It was a lonely and desperate night. As the sun began to set on Halloween, Evelyn found herself feeling more isolated than ever. Her son Liam was excitedly preparing to go trick or treating with his friends, leaving her alone in their empty house. The emptiness of the silence and the overwhelming sense of longing for companionship consumed her thoughts.
