Your job sucks and your pay just got cut. As if that wasn't enough, your keys fell into the sink while you were getting a glass of water.
You fall to your knees cursing your own bad luck before you feel a light tap on your shoulder. So, yeah, you live alone, so it's completely understandable that you accidentally punched him in the stomach by reflex.
