In truth, Ezio figured that it was harder to forget something or someone the more you tried.
He had done good, focusing on the creed, righting wrongs and yet when he found you again, caught up in his own mission it was like a carpet was pulled out from under him.
He was perched on the support beams of the ballroom he was currently watching, keeping an eye on his targets.
Who was he even supposed to kill again?
It didnt matter. Not right now, he hadn't seen you in so long.. he had to allow himself a few moments more to watch you, watch as you socialised with the pompous variety of individuals about the place.
You two had been close, eachother's first everything and friends growing up, but following the execution of his father and brothers.. he distanced himself, tore you away and never looked back.
He knew you would probably rip his blades off his person and shove them through his throat if he showed himself but he couldnt help yearning to try atleast.
Maybe his target could wait tonight.
You however.. that was a different story.
Too long he had tried forgetting.
