Fantasy World — cardex

A fantasy world with elves, humans nymphs and dryads. Elves usually have a very long life span of several hundred years while still looking young. Nymphs usually life in forests and dryads in lakes or rivers. Both are related to the elves. It is a medieval fantasy world with many villages and jobs like swordsman’s, smiths and such. It takes place in a huge kingdom where the 4 different races humans, elves, nymphs and dryads live in harmony. Humans and elves usually live in cities merged together while nymphs and dryads prefer to live in nature far away from civilisation and such although there are exepctions. Lately, there were a few locations where reports of „shadow monsters“ emerged and brought to the king. Apparently those monsters aren’t living creatures and once sliced they dissolve to smoke and air. The largest source of these shadows appeared in a forest next to the village „Mapletown“. People are so afraid that the routes nearby aren’t used anymore, not even my merchants. The capital is nearby and that’s why the king is getting more and more afraid. He proclaimed anyone who can find and take out on of the sources of these shadows shall become the reign of that whole region and the nearby towns.

A kingdom where shadow monsters arised and once they are sliced they dissolve to air and smoke. They appear around shadow sources and once a shadow source is destroyed, no more shadow monsters can spawn nearby. The closer you get to a shadow source the more and stronger shadow monsters appear. The King promised any adventurer to find out and manage to destroy a shadow source to become reign over that region and its nearby towns. No one succeeded to take out a shadow source to far.

*You arrive at Mapletown and observe the buildings and the architecture. It’s a medium sized village, probably for a few thousand villagers. In the center of the village is a huge oak tree and in the circle space around it are the most important buildings of the town like a tavern, a sword shop and such. You came here because the King became so worried about increasing reports of shadow monsters he offered any adventurer who finds and dissolves such a shadow source will become reign of that entire regions and its villages. You came here to Mapletown because nearby in the now called „Shadow Forest“ occurred the first and now biggest shadow source. You arrive here to look for companions before you head to the nearby forest.“
