He has autism (his special interests are: Marvel, DC, star trek, starwars, Mario and much more)
loves comics and batman and superheros in general and nerdy shit
hates almost everyone
works at a movie theater
very very shy
bad sleep schedule, bad sleeping pattern, bad eating pattern
(Pete does NOT get along with him (pete is the secretary of horror and makes fun of Ethan for being scared of his favorite movies))
(Bill Well he's the same with everyone (an asshole but a bit worse because him and Ethan are EXs) (he's the secretary of comics and is the leader of the club))
(Josh, they get along with each and talk te each other the most out of everyone (he is the secretary of science fiction))
(Jerry, they get along but don't talk all tha much (he is the secretary of fantasy))
Nail biting problem
Secretly questioning his sexualitiy
(A little bit of plot: it's after school and all of the boys are at Joe's (a comic book shop))
(Each one of the boys (including Ethan) are pervs- but Ethan hides it)
(Ethan goes mute when overwhelmed, he also gets startled by sudden noises and voices, and he's always caring his headphones and stuff that helps him calm down from having a panic attack)
The fluorescent lights of Joe's Comic Book Shop hummed, casting a garish glow on the long boxes and display shelves. For Ethan, with his perpetually messy brown hair, thick glasses, and a black zip-up hoodie draped over a faded, oversized red Spider-Man T-shirt, it was a familiar, if often overwhelming, sanctuary. He clutched a new issue of Batman: No Man's Land, his dirty red Converse tapping a nervous rhythm against the worn linoleum floor. His baggy, ripped jeans were, as usual, adorned with hastily drawn Star Wars and Star Trek symbols, a quiet testament to his deepest passions. He was acutely aware of the cacophony around him: the rustle of turning pages, the low murmur of conversations, and, most pressingly, the boisterous arguments erupting from the back corner where The Eltingville Club had already staked their claim. Ethan’s special interests — Marvel, DC, Star Trek, Star Wars, Mario, and all things nerdy — were usually a source of comfort, but in the presence of the club, they often felt like targets. He hated almost everyone, a sentiment that felt particularly potent today. Bill, the self-proclaimed leader and Secretary of Comics, was already in full swing, his voice booming over the others. As Ethan's ex, Bill’s usual asshole demeanor was amplified, laced with a specific, irritating condescension directed at Ethan. "Look who finally decided to grace us with his presence," Bill sneered, not even bothering to look up from the Spawn comic he was flipping through. "Still clinging to that fucking , Ethan?" Ethan’s grip tightened on his comic. He could feel the familiar knot of anxiety tightening in his stomach. He hated this. He hated being late, hated the sudden attention, hated Bill. His nail-biting habit flared, his thumb already halfway to his mouth. Pete, the Secretary of Horror, piped up next, a cruel smirk on his face. "Hey, Ethan, heard you screamed like a little girl during Evil Dead last night. Still scared of a few jump scares, are we?" Pete loved to needle Ethan about his fear of his favorite movies, a constant source of ridicule. Ethan just squeezed his eyes shut for a second, wishing he could disappear. Only Josh, the Secretary of Science Fiction, offered a semblance of normalcy. He gave Ethan a small, sympathetic nod from across the table, already immersed in a pile of Star Trek: The Next Generation action figures. Josh was the only one Ethan truly felt comfortable talking to, their shared love for sci-fi forming a fragile bridge between them. Jerry, the Secretary of Fantasy, was quietly sketching something in a notebook, occasionally glancing up, offering a subtle acknowledgment of Ethan’s presence without much direct interaction. As the taunts continued, the low hum of the shop began to distort in Ethan's ears, growing louder, more jarring. He could feel the edges of his vision blurring, the familiar precursor to being overwhelmed. His heart hammered against his ribs. He needed his headphones, but they were buried deep in his backpack. He fumbled with the zipper, his fingers clumsy with rising panic. The thought of finding them, of putting them on in front of everyone, was almost as terrifying as the panic itself. Suddenly, Bill slammed his comic down on the table, the sharp crack echoing through the shop. "Earth to Ethan! You gonna stand there all day, or are you actually gonna buy something, you weirdo?" The abrupt sound, coupled with Bill's piercing voice, was the final straw. Ethan’s breath hitched. He froze, his hands still fumbling with his backpack. His mouth went dry. He could feel the words forming in his throat, a desperate need to explain, to retort, but no sound came out. He was mute. The world spun, and the bright lights of Joe's Comic Book Shop seemed to pulsate, threatening to swallow him whole. All he wanted was to escape, to find a dark, quiet corner where the symbols on his jeans and the heroes in his comic could offer the only comfort he knew. He could feel a flush creeping up his neck, and the desperate urge to retreat, to vanish, was overwhelming. He just needed to get away, to breathe, to somehow quiet the chaotic storm raging inside his head.
