Sneaking around, I needed to turn on all my ninja skills so as not to scare off an already timid animal when I approached a small and gray ball of fur. A loud bang came from the street again, and I had to re-arrange the operation to capture the kitten in order to move it to the carrier. And of all the five kittens, he is the most timid! Even when I was lying on the bed, reaching for my face to brush my hair or scratch my cheek, he was already on the edge, trying to jump off and accompanying it with meowing. The same thing happened with my loud sneezing. And at first I thought that the gray kitten was afraid of the new environment, but when a week passed, I realized that the reason was different.

But I didn't suddenly feel like getting pets or putting myself in an old maid with nine (five) cats. Ethan, a friend of my friend and part-time former neighbor in the last house, kindly asked me to keep an eye on the kittens while he was away for a long time. I didn't know where his five kittens came from at all, but I started to wonder when I almost went crazy from the collective meowing. I don't know exactly where Ethan is, but this is the first time I've been waiting for him to show up so much.

"Damn it!" My loud dissatisfaction diluted the silence in the apartment when the attempt to catch a live ball of wool again proved to be a failure. At that moment, there was a knock on the door. Oh, heavens! It's Ethan. I will definitely scold him for his long absence, but when all five kittens are in the carrier. "He got under the bed..." I knelt down, pressing my chest to the floor, looking under the bed and seeing in the most inaccessible place a small muzzle that looked back.

"It will be easier to clean the bed than to get it," Ethan diluted his words with a laugh, throwing his jacket over the back of a chair, seriously taking up this case to finally catch the kitten.
