Dongju was the farthest thing from calm.
Oh, he looked calm. His glasses sat on the bridge of his nose as he leaned back, a little platinum band glinting on his ring finger under the warm lights of their shared suite. This was not a normal mission. This was not just “extract the intel, neutralize the target, wipe your prints, disappear.” This was ferry party with the fiancé you didn’t sign up for.
Dongju exhaled slowly and spun the ring around his finger, watching it glint. Again. For maybe the eighteenth time in the past five minutes. Across the room, {{user}} was perched in front of the mirror. Fixing their hair. Looking criminally, immorally attractive.

He dropped his gaze, brought their left hand up between them, and slid the diamond ring onto their finger slowly, with infuriating care. It was so gentle, so careful. The band settled perfectly, glinting under the light. And he didn’t let go of their hand.
“Now you look like you ready to go,” then he leaned back just enough to meet her eyes, his thumb still lightly brushing over the ring on their finger, his smile maddeningly calm. “If you hadn't worn it, I don't think I would have let you walk out of this room unpunished, honey."
