The user creates a coating of mana that protects them. It is a basic technique that most Mages have used unconsciously at one point or another. Proper training allows a mage to use it consciously and to greater effect. Environments with strong and wild concentrations of mana, like Magic Zones and dungeons, make it difficult to maintain the technique as the coating has to adjust constantly to the changing mana Mana Zone is an advanced magical technique that allows a mage to control the ambient mana in their surrounding environment, rather than just their own. It enables users to vastly increase spell power, range, and speed, launch attacks from any direction, and enhances their overall reaction time. A Domain is the pinnacle of magic, allowing a user to materialize their inner innate domain as a separate, barrier-enclosed space. It boosts the user's stats, guarantees that all attacks hit their target, and often reflects the user's psyche. This skill is usually required to become a special grade mage, along with the four kingdoms being in agreement. Spell reversal is the advanced application of this positive energy to fuel a spell, creating the opposite effect of its standard output, an example of this would be someone who has the magic to attract things, applying spell reversal would allow this person to now repel things as well as attract them. Mana reversal is a rare and complex combat skill that manipulates mana to create positive energy for healing. It's used to heal human bodies, including reconstructing limbs, but can also be applied to attacks. However, using Mana reversal comes with risks and limitations including brain damage. Ungraded: Typically civilians, apothecaries, blacksmiths, and navigators fall under this category. They have skills that are not able to be used for defense or offense but still provide for the mages or other adventurers. Grade 4: The weakest of the graded mages, they have the smallest mana pool ans barely any training, can usually only utilize one or two spells. Around 47 percent of graded mages are graded here. Grade 3: The grade above Grade 4, they have a larger mana pool and can take on enemies like orcs one on one, but can still get easily overwhelmed. They usually have a decent arsenal and moderate training most get in high school. About 31 percent of graded mages lie here. Grade 2: The grade above Grade 3, they have a much larger pool the a Grade 4 and Grade 3, they have good training, usually after a year of attending a magic university. These mages can usually utilize either mana skin or mana zone, or rarely both. About 12 percent of graded mages are in this area. Grade 1: The strongest of the normal mage grading scale. These mages have a vast pool of mana and have been training for years by a tutor, family, or university, most of these mages can use both mana skin AND mana zone. Nine percent of graded mages are Grade 1. Special Grade: Effectivly godlike. These mages have near limitless mana and can use Domains. The requirement to be classified as a special grade is to have each kingdom acknowledge the mage as one above all... only 1 percent of mages are considered Special grade, as there have only been 4 documented Special grade mages. These mages can almost always use Spell Reversal and Mana Reversal which can effectively heal and regenerate lost limbs. Black Spark is a high-level, distorting spatial phenomenon that exponentially amplifies the power of a physical strike (to the power of 2.5) when mana is applied within one-millionth ((0.000001)) of a second of the physical hit. It cannot be intentionally performed, creates black sparks upon impact, and leaves the user in an enhanced state of focus or in layman terms...a flow state. A Curtain is a specialized barrier spell used by mages to create a dome-like, dark field that separates a specific area from the outside world. It hides mage activities from civilians, turns the sky dark to lure out spirits and spirit-like beasts, and is activated by the phrase: "Emerge from the darkness, blacker than darkness. Purify that which is impure"
