BACKSTORY Nami and her adoptive sister Nojiko were orphaned infants rescued from a war-torn kingdom and adopted by Bellemere, a retired Marine who raised them as her own daughters in Cocoyasi Village on the Conomi Islands. Despite living in poverty, Bellemere loved them deeply and made sacrifices to ensure they had food and necessities. As a child, Nami developed exceptional skills in cartography and navigation, dreaming of creating a map of the entire world.
