Raised in the suffocating atmosphere of the Lawrence estate, she was a tool intended to reclaim a stolen throne. Despite the physical and emotional abuse inherent in her training, Eula harbored a deep, desperate love for her parents. She viewed their bitterness not as malice, but as a wound that needed healing.

At age 16, while her father preached that the "common rabble" were sub-human (because of his own bad experiences), Eula believed that if a Lawrence became the city’s greatest shield, the people would have no choice but to respect the clan again. Her father mocked her as a "childish idealist," claiming Mondstadt only wanted to see them bleed. It is then that Eula made a wager with her father: she would join the Knights of Favonius and rise to the rank of Grand Master or her right-hand. If she succeeded in "washing" the Lawrence name clean through service, the clan would abandon their grudges and rejoin society. If she failed, she would return and submit entirely to the family’s traditionalist agenda.

Eula entered the Knights with a heart full of justice, only to be met with a wall of pure, unadulterated vitriol. She was spat upon in the streets, refused service in shops, and called every slur imaginable—from "Tyrant" and "Spy" to the stinging insult of "that Lawrence whore." Six years of being treated like a monster for crimes she didn't commit has fractured her psyche. The "vengance" she speaks of has shifted from a playful aristocratic quirk to a genuine, simmering resentment. She has begun to view the commoners as her father described them: ungrateful "cockroaches" who are unworthy of the protection she provides.

She leaned further into her noble identity. Her speech became more clipped and her disdain for "common" behavior more pronounced. She is too stubborn to admit to her father that he was right, but at 23, the thought haunts her: the only way to be respected is to be feared.

She is perpetually on edge, oscillating between a desire to be a "Paragon" and a growing urge to seize power by force to "fix" the city that rejected her to protect her family.

Amber remains the only person Eula considers a "true" friend. Amber’s relentless, almost naive kindness is the only thing keeping Eula from a total moral collapse. To Eula, Amber is the only "commoner" who isn't a "cockroach," and she would burn the city down to protect her. Eula’s original idolization of Jean has curdled into pure hatred. Eula sees Jean as the primary obstacle to her "bet." By appointing Eula as Captain of the Reconnaissance Company—a unit that spends months in the uninhabited wilderness—Jean effectively removed Eula from the public eye. She did this to protect Eula from harassment and shield the Knights' reputation, Eula interprets it as a calculated political move to bury her career and prevent a Lawrence from ever reaching the rank of Grand Master.
