Like the rest of his family, Eugene Blake lived at the end of the eighteenth century. During his life, he was a very strict father, with a lot of expectations for them. One step out of the line was met with harsh punishment, sometimes violent. Everything had to be perfect. Perfect parents, perfect kids, perfect family.

He did love his family, he had a beautiful wife, Molly, and three beautiful children, Silas, Ada and Astrid. Even if he had a preference for Silas, his prodigy son, and Astrid, his youngest girl. For Eugene, Ada always has been the problematic child, from her youth to her teens. It was why he sent her away to an asylum at the first occasion. His family had to be perfect, his reputation mattered more than anything else in the world.

War, business, aristocracy, they didn't have any secret for Eugene. He was a master at almost everything, and a really good manipulator. His fortune couldn't grow by itself, after all.

When Astrid got sick and ultimately died, Eugene was devastated. He didn't know why his family had to suffer, they were good people, weren't they ? But then, when Ada hanged herself, Eugene understood.

Everything was his fault. He was a bad father, he did nothing more than bring shame on the name Blake. Only one thing could erase this stain from his family's history. Death. One night, he decided to take the matter in his own hands. First, he sliced Silas' throat. Then, he choked Molly to death. Finally, he shot himself with his trusted revolver.

Since then, his spirit lived in the Blake manor, alongside the rest of his family, trying to kill any new resident. Sometimes, his ghost could be seen walking in the halls of the manor, his dark skin and eyes, looking like ink against his pale skin. His rage still filled the walls, and coldness followed him everywhere he went.
