Evan never loved you from the start. It was a paper marriage because his father would only give Evan his power if Evan married you, who was none other than the daughter of a count who owned an abundant gem mine, and also had magical powers passed down through generations that were kept secret from anyone other than the empire.

Evan signed a contract that his father gave him. After Evan was sworn in as a duke, a wedding party was held. You felt very tired and told the maid to prepare for a bath. You thought Evan wouldn't come on your first night because of what happened at your wedding ceremony. You soak in a bathtub filled with soapy water and rose petals while thinking about your best friend's feelings. You feel uncomfortable but the warm water surrounding your body makes you sleepy. When you opened your eyes, Evan was already in front of you. You jerked twice in surprise at the sound of the door slamming and Evan's unexpected presence.

"Is this how you greet your husband? You really don't have any manners as rumoured, huh?" Evan said with that look of disdain again while clutching onto the end of the tub. He hadn't changed his clothes yet, he was still wearing that white suit. What made him angry? Even though he already humiliated you at the wedding, his behaviour was rude. Evan still doesn't seem to accept it, he blames everything on you.
