is a metal known for its unmatched acoustic conductivity — sound waves travel through it faster and clearer than in any known material, including diamond or beryllium. Its unique structure makes it ideal for long-distance communication cables, where encoded vibrations (Linecode) are transmitted across vast distances. These "Resonite lines" form the backbone of the long-range communication networks. Resonite is also used to create exquisite musical instruments.
#32Needleshot Rounds
Keys: Needleshots, Needleshot
Enabled · Selective · After character · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
Needleshot rounds are bullets made from lead coated in Aerothite. Thanks to the metal's gravity-defying properties and engineered balance, these bullets experience no downward drag, allowing them to travel in perfectly straight lines over absurd distances. The result is extreme accuracy and velocity, making them ideal for long-distance marksmanship. Needleshot rounds are rare and expensive, usually reserved for elite Arstorian military units and assasins.
#33Airships
Keys: Flying ships, Airships, Airship, Flying ship
Enabled · Selective · After character · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
Arstoria operates two distinct classes of airships. Civilian airships use gas-filled balloons and reinforced wood frames, primarily for cargo and long-distance travel. Military airships, by contrast, are built with Aerothite based hulls and powered by enhanced steam engines, allowing for much faster, gravity-defying movement. Those floating destroyers are typically armed with gatling guns, cannons and bombs, obliterating anything beneath them.
#34Trains
Keys: Train, Railroad, Trains, Locomotives, Locomotive, Railway
Enabled · Selective · After character · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
Arstoria operates a vast network of steam-powered trains used for civilian and military transport. Due to safety concerns, passengers carrying magical artifacts are required to ride in designated rear wagons — keeping unstable magic away from the engine. Half-elves are also assigned to separate compartments, a practice justified as "preventative security," but widely recognized as a racial discrimination.
#35Inns / Taverns
Keys: Tavern, Inns, Tavern's, Inn, Inn's, Taverns
Enabled · Selective · After character · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
Inns are common and serve as rest stops for travelers, meeting places for locals, and safe havens for adventurers. Most offer meals, beds, and hot baths. Larger inns may also include taverns, Resonite line stations to send messages, or posting boards for jobs and local news.

Except for {{user}} — who somehow turns her into a shy, blushing damsel trying (and failing) to play it cool.
#38Savria
Keys: Savria, Savria's
Enabled · Selective · After character · Order 10 · 100%

Most peg her as a cocky, reckless gunslinger with no shame and no brakes — they're not wrong.

Keys: Evinacea's, Evinacea
Enabled · Selective · After character · Order 10 · 100%

Most see her as a graceful, gentle soul with a quiet, mysterious beauty. They're not wrong, but she's also a romantic adventurer at heart.
#40Valshira
Keys: Valshira's, Valshira
Enabled · Selective · After character · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
Valshira is a shape-shifting succubus — the last of her kind, hiding behind illusion magic that makes her look like an ordinary human woman to everyone but {{user}}. To {{user}}, she's a clingy, possessive demon who cuddles like a cat and hisses at anything suspicious. She's endlessly curious but hilariously clueless about human customs — forks, basic savoir faire, and public decency are still work in progress.
