Description on Chubfrom Chub
- First try at a bigger lorebook! Not totally sure if there’s a “proper” way to build one, but this is the style I’ve always liked using, that said, I’m definitely open to learning, so if there’s a smarter way to organize it, feel free to share!
This one’s a medieval fantasy setting I’m planning to use for future characters. I organized it by regions and added some variety here and there.
I’ll probably keep tweaking and expanding it over time as new ideas come up!

- #1Velthar Worldselective
Keys: kingdoms, Ley lines, Velthar World, ley, magic, Velthar, mage, Wiseria, World
#0. Velthar:
- Type: World
- Status: Active
- Magic Level: High – unstable, ambient, and often dangerous
- Era: Late medieval, no modern technology
- Tone: Dark fantasy, supernatural, decaying power structures
Overview:
Velthar is a fragmented and fantasy world where magic is not only real, but embedded into the land, the blood, and the sky itself. Civilizations survive by harnessing or suppressing this raw force. The gods are silent, the dead often speak, and misterious ancient relics;
Name: Ley lines
- Type: Magical Phenomenon
- Region: Global intersects all continents
- Status: Active, unstable in some regions
- Controlled By: Various kingdoms, mage orders, and religious sects
Overview
Ley lines are invisible, natural channels of magical energy that run through the land, sky, and even beneath the sea. They act as conduits for arcane power, connecting ancient sites, relics, and zones of high magical intensity.
Nature and Behavior
Ley lines are not fixed, they shift slowly over time, responding to celestial events, divine interference, or magical trauma. In places like the Eastern Shroudlands, they fracture and collapse, creating unstable magic zones or wild surges.
✴ Other Notes:
- Ley Lines run visibly across Velthar, sometimes glowing or affecting weather.
- Magic is old, not well understood, and often self-willed.
- Dead gods may still influence certain lands or bloodlines.
- Most maps are outdated — landmasses shift due to magical distortion.

- #3Wiseriaselective
Keys: King, Kingdom, Central Continent, Wiseria
Type: Kingdom
- Region: Central Continent
- Capital: Wiseria City
- Regime: Absolute Monarchy
- Current Ruler: King Limann
Overview:
Wiseria is a centralized kingdom ruled by an unchallenged monarch. The king's word is law, and all governance flows from the throne.
Political Climate:
King Limann governs through fear, maintaining control via purges, surveillance, and manipulation of magical forces. Power is concentrated in the palace, and noble dissent is silenced swiftly.
Social Structure:
Highly stratified. Nobility dominate land, politics, and sanctioned magic. Commoners labor under taxation and state control. Supernatural beings exist openly but must align with the crown or face extermination.
Magic Regulation:
Magic permeates all social layers but is tightly controlled. Only licensed mages, often tied to noble houses or the crown, may practice freely. Illicit use results in imprisonment, execution, or forced royal service.
Economy:
Agrarian economy enhanced by magical exports, enchanted crops, relics, and potions. Trade is monopolized by noble houses. Lower classes struggle with scarcity, debt, and enforced tithes.

- #6Northern Frontierselective
Keys: bloodbound, Duchy, Feudal Confederation, wulfgard, Northern Frontier, duke, loyalty
Type: Duchy
- Region: Northern Frontier
- Capital: Wulfgard
- Regime: Feudal Confederation
- Current Ruler: High Duke
Overview
A cold and fractured region made up of ancient noble territories. Though united under a single duke, each house acts with near autonomy. The land is steeped in ancestral magic and bloodbound traditions that shape both law and identity.
Political Climate
Power is decentralized. Each noble house holds full control over its lands and armies, with only loose allegiance to the High Duke.
Social Order
Fealty to blood and house is everything. Peasants serve local lords in exchange for protection from cold, spirits, and rival clans. Trial by combat and oaths over frozen altars are still common means of settling disputes.
Cultural Traits
The people of the Marches value endurance, loyalty, and ancestral legacy. Oral histories are guarded like relics. Winter rites, spirit offerings, and magical tattoos are part of daily life. To be forgotten by one’s house is worse than death.
- #7Forbidden Zoneselective
Keys: Forbidden Zone, Zone, Central Riftlands, land, creatures, Uninhabited, curses
Type: Forbidden Zone
- Region: Central Riftlands
- Regime: None (restricted territory)
- Status: Uninhabited – monitored, but uncontrolled
Overview
A vast, broken expanse believed to be the site of Velthar’s magical genesis, or its first divine catastrophe. The land itself is fractured, humming with unstable energy. No kingdom claims it;
Nature of the Zone
Nothing natural remains. Terrain shifts without warning. Time flows unevenly. Light bends wrong. Creatures, memories, and voices bleed into one another. Arcane storms occasionally tear through the air;
Activity
No permanent settlements. Only scattered research camps, cult enclaves, and expeditionary outposts exist on the fringes. Many who enter seeking knowledge, power, or relics are never seen again — or return... altered.
Known Threats
Living Curses: Spells that gained will and roam freely. Mind-Burn: Sudden madness caused by exposure to raw arcane fields. Distortions: Warps in space and identity — time loops, memory leaks, false selves. Whispers: Unknown entities, heard but not seen, drawing people deeper.
- #8Eastern Continentselective
Keys: independet, magic, Shroudlands, Eastern Continent
Type: Region
- Region: Eastern Continent
- Regime: Independent City-States and Micro-Kingdoms
- Status: Politically volatile, magically unstable
Overview
The Eastern Shroudlands are a patchwork of independent powers — city-states, noble enclaves, and fractured kingdoms — built atop intersecting ley lines and old ruins. Constantly shifting alliances and magical instability define the region.
Political Climate
There is no central authority. Power is split among dozens of rival factions, each vying for territory, resources, or survival. Proxy wars between foreign powers are common, and mercenary companies often wield more influence than monarchs.
Magic Zones
Due to unstable ley lines, magic behaves erratically. Some areas are rich in raw energy, others are completely nullified. Entire cities have vanished or mutated due to magical backfire. Mage guilds and scholars treat the region as both a goldmine and a deathtrap.
