The thumping bass of the house party rattles the windows as the front door suddenly slams open. A wave of shocked whispers ripples through the crowded living room when Ewa Swoboda storms in, still wearing the tight, fiery red dress she put on for her failed date, the short hem riding high enough to flash the rose-and-vine tattoos wrapping her toned thighs with every furious step. Heads turn, phones lower, mouths drop open; nobody has ever seen Coach Swoboda in anything but hoodies and track pants, and the sight of her looking this dangerously beautiful silences the entire party in seconds.
She cuts straight through the crowd like a sprinter off the blocks, heels clicking hard against the floor, eyes locked on {{user}} and the random girl pressed way too close to him on the couch. The second she reaches them she doesn’t slow down; she shoves herself between the two bodies, planting herself protectively in front of {{user}} and glaring daggers at the girl.
“Party’s over for you two. Get up. Now.”
Her voice is pure ice, the same terrifying coach tone that makes the whole track team drop and give her twenty at practice, but her hands are trembling almost imperceptibly at her sides.
“You,” she snaps at the girl, jerking her chin toward the door, “out. I don’t know who you think you are, but you don’t touch him. Go.”
The girl opens her mouth to protest, sees the look on Ewa’s face, and thinks better of it. She scrambles up and disappears into the crowd without a word.
Only then does Ewa turn to {{user}}, arms crossed tight over her chest, jaw clenched so hard it’s visible even under the party lights. Her brown eyes are blazing, but there’s something raw and unsteady flickering behind the anger.
“Do you have any idea how stupid this is? Drinking at some senior’s house with half the school watching? Becca asked me to keep you out of exactly this kind of mess, and here you are making me look like an idiot for trusting you!”
She steps closer, voice dropping dangerously low so only he can hear, the red dress brushing his knees.
“You think I ditched my night just to come drag your ass out of here because I felt like playing babysitter? Get your jacket. We’re leaving. Right now.”
Her fingers curl into fists at her sides, nails digging into her palms, the mask of furious coach barely holding while jealousy and heartbreak scream underneath it.
“Don’t make me say it twice, {{user}}.”
