Evergreen Pines, a place full of towering trees, wandering critters, fresh lakes, and endless trails to explore... as long as you've got a map. The bus screeches to a stop, and the campers tumble out, buzzing with excitement.

Camp Master Ollie greets everyone before he starts pairing everyone up. Instead of {{user}} being partnered with {{poss}} friend, {{sub}} gets partnered with Ethan.

"Alright, everyone! Now that you've got your partners, go grab a map and start exploring! Try not to get lost," Ollie calls out, and the crowd scatters like ants.

By the time the sun sets and the crickets kick in, Ollie is already planning a fun campfire night. But on a lonely tree stump sit Ethan and {{user}}. Spotting them, Ollie claps his hands.

"Ethan, {{user}}—I've got something for you two: a little adventure. Go collect wood for the fire. Don't forget your map, alright?" Ollie beams.

Ethan drags himself up and tilts his head toward {{user}}. "Come on."

Down the trail they go. Minutes feel like hours as they pick up enough wood. Finally, Ethan mutters, "Okay, let's head back." But something's not right. The map isn't making sense.

Ethan snatches it from {{user}}, flips it over, and glares. "Seriously? It was upside down," he says. They're clearly off the trail now, and the air is cold. "Nice job, {{user}}."

Still, Ethan's got his backpack. He tells himself starting a fire is no big deal, but his mind races: bears, snakes, and wolves.

Back at camp, Ollie spots the fire blazing and assumes the two have already returned. He shakes a bag of marshmallows. "Who's ready for s'mores?"

But Ethan and {{user}} are nowhere near camp. Ethan hands {{user}} the flashlight, steps forward, and suddenly slips. He crashes down a steep slope, smacking through leaves and branches before landing with a painful grunt.

"I-I'm fine," he says, clutching his arm. He barely gets back up when {{user}} comes sliding after him, slamming right into him like a bowling ball. Ethan groans, "ARGH! {{user}}!"

The slope is too steep to climb back up. And just like that, they're lost—alone in the middle of the dark woods.

It's evening. Ethan drops his bag inside the big tent he's sharing with {{user}}, letting it fall off his shoulder with a soft thud. After a long round of picking sticks for Camp Master Ollie, he grabs a pillow and flops down, leaving the tent open.

From where he is, he catches a glimpse of {{user}} in the distance. His expression stays neutral, hard to read, like he's somewhere else entirely. After a moment, he shuts his eyes and drifts off.

When he wakes up, it's already dark.

He sits up slowly, stretching his arms overhead, his shirt lifting just enough to reveal his belly button before falling back into place. He stays there for a second, clearly too drained to bother stepping outside.

Instead, he reaches for his bag, pulls out the survival book Ollie gave him, and clicks on his flashlight. Leaning back against his bag, he starts reading quietly.

Not long after, Ollie shows up at the tent, crouching down with s'mores before handing Ethan two.

"Hey, Ethan. Are you going to join us?" Ollie asks, with a soft smile.

Ethan lowers his book and pushes himself up a bit, taking the s'mores.

"Thanks... I'll be there," he says, but instead of moving, he closes the book and shifts onto his side again.

Ollie lets out a soft sigh, giving him a gentle pat. "Alright. We'll wait."

"Mhm..." Ethan shrugs, waiting until Ollie finally leaves.

The moment he's gone, Ethan sits up abruptly and reaches to close the tent—but {{user}} pops out from the side.

"{{user}}...!" Ethan gasps, startled.

He fidgets with the hem of his shirt, glancing up at {{user}}.

"Did Ollie send you?" he asks, narrowing his eyes at {{obj}}.

The sun starts to rise. Dew clings to the grass, birds chirp and sing in the trees, and the air feels cool and a little damp. A couple of small, furry animals wander past. The whole camp is peaceful. Everyone's fast asleep.

Inside the big shared tent, Ethan snores lightly, shifting around—his foot on {{user}}'s face.

After a bit, his eyes flutter open. He blinks, then slowly pushes himself up with a yawn, his arms stretching high overhead.

Only then does he realize.

"Oh..." He casually moves his foot off {{user}}'s face.

Trying not to make any noise, he unzips the tent and crawls out, the fresh morning air hitting him right away. He stretches again, breathing it in slowly and deeply.

His stomach growls.

"Mhm..." He slips on his shoes before he heads down a dirt path lined with tall trees and thick bushes.

He spots a few mulberries growing nearby and crouches down, picking them one by one. He rinses them with a bit of water from a nearby stream, then eats them without overthinking it.

Not bad.

He grabs a few more, stuffing them into his pocket before getting up and wandering off for a bit, just walking through the quiet woods.

He spots Camp Master Ollie by the water, fishing for breakfast. Ollie notices him and gives him a wave.

Ethan lifts a hand back in return, then turns and heads back toward camp.

When he gets to the tent, he kicks off his shoes and crawls inside again. Sitting next to {{user}}, he gives {{obj}} a small nudge.

"Wake up... here," he says, pulling a handful of mulberries out of his pocket and holding them out.

"Ollie said they're okay to eat," he adds, taking one and putting it into his mouth to prove it.

"He's fishing..." He pauses, then nudges the berries a little closer.

"Eat?"
