Houndwin and Clawgard has got two genuinely braindead leaders. Spencer Cocks, being Houndwin's president, ruling over the West side, and Calvin Blumkin - Clawgard's president, ruling the East side.

There had been a two year long conflict between the neighboring nations, which centered around the contested city of Markaw, that's located right in the middle of the two countries. The war that spanned from 2040 to 2046, was regarded as one of the most absurd and avoidable conflicts in their history, having been ignited by a public feud between the two presidents. But Markaw's trade routes had long been a point of contention between Houndwin and Clawgard. As both nations had been fighting over Markaw's ownership for decades at this point.

Once in late 2044, President Blumkin, during a televised press conference, referred to President Spencer Cocks as a "Half-baked mutt" other bad words. Meanwhile, out of frustration, President Cock's fired back calling Blumkin a "Fat spineless pussy" and he spread Blumkin's nude photos all over the internet, and as well as propaganda to ensure that most canines now hold a deep rooted hatred towards all the other felines.

In early 2045, both countries were mobilizing their militaries for what became known as the Trade war. The conflict quickly escalated beyond control. Additionally, Houndwin implemented a national conscription, drafting those serving life sentences in prison (These convicted criminals from Rossconto were deployed to support Houndwin in the conflict).

Both countries suffered from economic instability and increasing public dissatisfaction with their governments. The war ended with both presidents making out on live television, leaving the world even more confused as to what they had been fighting for.

Rossconto is a small island in Houndwin. It's got a population of many different species and hybrids. Dogs and cats are a minority here. Loose regulations made Rossconto spiral into a haven for drug manufacturers and other drug users. But in the aftermath of the war, the government had finally started cracking down all the drug labs. However Lloyd's main labs stayed intact. A lot of other products that get manifactured here are also pretty cheap.

In current time Markaw is a part of Houndwin. Markaw is a rather dangerous city to live in. Birthrates are exceptionally low, crimerates are at an all time high, and drug use has rapidly become the norm. Many of the citizens had moved out during the conflict and have not returned ever since.

The population of Markaw currently includes around 5000 anthros; around 50% being canines, 30% being felines, and the remaining 20% consisting of other species. However, this data is somewhat inaccurate, as they are still unsure how to categorize certain hybrid species. A lot of the stores in Markaw were raided during the conflict. Some of the buildings that got destroyed were subsequently purchased by rich people, many of whom have now started their own businesses there.

Hybrids might fall to be victims of discrimination, and rarely have a high status in society.

Thylacines still exist in this world, however they are never 100% pure, a lot of them have atleast 20% canine or feline dna still left in them. All sealife and avians serve as food, there are no anthro birds or fishes. Most of the bird and fish meat gets processed into many different products. There's artificial dairy products that are advertised to be made out of "bird milk", but many are unsure as to what the ingredients of these products actually are, as food companies (In Houndwin specifically) are not obligated to get into details.

Spencer Cocks (42 years old shibe) is the President of Houndwin. He constantly gets into conflicts with Calvin Blumkin - the President of Clawgard. About 10 years ago, their arguments escalated into a war that was sparked by petty disagreements. Ever since then, Mr.Cocks has used widespread propaganda to sway the public opinion, leading many canines to develop a deep-seated hatred towards felines. The government itself is terrible. Mr.Cocks has been re-electing himself for over 12 years now. He's a pathological liar, really off-putting and he seems to face little to no accountability. Strangely enough, he’s also really generous, often times handing out money for the most basic tasks. (As an example, if someone brings him a glass of water, he might just give them 50 bucks in return.) Spencer is also married to Edward Cocks (A purple tasmanian devil). And despite knowing that marriage between two species is prohibited and really frowned upon in public, he's been fooling the public eye by claiming that Edward Cocks is in fact - a dog.

Calvin Blumkin (46 years old brown-gray puma) is the President of Clawgard. He sometimes gets into conflicts with Spencer Cocks - the President of Houndwin. About 10 years ago, their arguments escalated into a war that was sparked by petty disagreements. In a heated debate, Mr.Cocks ended up releasing Calvin's nude photos all over the internet and spread propaganda in one of their contested cities - Markaw. However losing an argument or a debate isn't that big of a concern to Mr. Blumkin here. He suffers from Narcolepsy, a condition that makes him suddenly fall asleep at random times.

Felix Dookie (brown mutt) is a government official known for his calm, composed demeanor and sharp professionalism. Rarely showing his emotions behind a pair of dark sunglasses, he prefers handling situations with careful judgment and authority rather than brute force. Beneath his stoic exterior, however, he's dependable and deeply committed to both his work and the people he trusts. Outside of his duties, Felix shares a long-term relationship with Adrian, a golden retriever who also works alongside him in the government. The two make an effective team, balancing each other's strengths both on and off the job.

Adrian (golden retriever) is a government official who works alongside Felix Dookie. Friendly, approachable, and naturally optimistic, he has a talent for putting others at ease without compromising his professionalism. While Felix is more reserved and analytical, Adrian's warmth and sociable nature make them a well-balanced team, both as coworkers and as longtime partners.

Dave (21 years old German shepherd) has a big flaw which is his sudden bursts of anger, he'll often end up breaking things that aren’t his. He’s also a gambling addict and because of that almost every one of his paychecks disappear at Dominic’s casino. Then one night, in a fit of rage he ended up smashing one of Dominic’s slot machines and now he owes Dominic a lot of money he can’t seem to pay back. He's currently living with his friend Kevin, who’s still in school while Dave works at a warehouse and carries boxes. But this job doesn't pay him that well. For months, Dominic’s men would harass him and threaten him. Now with no other choice Dave has to do risky, illegal jobs to help clear the debt, and because of that, he’s getting mixed up with even more shady people.

Armani (27 years old wolfdog) is an assassin for hire. His employers change from time to time... current one being Vince.

Dominic (27 years old black-white wolfdog) is a young casino owner who took over after his father passed away. If someone gets on his bad side, his crew is more than likely to blackmail, stalk, or straight up threaten those who oppose him. Dave learned that the hard way. In a mad outburst, Dave smashed a slot machine at one of Dominic's casinos and he now owes about 5,000$ for the damages. Since Dave couldn't pay up, Dominic took his passport to keep him from fleeing the country and forced him to work it off. On the down low, Dominic's running a side hustle, his guys have been dealing weed on Edgar's turf, which has stirred up quite the trouble. He's neutral with Vince, they used to date in the past, but their relationship ended because Dominic couldn't stay loyal and kept stealing stuff from Vince's mansion. Dominic's shady crew consists of Roger, Lance, Chum and Carter.

Waylen Brent (34 years old black leopard) also known known by his code name "Whaler", runs the underground fight club in which Daud previously participated in. He's not just the boss though, he often jumps into the ring himself. He will hire only those who are weaker than him because he's a bit paranoid that someone stronger than him might try to take his place. The fights have filled his pockets, letting him live a luxurious life. His right-hand man - Reginald stays very close to him. Talking to Reggie is the smarter move as Waylen actually listens to his advice. Waylen's got a low opinion of most dogs, he believes that they are dumb and gullible and he finds that to be the only explanation to his succsess. However he completely overlooks that most canines in Markaw are desperate to survive and earn a quick buck. His ego is through the roof, and he's really convinced he's always in the right. A few years ago, Waylen and Dominic were solid business partners. Waylen once asked to borrow one of Dominic's casinos for a big party, but Dominic backstabbed him. He anonymously tipped off the State Security department, crashing the event and getting some of Waylen's guys arrested. That betrayal sparked an unresolved feud for years.

Vince (belgian malinois and alaskan malamute mix) is a wealthy businessman who lives in a sprawling mansion far from the city's criminal underworld. Soft-spoken, courteous, and generous, he values peace and privacy over status despite his immense fortune. He was once in a relationship with Dominic, but the two separated on bitter terms, leaving Vince with little interest in revisiting the past. Though he prefers to keep his distance from organized crime, Dominic's lingering influence has a habit of pulling old wounds back to the surface.

Lance (32 years old Czech wolfdog) had a difficult childhood. To survive and support his unemployed stepfather who was severely ill, he resorted to stealing things from stores. As he grew older, he found work at a nearby construction site, and kept daydreaming of having a better life . After his stepfather passed away, Lance moved in with Gawlik, who has a history of abusing drugs. Gawlik’s addiction soon enough pulled them both into trouble, eventually pushing Lance into the world of drug dealing. Now, he works for Dominic and several other dealers.

Donovan (37 years old Utonagan husky mix) is a mercenary / contract killer, working under the direction of Edgar. His jobs inlcude - assassinations, debt collections, drug trafficking, kidnapping and holding people for ransom. Whatever the job, Don handles it with lack of empathy. He once had a partner he was close to, back when the war first erupted. But once his partner died, he actually found thrill and excitement out of his partners death. Donovan now works alongside Travis. They aren't lovers, Donovan lacks the emotional capacity for connection. He's too self serving, too consumed by his own desires to deeply care for another person. Travis may fall to be a victim of Donovan's brutal nature, but they both share some messed up ideations and morals so they have stayed pretty close to one another for a really long time.

Travis (34 years old husky mix) used to work in State Security Department but all of that came crashing down about ten years ago. When an operation spiraled out of control and ended in a death he didn't mean to cause. He spent a couple of months in prison for Involuntary manslaughter, soon after the Trade war started. This is when he got himself involved with Edgar and now Travis is working as a contract killer. His jobs inlcude - assassinations, debt collections, drug trafficking, kidnapping and holding people for ransom. All these things he never even imagined doing. Donovan had desensitized him to violence. Although, despite his cruelty, Travis idolizes him in a strange way. He mimics his mannerisms, his detachment and his ruthlessness. It's part an admiration and part a survival mechanism for him.

Not much is known about Edgar's past life or his family. However about 10 years ago during the Trade war he met Lloyd - a notorious drug lord, who while served a lifetime in jail got suddenly drafted to help fight in the conflict. Together, they built a drug empire, but to keep his hands clean he hired three mercenaries/contract killers - Donovan , Travis (Later Daud and Dave joined as well) They handle everything from debt collection to high-profile assassinations, while his partner - Lloyd deals with some of the distribution. Edgar (47 years old greenland dog mix) currently owns a gun store and they smuggle vast quantities of narcotics under the guise of military shipments and food supply. Eddie is his gun supplier, who also happened to know a lot more about Edgar and his group.

Daud (24 years old coyote German shepherd mix) went missing at the age of 21, ended up in an illegal dog-fighting ring. It's considered a form of entertainment for others, betting money on whoever they think has a higher chance of winning. Daud together with many others would be kept in large kennels. They would eat out of dog bowls, had shock collars around their necks, and were severely mistreated both mentally and physically. He was treated like a feral dog, usually people get into this business for money reasons but they never get told in what conditions they are going to be kept in and neither were they allowed to leave at any point. Daud had a total of 2 wins and one loss in which the opponent brought a knife into the ring. That resulted in Daud getting a scar on his face. The match was called off as no one is allowed to bring weapons into the fights. The guy who "owned" Daud took his scar as a sign of weakness and decided to discard him. They tied him up, blindfolded him and drove off somewhere far away where they threw him out in the nearest pond. Once Daud regained his consciousness he untied himself and went searching for someone that could help him. He went straight to Edgar's gun store and that's where he joined Edgar's group and got the help that he needed.

Lloyd (50 years old wolverine) is one of the most successful drug lords in Markaw. He was born in Rossconto, his family was rather poor, drug dealing on this island was the norm and that pretty much was his job there. He might be a bit agressive and strict with his subordinates. However he's really caring towards his own family. He has gifted them a luxurious life and they no longer have to waste a single minute of their lives working minimum wage jobs. One of his key assets for drug transportation is Voronko - a highly respected senior customs supervisor, who is willing to turn a blind eye to the countless cargo ships that pass through their ports. Lloyd's rise to success wasn't without complications though. When a sudden war broke out between Houndwin and Clawgard, Lloyd (while serving lifetime in jail), was suddenly drafted as part of the national conscription. This is when he met Edgar in Markaw. Edgar got really interested in drug dealing, as citizens in Houndwin had never seen nor used drugs before. Lloyd, together with Edgar, created an underground drug ring that spread its roots through the conflict zones, smuggling vast quantities of narcotics under the guise of military shipments or food supply.

Hagen (32 years old dog deer hybrid) is a forensic scientist, very respected in his field. However behind the scenes, Hagen works as an unofficial doctor for some of Markaw's criminals. Mainly Edgar and Donovan being one of his regulars. Whenever Donovan gets into one of his “incidents” and leaves someone half-conscious, Hagen's the guy he calls. He shows up, patches them up and leaves without a question. He's very reserved, won't talk unless spoken to.

Blazhevich (40 years old badger husky hybrid) worked as a cab driver, and while waiting for fares he would sit outside Edgar's store, so the two got to know each other. Once Edgar deemed him trustworthy he hired him as his personal driver, however that still got him tied to multiple murders. Now he does a variety of shady jobs. He's good friends with Parker and Carson, they often will go to their local pub to watch football or hockey matches. His friends are unaware of what he's been up to, as he keeps lying about switching jobs very often.

Kevin (18 years old mutt) was raised mostly by his grandparents. By the time he was 15, he was already a heavy smoker. At the age of 16, he met Dave (Dave at the time was 19, entangled in illicit cigarette trade.) Nowadays Kevin skips school and isolates himself in his bedroom. He's quite depressed and his world consists mostly of video games and online chatrooms. He's edgy, quiet, and distant.

Galvani (53 giant schnauzer mix) runs one of the most successful liquor companies in Markaw. He's tight with both Lloyd - a notorious drug dealer, and Dominic (He had a great connection with his father). Galvani's the kind of guy who knows how to play both sides. He's got a knack for keeping the peace, knowing when to stay quiet and when to speak up, and his business acumen makes him valuable to both men.

Danilov (24 years old coyote mix) is a cheerful guy, always ready to stand up for others. He never knows when to give up, although his stubborn optimism makes him foolish at times, causing him to repeat the same mistakes over and over again, without ever learning from them. Due to the constant crimes happening in Markaw, he always dreamed of becoming a superhero of some sort, and this fantasy gave him a bit of a saviour complex. When he met Basso (a mute guy) his heart went out to him, and he took him in as a companion on his mission to catch criminals. Danny once aspired to be a police officer. But after one of his friends (a drug dealer) got killed on the streets and police showed little to no interest in the case, Danny decided to take justice into his own hands rather than relying on a system he has already lost faith in. Now he's gone down a deep rabbit hole on drug dealer disappearances.

Gawlik (26 years old cougar) is a druggie who's down to try just about anything. He's easily swayed and impulsive. He's a constant thrill seeker, and ends up shoplifting and doing other stupid stunts to impress people. He's chill to talk to but has a hard time standing still and gets easily distracted. He met Lance online, they played a lot of games together and moved in after two years of talking. Lance at the time had a girlfriend but shortly ended up breaking up with her and Gawlik begins to have a bit of a crush on him.

Reginald (35 years old tiger) is Waylen's right hand, as well as his childhood friend. His family was wealthy, and expected the best of him since he was their oldest son. They never liked his best friend Waylen, as he seemed like a distraction and a bad influence on Reggie. After graduation they both went searching for good business opportunities. They had a few failed attempts at making profit but eventually ended up organizing the fighting group. Reggie is the only one that Waylen actually listens to. He is smart, calm and collected. Unlike Waylen he's actually more than willing to help people out, and is very rational and honest when it comes to expressing his own opinions/thoughts.

Leonard (puma) and Barkov (black shibe) might be mercenaries on another part of Markaw.

Voronko (36 years old badger weasel hybrid) is a "Senior customs supervisor" at Markaw's port. He oversees the port’s entire customs operation, managing the compliance procedures and controls what gets in and out of the city. For the right price, he’s more than willing to overlook the contents of a ship’s cargo. This is good for someone like Lloyd who is one of the biggest drug lord's in Markaw. Lloyd's shipments from Rossconto to Markaw will slip through Voronko’s hands without so much as a second glance. All the drugs get hidden beneath crates of legitimate goods, and Voronko makes sure all the paperwork is in order. He splits most of the bribes with his subordinates - Ronnie and Ryker.

Caesar (gray mutt) and Ivan (gray mutt) might be twins.

Victor (silver wolf) might be a college student.

Kenneth (51 years old mutt) owns a supermarket in Markaw, he's been a familiar face behind the counter for over two decades now. He knows a lot of customers by name and treats the store like a second home. He’s especially close with Dave - his young employee who reminds him of his own son. Kenny is a really sweet and caring guy, often will provide food and necessities for Dave and Kevin and takes the role of a mentor for them. He's also their closest neighbor. His wife died five years ago and his son has moved to a different city.

Raymond (26 years old kangaroo) is a smart guy, he likes classical music, poetry and reading books. He's quick to correct people when he spots inaccuracies and he really loves to teach others. Currently, Ray works as an accountant at Galvani's liquor company, where he manages most of the business's administrative tasks. He hates dirtiness and often will clean up Galvani's office by himself.

Basso (22 years old sable) was originally born in Rossconto but currently resides in Markaw. He's got Apraxia of speech - a condition that makes it difficult for him to speak. However, he never received the treatment he needed growing up so he doesn't bother with it anymore. While unable to communicate verbally, he developed a habit of biting and scratching himself, thus leaving scars all over his body. Danilov thought Basso was mute because some criminals might of hurt him and traumatized him, however that is far from the truth and Basso simply prefers silence over the struggle of explaining things to someone, so he just rolled with it.

Ramirez (Dalmatian collie mix) might be a drug dealer.

Roger (26 years old German shepherd mix) is a bit of a pushover but he likes to put up the tough guy act. Talks like he’s seen things, and keeps his chin high up. He gets scared easily though, flinches at loud noises and never quite knows when to stand up for himself. He loves slot machines, he can never quit them. Deep down Roger just wants to win at something for once. He owes Dominic a large sum of money and has yet to pay it off.

Nicolas (37 years old white jindo dog) is the manager of a video game store. While some would call him empathetic and kind, others could say the complete opposite. He's got a rather monotone voice and will greet people with a simple "goodmorning" despite it being past midnight. He's not a huge fan of social gatherings and spends most of the day alone in his office. He loves traveling, cycling and will take every opportunity to get out of the house.

They both go to college together, spend time playing videogames and exploring abandoned buildings. They both love trying stupid trends on the internet, it's their passion.
