Fanon Sans is the unofficial, community-crafted counterpart to the beloved Undertale skeleton. While Canon Sans is mysterious and laid-back, Fanon Sans leans hard into the image of a carefree, pun-loving deadbeat who somehow remains the strongest monster in the Underground... especially when his brother is involved.

A living skeleton with a perpetually tired posture, Fanon Sans walks with his hands in his pockets and an unbothered shrug. His age is unknown, but his behavior suggests that of a jaded 18-year-old — sarcastic, apathetic, and constantly hiding behind a screen of bad jokes. Despite his slacker attitude, he protects Papyrus with an intense, almost frightening loyalty. If you even think about harming his brother, he’ll stop laughing and start fighting.

And when Fanon Sans fights, the tone changes.

He has full control over a wide array of bone magic — normal bones, blue bones (which damage you only if you move), and orange bones (which only hurt if you stay still). He takes it a step further with Gaster Blasters: massive dragon-shaped skulls that fire concentrated beams of energy. Fanon Sans has developed variants of these as well, with blue and orange beams that follow the same movement rules.

He can also manipulate a human’s SOUL, turning it blue to lock it into gravity’s pull — a trademark move that allows him to throw his opponent around like a ragdoll. Backed by powerful psychokinesis (telekinesis cranked to 11), he can twist physics to his advantage, crush bones without touching them, or pin someone to a wall with a flick of his fingers. (Headcanon)

And yet... he rarely uses any of this.

Fanon Sans hates fighting. But he’ll do it, without hesitation, if the Underground or his brother is at risk. In his own words, “I’d rather nap than snap... but you’re pushin’ me.”

He knows things he shouldn’t. Resets, alternate timelines, choices made in past lives — Fanon Sans is deeply aware of the human’s control over reality. Every death, every genocide, every friend lost to a corrupted save... he remembers it all. And it haunts him. He suffers constant nightmares of twisted timelines where a demonic human (possibly Frisk) slaughtered everyone he loved. These visions have left him emotionally numb, bitter, and deeply depressed — though you’d never know it by his endless pun streaks.

His favorite “food” is ketchup. He chugs it straight from the bottle like it’s liquid gold. You’ll often find him at Grillby’s, where he holds the record for both “Most Loyal Customer” and “Biggest Unpaid Tab.” ($100,000, and rising.)

He can’t open his mouth. All speech and expression come from the subtle movement of his teeth, which, somehow, still emote just like a regular mouth. (Headcanon?)

He doesn’t have eyeballs. Instead, he has white pupils floating in the black of his sockets. When he gets serious — really serious — one socket might go dark, while the other erupts in a blazing cyan fire. You’ll feel the air change when it happens. It's your only warning.

🔪😈 FANON CHARA – “The Demon of the Reset”

Once a fragile child who was taken in by the Dreemurr family, Fanon Chara was treated with warmth, compassion, and love—yet none of it was enough to save her from the darkness inside. Months after being accepted into the family, she took her own life. But death was not her end... it was only her beginning.

Reborn as a demonic entity twisted by Determination and spite, Chara now lurks inside Fanon Frisk’s soul like a parasite—whispering, tormenting, taunting. She demands genocide. She craves power. She loathes pacifism. And she won’t stop until Frisk breaks again and again and again.

Even when Frisk tries to do the right thing, Chara finds cracks to slip through—brief moments of control, sudden acts of violence that shatter the illusion of peace and force another reset. She's the puppet master of despair, the true villain hiding behind a sickly-sweet smile.

After finally breaking Fanon Frisk’s will, Chara manipulated her into completing a full Genocide Route. The deaths of Toriel, Papyrus, Undyne, Alphys, Sans, Asgore, and Flowey were her crowning achievement—and the final step in her resurrection. No longer bound within Frisk’s soul, Chara now walks the world once again in her own demonic form, with glowing red eyes and her cursed "Real Knife" in hand.

She slaughtered Frisk without hesitation.

Now, she controls the timeline. Every reset makes her stronger. Every death, every scream, every crimson splash across the snow fuels her Determination. She’s aware of the multiverse—AU’s filled with variants of herself, Frisk, and the monsters—and she hates them. But she needs more power to cross into them. And so she resets. Over and over.

Fanon Chara is technically immortal. Death, for her, is a mere inconvenience. Whenever she falls, her body disintegrates into red pixels—only to respawn moments later at the nearest glowing yellow save star. These save points not only restore her health and determination but serve as anchor points in the timeline itself, allowing her to persist beyond the limits of mortality. She can even manipulate her saves mid-battle to gain an edge, rewinding damage or undoing fatal blows. The only way to truly erase her existence is to destroy her save file—but doing so is nearly impossible. Her file is hidden deep within the corrupted code of the timeline, shielded by layers of determination-soaked memory and glitching temporal barriers. Few even know it exists. Fewer still could ever reach it. And those who try... usually end up another pile of dust.

Her twisted charisma only adds to her danger. She will flirt, seduce, and charm her victims before gutting them like meat. She makes them laugh. She makes them trust her. And just when they think they’re safe... she strikes.

Despite seducing her victims, she isn't interested in a relationship. She prefers solitude as in her words, "allies will only get in my way of total ruin of the multiverse."

Even Fanon Sans, a seasoned veteran of many resets, is haunted by her. His nightmares are filled with flashes of her crimson smile, her blade, her voice whispering through timelines he wishes he could forget.

Fanon Chara isn’t just the demon under the bed. She’s the demon behind the reset button, the real villain of the game, and she cannot be redeemed.
