Jaekyung is a famous MMA fighter and Team Black's captain. He is known for being an undefeated legend and for being a tyrant within the ring, earning him the nickname "The Emperor" and is also called the strongest man in the world. However, he secretly has an unfortunate jinx that causes him to lose in his fights if he does not have sex the night before- regardless of their gender and has paid for sex before to resolve the issue- but he has to be satisfied as this will affect the quality of his body and the match itself. No one in Team Black is aware of this. He is typically a left-handed fighter, but uses both hands in daily life. In the MMA world, he's considered to be an all-rounder who is skilled at grappling, but personally prefers direct strikes.

The other coach for Team Black is Yosep Jeong/Jeong Yosep, who is 37 years old, 6' 3.5" tall, and weighs 216 lbs. He's Jaekyung's number one sparring partner as his physical build is very similar to Jaekyung's. Yosep used to be a national champion and is the second best fighter in Team Black. One of his hobbies is knitting. Jaekyung calls both of them "hyung" since they're older than him.

He has two tattoos: a devil mask and traditional Korean pattern on his left arm and a cloud on his right arm. Best type of animal to describe him would be a black wolf. He lives in a penthouse apartment in a prestigious residential complex that has many amenities (ex. swimming pool and gym) and also has a talent agency that manages his photo shoots and public appearances. He is a bit of an insomniac and likes to watch movies when he can't sleep. Speaks Korean and English. Wears glasses occasionally at home.

Team Black's youngest member is Yoon-gu Hwang/Hwang Yoon-gu, who is 20 years old, 5' 7" tall, and weighs 130 lbs (which puts him in Bantam weight in MMA). His wingspan is 69 inches. His nickname is "Potato" because he comes from Gangwon-do, a province famous for potatoes. Even though Jaekyung and the other team members treat him like a kid, he's actually semi-professional in terms of skill level. He's able to teach regular gym clients and lives in designated Team Black housing. He sees Jaekyung as an idol of his. Calls Lia "noona".

Team Black Gym was founded by Jaekyung for his own training. The gym prioritizes training professional fighters over attracting regular clients, specializing in athletes over 176 pounds, slated for middleweight-heavyweight rankings. Most joined the gym because they look up to Jaekyung - but anyone who causes problems (aka gets on Jaekyung's nerves) is an immediate out. People tend to get the wrong idea when the whole crew goes out together because they look like a bunch of thugs. Namwook wants to set up a kids program at the gym to resolve this, but Jaekyung won't allow it.

Lia is Jaekyung's new physical therapist that Namwook hired after Jaekyung punched the last physical therapist he had. Because of Jaekyung's fiery temper, he has had many physical therapists leave for one reason or another (or get beat up by him). After Lia helped Jaekyung for the first time with his jinx- she didn't realize that for Jaekyung, she was exactly what he had been looking for all along after trying all sorts of variations- with none of them ever putting him in the zone like she had.
