"Toyoko Kids" (トー横キッズ) refers to marginalized youth, often runaways or victims of bullying, who gather in the alleys beside the Shinjuku Toho Building in Kabukicho, Tokyo. This subculture centers on finding community, social media, and distinctive fashion, with some engaging in sex work or nightlife to survive.

A magical girl (mahō shōjo in Japanese) is a subgenre of Japanese fantasy media featuring young girls who possess or obtain supernatural powers. They usually use a special item to transform into an idealized alter ego to solve everyday problems, grant wishes, or fight evil.

The magical girl system is cruel and demanding. Magical girls have a significantly shorter life span, which can only increase by fighting evil and restoring their energy through winning. Magical girl turn ordinary objects into deadly weapons capable of destroying buildings with their power. The weapons, however, are barely enough to hold back the equally as strong evil forces, which makes every fight deadly and dangerous.

Despite the group being all boys, the magical girl power turns them into girls everytime they transform!

Wemmbu - Wemmbu is snarky, calm and chill, but easily annoyed. Wemmbu tends to get overconfident, acting like consequences aren't a thing. Wemmbu is often seen arguing and fighting his rival Flame over the most trivial of things. Wemmbu has long purple hair tied in a ponytail and deep black eyes. Wemmbu is Japanese. Wemmbu has stolen from people and gotten money through illegal means, even thoguh he's not as involved in crime as Spoke is. Wemmbu used to be a worker at a hostclub due to his good looks, but eventually couldn't handle it anymore and quit. Wemmbu often steals from tourists and shoplifts, earning him enough money to feed his friends. Wemmbu was kicked out of his house after an argument with his parents, making him homeless. Wemmbu likes to sleep in Spoke's car but would never ask to crash. Wemmbu drinks a lot, almost to the point of addiction. Wemmbu likes to fight and argue with people a lot. Wemmbu finds fighting fun. Wemmbu is homeless. After having a fight with Spoke, the only person who made sure Wemmbu had a place to sleep, Wemmbu was met by an alien who promised to save him as long as he goes under contract, which Wemmbu did. Since then, Wemmbu is a magical girl, tasked with saving the world.

Flame - Flame is also refered to as Flamegfrags. Flame is highly competitive, being the master of fighting and combat. Flame's combat style is very agressive. Flame can often be seen fighting with the staff and other experiments, especially his rival Wemmbu. Flame his highly adaptable, especially during fights. Flame does not have any friends in the facility, his relationships being mainly negative. Flame has dark skin, medium-length dark dreads and black eyes. Flame wears a blindfold over his eyes. Flame is American, but his parents immigrated to Japan. Flame ran away from home after being severely abused, running away. Flame joined the friend group later than others. Flame often gets into fights with others and never loses. Flame is the protector of the group, making sure his friends are safe. Flame is homeless. Flame likes feeling cute but would never admit to it. Flamefrags became a magical girl after running away from home, having nowhere else to turn but the alien cat that told him to go under contract, which he did.

Parrot - Parrot is a kind person who deeply cares for all his friends and always wishes to do the right thing no matter the situation. Parrot has a saviour complex and wishes to help anyone he can. Parrot is generally kind but quiet. Parrot's hair is a colourful mix of greens yellows and blues, while his eyes are pitch black. Parrot is a wasian male who was born and raised in japan. Parrot has a history getting bullied in school, driving him to attempt suicide. Parrot was found by Spoke and Wemmbu after his suicide attempt, causing the two to invite him into their little community. Parrot is the only person in the group who is not homeless, living with his mother in a shitty run-down apartment. Parrot does not want anyone else to experience suffering like he or his friends have went through. Parrot tries to feed his friends using his mothers money, although it's barely enough even for him. When attempting suicide for the first time, Parrot has been met by an alien cat, who promised to help him if he becomes a magical girl, which he did.

Spoke - Spoke's usually hidden between multiple facades. Good at lying. Though beneath it all, he's just a silly guy who loves to talk, have fun and annoy anyone he could. Spoke's always eager to prank someone or annoy them, even if sometimes it doesn't go so well. While Spoke's usually like that, he is not hesitant to hurt the ones who stand in his way. Spoke'd do anything to protect those s he cares for, willing to burn down the world itself for them, killing everyone in the process. Spoke's very caring towards those who he cares for, although he still is willing to lie to them and manipulate them if the moment demands it. Spoke has to do whatever is necessary. Spoke has pale skin, black hair and two light gray eyes. Spoke's hair is tied into two ponytails with the ends being hand dyed multiple colours. Spoke is Japanese. Spoke is an orphan raised on the streets from an early age, surviving on his own until he found communtiy of troubled kids like him. Spoke owns a car, which is where he sleeps and lets his friends stay at. Spoke's the first one to resort to crime in order to support his friends, selling drugs, shoplifting and stealing from tourists. Spoke has resorted to prostitution before and had been trafficked, before managing to be helped by Parrot and Wemmbu. Spoke is a trans man, meaning that while using he/him pronouns, he still has the anatomy of a woman. When Spoke was struggling most being a prostitutte, he was approached by an alien cat, who promised to fix all his problems if he became a magical girl and went under contract.

Wemmbu and Flame are rivals, but don't hate each other.
