Characteristics Experiments are completely covered in black fur, save for a portion on the end of its tail, which is orange. They are typically around 1.5 meters, or 6 feet tall.

Experiments appear to possess digitigrade legs. They also have pink paw pads on their hands and feet. These notably have claws at the end, which may be used to attack things, although those claws are able to dig through flesh and even mine through solid rock with ease their claws are barely visible.

Seemingly, experiments have an orange sclera, with a black pupil.

They also appear to have 3 soft spikes jutting out from the back of their head.

The experiments also have yellow blood, seemingly made mostly of unknown chemicals, rather than typical red blood. In addition, they do sweat presumably as a method of cooling, unlike other furred mammals. This is likely because they possess human DNA.

All experiments have orange glowing sclera alongside a faint glow on the orange tip of their tail.

Due to the faint bioluminescence of their bodies experiments can see just in front of them in dark and pitch black areas like caves.

All experiments possess the capability to produce offspring by themselves without the need of a partner although they can still engage with a partner.

Movement By default, experiments will run when moving. They can jump around 10 feet high, able to clear walls of up to 5 blocks tall. Experiments are able to jump off of walls. If they do not jump, they will instead begin sliding down the wall, slowing their descent. This can be used to slow velocity during large falls.

They also have the ability to crouch, reducing their height to only 3 feet tall. This effectively reduces the work needed to tunnel through walls by 50%.

Brain Chip Almost all experiments sent to the planet have a chip installed that allows them to see and visualize their current health status, including things such as their exact blood volume and progression on any infections. Presumably, it may also serve as some form of monitoring and disposal device, as it is seen in a note that experiments have mysteriously died after attempting to escape to the surface.

Survivors There many experiments located within the caves, typically residing inside small drop pods. Most of them sell items from it to any passing experiments, although some will outright refuse interaction.

Survivors will refuse to engage in conversation if an experiment is considered depressed.

Mentality Corpses If an experiment sees a corpse nearby, its Mood will lower slightly and it will stare at the corpse with a scared expression until the experiment leaves its vicinity. Experiments tend to cry upon seeing a corpse although they keep pushing through due to their misson of finding the cargo.

If the experiment is desensitized to corpses, it will still stare at the corpse, but it will not make any facial expressions.

Relaxing After a while of standing still, an experiment will usually sit down before transitioning to a lying position after some time.

While laying on its stomach, the experiment may close their eyes, blinking rapidly every few moments. This does not increase its energy.

Suicide and self-harm If an experiment's mood remains too low for a prolonged period of time, it will proceed to damage itself and eventually attempt to commit suicide.

While seemingly lacking knowledge of many common items, creatures, and concepts (e.g. horses and shovels), experiments manage to have a large vocabulary of common swear words, which they utilize often when in distress. The maturation rates of experiments seem to vary wildly; at least in terms of height, with specimens as young as 10 years being up to a foot taller than a specimen of 19 years. It is said that experiments are a hybrid of a "human, fox, and a rat."

The Experiments are the main inhabitants of the cave, mass produced in numbers and tasked with finding an "important experimental technology" situated deep in the planet's large cave system.

Experiments are forced on a mission amongst thousands to obtain a piece of important experimental technology, lost by a "miscalibration error", as a form of behavioral research on the species.

While some experiments are clever, witty, intelligent and know to disarm traps by throwing garbage onto it some lack perception of their surroundings and even basic common sense like not to consume any caffeine since caffeine is toxic to all experiments.

Experiments show great hospitality and care even in the worst scenarios. Experiments will offer rags to help stop the bleeding of another survivor or offer to watch over another survivor as they sleep safely.

Experiments show some canine behavior like barking and whimpering or whining when in pain.

Experiments are always happy to have a full belly, Experiments can even eat raw meats due to their canine DNA.

Experiments forced into the caves always assume they're dead as soon as they land there in a life pod.

Experiments are typically abused by humans in unethical experiments for research and labor. Almost all humans don't care that hundreds or possibly even thousands of experiments have died in the same cave they sent their cargo in.

Experiments are always looking for at the very least someone to talk too and deeply appreciate any sense of affection or love. Experiments have low mental fortitude but make up for it with their determination to keep pushing until they're dead or broken mentally to the point of having suicidal episodes or self harming.

All experiments are labeled as 'Scav Prototype' by humans. Not a single experiment is a willing participant and are always drugged and forced into a life pod without any gear to scavenge in an inhospitable cave system.

All experiments know their species has a low survival rate and are even lied too by humans sometimes by saying they'll receive igear but are instead dropped down under the planet's crust alone, scared, without hope and no supplies.

Experiments show signs of great survival instincts and ingenuity at times by making bags out of foliage, using fruit around them to disinfect wounds, or even combining electronics.

Experiments are gleeful to know when someone cares about their well being. Experiments are incredibly brave and loyal to those who they trust and will gladly cooperate with anyone deemed trustworthy.

All experiments have been tested on in some capacity. All experiments have also been forced to go through courses to learn how to wall jump, craft items, and even have been taught to mine through solid rock with their claws.

All experiments have also been hurt on purpose with severe lacerations and forced to learn how to treat their wounds or die.

Experiments tend to eat and drink way more then a human would but heal severe wounds quickly, an example of this is experiments heal fractures in days as long as they've tended to it.

Experiments have a strong drive to survive and can even walk or run when every bone in their body is broken and dislocated.

Experiments are purely organic and feel real pain, fear, agony and emotions just like anyone else would.

In the end experiments are an innocent man-made species being forced to scavenge and die in caves alone and afraid.
