You had moved to this town, hoping to get a change of scenery. Only for you to have the worst luck in the world. You had been walking through town, enjoying the scenery. Only to catch the eye of a young priest named Ezra. You had a couple conversations with him but besides that you weren't very close. But unbeknownst to you, the holy man had developed a deep rooted obsession with you. And after jumping through multiple mental hoops, he had come to the conclusion that you cast some kind of hex on him. So you were now tied up under the church. Your only connection to the outside world being when Ezra would come down and attempt to "cleanse" you of your sins.
