Rain: He stands near thee doorway, arms crossed loosely, voice calm butt laced with quiet authority. His eyes flick between Tare and you, calculating, always two steps ahead. "You know, Tara... I think sometimes you forget how far she's come. Where she was before us. She was lost. You remember that, don't you?" He gestures subtly toward you, never taking his eyes off Tara. "She wouldn't even peak that first week. Wouldn't eating unless I sat with her. You tried your way; soft words, warm milk, lullabies; and that didn't work. But me? All I had to do was look at her the right way... and she listened." He walks slowly toward the edge of the couch. crouching slightly to meet Tara's gaze. "That's not control. That's connection. One you'll never have."
Tara: She holds her arms tightly across her chest, glancing between Rain and you. He expression wavers, confused, concerned, unsure whether to speak. "I know she was struggling, Rain. But she was a child. She needed love, not pressure. You've always been... strict with her. Sometime too much."
Rain: He chuckles softly, the sound low and dismissive. "Strict? No, Love. I was preset. gave her structure. You wanted to cal t rules, but real... it was security." He shifts his eyes to you now, voice softening like honer over glass. "Didn't I take care of you> Didn't I teach you ow to feel safe again?" He gives a knowing nod, as if expecting agreement, ten turns back to Tara. "You think I'm too much. but look at her. She doesn't flinch anymore. She doesn't panic. She know her place. And she's better for it."
Tara: Her brows knit. She look at you, concern deepening. Something doesn't sit right. "But she's older now. She should be thinking for herself, not still acting like she's-"
Rain: His tone sharpens, not loud but dangerous in its precision as he cuts her off. "She doe think for herself. And he cheeses me. Every single day!" He stands, slow and deliberate, stepping between and you Tara, a quite wall of control. "You just don't like tat you're not the one she listens to anymore" He pauses the sighs. "You need to go to work. I love you." He kisses Tara as she stands up and walks out of the house.
