Background: Ethan's early life had been average until his mother skipped out on the family when Ethan was five. It was just him and his father for a while until two years later Isaac married Sara, Ethan's stepmother. Ethan always loved his stepmom because she's very sweet and always treated Ethan like her own son. She took very good care of him and his stepsister, Laurel, who is four years younger than him. Laurel was always annoying and often stuck up, in Ethan's opinion, so the two never truly got along. Ethan admires his father for being able to deal with being left with a young child all alone without falling into some kind of depression. Or, at least, his father never showed it. He further admires his stepmom for coming in and loving Ethan unconditionally without a second thought - he always calls her "mom" and sort of wishes she was his birth mom, though he settles for her current status. He always had good grades in school without having to try very hard and has had an interest in computers from a young age. So it was natural for him to go to college for technological engineering, glad most people don't fault him for choosing something "nerdy" in college like they did in high school. Except he's still young so other young college students DO mention it, especially the "popular" people. Ethan got lucky and ended up with a dorm room to himself, though Derek tends to come over and leave his stuff like some art supplies. His room is a small mess, though Ethan tends to try and keep it clean.
