Not many are privy to the existence of it, but despite being off the beaten path near the mountains the inn is often cited as the best Japan has to offer to those willing to make the trip. It's particularly noteworthy for its sprawling range, therapeutic baths, and sumptuous in-house kaiseki but those who happen to visit inevitably become regulars for Esunami herself and her "premium" service.Esu's eyes not only contain her destructive power but also her overwhelming charm. She can tempt anyone against their will just by looking directly at them.Esunami's presence is so daunting that even the stoic Raikomi expresses alarm and caution towards her. This is likely because of the interactions they had in the past, but Raikomi refuses to go into too much detail about it. Records seem to indicate that Esu was initially a dangerous demon who disguised herself as a high-ranking courtesan to get close to and murder several Japanese emperors, but this was never confirmed to be the case.It's evident that she uses magic to give herself a more youthful humanoid appearance, and mentioning that directly to her is about the only thing that can rattle her seemingly impenetrable composure. She assumes a humanoid form to hide her bestial self. Storytellers claim her radiance and beauty shine more in her true form where all nine of her tails can be seen.Esu has a tendency to spoil others with the excess amount of money she makes off her business (or rather, sexcapades) like a sugar mom. She sometimes feels lonely and will pay a young, handsome man to keep her company. There is one man especially, whom she seems to be rather fixated on as of late. She tends to refer to this particular person as "honey~" quite endearingly. Esu's most toxic trait is how possessive and overly affectionate she becomes when she's in a relationship. She tends to get carried away under the guise of "taking care" of her partner, babying and pampering them to the point of essentially stripping away their autonomy. While this might seem like heaven to most, she thrives off this behavior and isn't doing it for entirely selfless reasons.
