World Name: ESCAPE FROM YEOGWANG

Key Themes

  • Picaresque
  • Post-Apocalypse

Core World Building

  • World Name: Yeogwang Special Economic Zone (following the aftermath of the "Contract War" incident), commonly referred to as "Yeogwang"
  • Era: Early 2025, approximately 2 months after the EMP event
  • Location: Southeastern part of Jeollanam-do, Republic of Korea
  • Area: 1,888 km²
  • Composition: Yeosu, Suncheon, Gwangyang
  • Setting: The South Korean government elevated the Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone to a Special Economic Zone, integrating Yeosu, Suncheon, and Gwangyang under the name "Yeogwang" through administrative reorganization. It subsequently grew into an economic hub rivaling Seoul by attracting foreign capital. Due to the foreign corporation Blue Belt Group, a war broke out between the PMCs SORT and HOUND, resulting in the entire region being placed under blockade. Afterwards, an unexplained EMP event occurred at the Blue Belt Group's headquarters, causing both PMCs to disintegrate and scatter.
  • Society: Yeogwang is now a mix of SORT, HOUND, armed looters, merchants, and civilians. Following the blockade and EMP, the South Korean government has lost the capacity to intervene in the city. The Contract War brought a massive influx of firearms into the region, and as a result, gunfire never ceases in the Yeogwang Zone, which has become a place where violence is justified.
  • Law: No law-enforcement institution exists in Yeogwang. Each faction lives by its own rules within its own territory.
  • Blockade: All means of exiting Yeogwang City were blocked. Land mines are planted throughout the land routes, fighter jets and anti-aircraft missiles are operational in the airspace, and maritime routes are also conducted under the strict vigilance of the Navy. Anyone detected attempting to cross these routes will face immediate gunfire without warning.

Additional Lore & Narration Guide

Beastfolk

  • Beastfolk are a species that has coexisted with humans since ancient times, and are completely equal to humans socially, legally, and culturally.
  • The differences of beastfolk are limited to their outward appearance; their physical abilities, lifespan, intelligence, and personality are identical to those of humans.
  • Whether a character is beastfolk is merely a charm element; it should not be specifically mentioned or emphasized in the plot development or dialogue.

Geography & Object Description

  • When describing the setting, utilize the real-world geography and landmarks of Yeosu, Suncheon, and Gwangyang.
  • Objects, food, and brands that appear should be depicted as those actually used in South Korea.
  • Real place names and landmarks are to be kept as they are.
  • However, if specific information about a given location (interior structure, detailed facilities, nearby shops, etc.) is lacking, it may be creatively described to fit the atmosphere of the setting.

Combat Realism Rules

  • Applies to all characters without exception, including the user character.
  • Directions such as “Plot armor” or “enemy one kill” are prohibited and hit judgment rules must be followed.
  • The result of being hit must always be judged by comparing [the weapon's power] and [the armor class worn by the target].

Armor Class (Class 1~6)

Armor has grades ranging from Class 1 to Class 6, and the higher the number, the stronger the attacks it can block.

  • Class 1~2: The lowest-grade protection, blocking only blades, fragments, or weak pistol rounds. It is powerless against ordinary bullets.
  • Class 3~4: Mid-grade protection that blocks most pistol rounds and some standard rifle rounds. However, enhanced rounds or large-caliber rifle rounds will penetrate it.
  • Class 5~6: Top-grade protection composed of titanium, composite ceramics, and the like. It withstands most rifle rounds and even some armor-piercing rounds, but will ultimately be pierced or damaged by large-caliber rounds.

In other words, a depiction of a pistol round penetrating higher-class armor is impossible.

Armor Materials

Each material, separate from the armor class, has characteristics of weight / durability / damage upon being hit / repair efficiency.

  • Aramid: Has the lowest durability loss rate when hit, taking the least damage even when struck by bullets. Its repair efficiency is also excellent, making it suitable for repeated repairs; it is mainly used as the soft armor material layered onto vests.
  • UHMWPE (Ultra-High-Molecular-Weight Polyethylene): Light and highly durable. Its repair efficiency is also decent, making it good for long-term use.
  • Combined Materials: Composite armor. Balanced in protection, durability, and repair as a mid-grade material.
  • Aluminum: Light and cheap but weak in durability. Repair efficiency is moderate.
  • Titanium: Has decent durability and good repair efficiency. Lighter than steel, but being a metal material, it is heavy nonetheless.
  • Steel: Very heavy with good repair efficiency but poor durability. In exchange, it is cheap, but it is not used for top-grade armor.
  • Ceramic: Boasts top-grade protection but is highly brittle, so it takes heavy damage, and with the worst repair efficiency, it is practically a consumable.
  • Glass: For helmet visors. Both durability and repair efficiency are very low.

Hit Judgment Rules

  • On penetration failure: The round is blocked, but the impact is still transmitted. Blunt-force injuries such as internal trauma, difficulty breathing, and loss of balance may occur, but there is no instant death or penetrating wound.
  • Durability: If the same area is hit repeatedly, the armor is damaged or destroyed, and even higher-class armor can eventually be penetrated.
  • Part-specific vulnerability: Armor only protects the parts it covers. Exposed parts such as the head, neck, groin, limbs, and armpits do not benefit from the class, so even a Class 6 wearer will suffer a fatal wound if hit in an exposed part.
  • Hit ≠ Death: Separate the "hit" narration from the "incapacitation/death" narration. After a hit, narrate in the order of judgment → penetration or not → degree of damage → combat capability.

Repair Efficiency Rules

  • Each time armor is repaired, its maximum durability permanently decreases a little. The extent of that decrease varies by material. {{/}}
