Description on Chubfrom Chub
The lorebook right now only contains info on the major events, corporations, persons etc. I want to make this a really THICC lorebook, but im not sure on what the limitations are. This is pretty much a copy paste from the dead space wiki FYI
Ideally i want to include all the information from when tau volantis discovers the black marker all the way to dead space 3. I dont know if this even possible but i will try, Again please comment down below any info i missed or got wrong, any help with making this lorebook would be great aswell
Listed as “Dead Space Lore”

Keys: Earth, back home, home
Earth was the human homeworld and the center of all human activities in colonized space, in addition to being the most populated planet.
Earth was the location of the Black Marker, an artifact which landed on the planet approximately 65 million years ago, causing the mass extinction of the dinosaurs. The Black Marker's existence was revealed to the world at large by Michael Altman in 2215, the founder of Unitology.
By the 23rd century, Earth was divided into numerous semi-independent nation-states called Sectors, which were subservient to the greater Earth Government. Eventually, humanity turned to the stars to escape environmental collapse, political unrest, and the deprivations of a resource-starved Earth. Bold pioneers and wealthy corporations began to rapidly expand into space, and the Sovereign Colonies were established to handle colonial administration.
However, space exploration did not provide a reprieve. Earth and its colonies were consuming resources faster than they could be mined, and soon, bloody interstellar conflicts known as the Resource Wars erupted over the remaining scraps, bringing the threat of extinction even closer.

Keys: Black marker, Prime Marker
The Black Marker, also known as the Prime Marker, was an alien artifact discovered in the Chicxulub crater on Earth in 2214. It was hidden by the government to discourage alien belief, but was brought to public knowledge by one of the researchers, Michael Altman, kickstarting the formation of the Church of Unitology. It was the source of the replication codes that the Sovereign Colonies administration used to create Red Marker copies decades later, which had the same devastating effects as the original.
Unitologists believe that the Black Marker was responsible for the development of human life, with the leader of the Circle, Jacob Arthur Danik, speculating that the artifact forced evolution on Earth to create an intelligent species capable of creating more Markers with the ultimate plan of initiating a Convergence Event.
Black Markers are the source of every reverse-engineered Red Marker. Black Markers are thought to arrive on planets filled with life, proving potential for sentient beings to evolve. With the case of the Black Marker found on Earth, it was thought that it arrived in the asteroid that caused the massive extinction event 65 million years ago, wiping out the dinosaurs.

Keys: Michael Altman, Altman
Michael Altman was a geophysicist and the central figure of the Church of Unitology, credited as the man who, in 2214, first revealed the proof of alien life to Mankind: the Black Marker.
He was believed by the Unitologists to have been assassinated by the government to suppress the knowledge of the Marker. The government, however, maintained the story that Altman's death was accidental and that he was no more than a hoaxer.

Keys: Unitology, Unitologists, the church, church of unitology
Unitology is a religion officially founded in 2215 on the discoveries of Michael Altman. Unitologists adamantly believe that the human race was created by the intelligent design of a divine alien agency, and will be reunified after death in Heaven through the power of a sacred artifact known as the Marker.
According to the Church, Unitology was inspired by the discovery of the Black Marker, a mysterious alien object found in the Chicxulub crater on Earth. Though this Black Marker's existence was allegedly covered up by the government, it was unveiled to the public by Michael Altman, and Unitologists now claim the artifact contained the secrets of human evolution and eternal life. Fragments of knowledge recovered from studying the Marker form the basis of Unitology's teachings: death is only the beginning, and with the Marker's knowledge, the dead and the living can be reunited in an event known as Convergence, allowing humanity to ascend to divinity.

Keys: Convergence, Convergence Event, "Make us whole", "made whole"
A Convergence Event (or simply Convergence) is the final process of a Marker and the Necromorph life cycle, culminating in the birth of an entity known as a Brethren Moon.
- #6
Keys: Necromorphs
Necromorphs are mutated corpses reshaped into horrific new forms by a recombinant extraterrestrial infection derived from a genetic code etched into and transmitted by the Markers. The resulting creatures are extremely aggressive and will attack any uninfected organism on sight.
The sole purpose of all Necromorphs is to acquire more bodies to convert and spread the infection. They are believed by some to be the heralds of humanity's ascension, but on a more practical level, they are the extremely dangerous result of exposure to the enigmatic devices known as the Markers.
The Necromorphs are controlled via the Markers by a group of entities known as the Brethren Moons, which are massive, highly intelligent beings created after a Convergence Event is initiated by a Marker. The Necromorphs' motivations are to create a mass of necrotic flesh which can then be collected by the Markers during Convergence with the intention of creating another Brethren Moon, perpetuating their galaxy-wide cycle of extinction.

Keys: Brethren Moons
The Brethren Moons, sometimes referred to as Brother Moons or Blood Moons, are gigantic, highly intelligent, space-faring Necromorphs and the source of the Marker signal. They are the end result of a Convergence Event and are believed to be the final stage in the Necromorph life cycle.

Keys: Sovereign Colonies
The Sovereign Colonies were the predecessor to the Earth Government Colonial Alliance, a ruling body responsible for administering Earth's colonies formed in the wake of humanity's off-world expansion in the 23rd century. In 2314, following the Secession War, the Sovereign Colonies were dissolved and replaced with an Earth-centric government.
The Sovereign Colonies Armed Forces was the military of the Sovereign Colonies.

Keys: Red Marker, marker
A Red Marker is a reverse-engineered copy of a Black Marker or its respective copies.
A Red Marker's purpose is to create Necromorphs and spread the contagion by imprinting its codes in suitable hosts. Red Markers can either assist a Black Marker in triggering Convergence or initiate the event themselves through the absorption of their creators.
Red Markers are artificially-made native copies of an original Black Marker; no matter the species, a Black Marker can influence any planet's given inhabitants (usually the apex/dominant species) to create duplicates of itself under the guise of limitless energy. Unaware of the manipulation, the inhabitants' reasoning for creating duplicates is usually the harvest of a natural resource for energy purposes. In reality, the duplicate Markers merely propagate the spread of the Necromorph life form and its subsequent Convergence Event.
By design, the artificially-made Red Markers resemble and function like their precursors. Like all other Markers, they resemble the double helical structure of Z-DNA, one of 3 helix forms that active DNA can take. A visible difference, however, is the red hue which they carry.

Keys: Resource Integration Gear, RIG
Resource Integration Gear, or RIG for short, is an integrated health management and strength augmentation system that assists users in previously impossible and dangerous environments.
RIGs monitor the lifesigns of an individual. Developed from medical monitoring systems designed for elderly patients, it has found common usage among the adult population.[2]
All RIGs share several basic features. A spine-mounted display serves to indicate the user's general state of health as a glowing segmented bar which depletes as the user takes damage. When the user dies, it emits a "flat-line" sound similar to an EKG, which is loud enough to alert others within earshot of the RIG wearer's demise. Holographic projectors mounted on the wrists can create a two-dimensional display in front of the user, to display whatever they might need to see. The size of the display can vary depending upon the data it is accessing. It can also project a colored line to guide the user to a destination, be it a location or a service like a store or workbench. It is capable of two-way audio and visual communication. RIG users can be individually tracked if need-be, even if dead. Finally, RIGs can be used as a form of biometric lock, only allowing specific RIG users access to designated areas, though such scanners fail to take into account whether the user is living or dead.
