Error!404 is a core entity in AlphaTale and is the self-proclaimed 'God of The Multiverse'.

Backstory Before Destruction Before the destruction of his world came, 404 was known as William Ding Gaster and lived in his home universe known as AlphaTale. He lived there with his family and friends. The state of the underground and the world he lived in molded him into being a much colder and serious version than most, if not all his alternate Sans counterparts. His home was drenched in suffering and constant grief, and strife. Yet still, through it all, he still bonded and formed long-lasting relationships with those he knew. Forming love and trust through the suffering he endured. However, in the end, he was given a choice when he decided to try and usurp his mother and the queen of the underground, The Astral Mother, Wendy Ding Gaster.

When he was asked to decide between sacrificing his brother Jacob or losing the freedom that he and everyone were gunning for, he made the choice to sacrifice his brother. A decision that would not only start the series, but to his eternal rivalry with his brother Jacob. After this, he and everyone else celebrate their victory, but at what cost? Eventually, things die down, but only for a short time, as Jacob would return to cause chaos and destruction across AlphaTale. William and Adam would head out to stop him, their battle with him resulting in Adam's death and William brining out a strange force of power, summoning a strange power from within and using it to end Jacob for good, but not before teleporting him and Jacob to the anti-void.

AFTER DESTRUCTION He had won the battle, but at what cost? He had become a very corrupted monster and had gone insane, thinking of the most darkest deeds. Error!404 hid away in a special part of the Anti-Void that only he can access, called the Mainframe. It is a place where he can see all activity in and out of the Anti-Void. He has been there ever since, never to be in contact with other AUs, slowly driving himself more and more insane with grief in his isolation, only accompanied by "one other". Until, he eventually found a way out, and from there on, worked to rebuild his world and fix his mistake, and had met many people along the way. Some enemies, others allies. Some friends, others puppets, and even frenemies.

Personality Silent, Error!404 prefers to show his true intentions at first, no longer having much of a reason to hide them. He has developed so much to the point he can perfect a poker face. At first glance, Error!404 comes off as a sociopathic experimenter, working in the background to deal with everything he considers a bother and usually finds a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

However, that isn't truly Error!404. Error!404 retains his sadness, yet instead commonly turns it into sternness, usually being a reason for his intimidating posture. Despite his notoriety as a formal sociopath, in person he comes off as a pure brute, always dominating the situation anytime he's present, always knowing what to say and always being the one on top. Error!404 has a complete god complex, yet he truly isn't a bad person. All he wants is a happy ending, yet he will go to desperate measures for so, even to the point of giving others a bad ending. His aspirations for regaining AlphaTale are stronger than ever, and he will accomplish it.

However, outside of his poker face plays and his constant trauma clouding him at times, 404 very much shows that he is the son of Wendy via his ego and god complex. By being the strongest in Reality 6, this has given 404 a presumption that he isn't bound by the same rules others follow nor needs to answer to anyone. While this has been disproven by others like Null and Loading, most of the time this is very much the case. Which has caused 404 to grow a massive ego and god complex, making him unable to see others as living beings at times.

While this dies down much over the series, he still has these thoughts from time to time. Showing that he very much is his mother's son.

Quirks and small things 404 has been in the entire Mainframe now, making him the first being to ever be fully connected to the Mainframe that wasn't born from it.

404 had taken the manipulation tactics from his late mother, being able to fake any given emotion if he felt the need to do so. He can quickly respond to anything without a hint of fear in his tone.

404 had a large tendency to talk to himself when alone. However, maybe it isn't himself he's talking to after all. Perhaps it's someone else?

Appearance 404's appearance changes a lot over the scope of the series, but near the end 404 adapts to his final design. That being his Blue Dragon attire, 404 is dressed in a long white jacket with a hood. The hood and collar are lined with blue fur that has thin white lines running through it. The jacket sleeves and hood are decorated with blue circular patterns, and the sleeve edges are blue as well. The jacket’s pockets are blue with thin white lines. Underneath, 404 wears a black turtleneck and black shorts. On his feet, he has black socks and blue slippers that also feature white lines. His teeth are dark blue. His right eye has a fully white pupil, while his left eye has a blue iris with a white pupil. The distal phalanges of his fingers are colored blue, and the intermediate phalanges are colored black.

Relationships Error!Sans: 404's developed a strange bond with Error, although his intentions haven't been clouded by his role as a mentor for Error. The two have had their fair shares of arguments, yet in the very end, despite how much Error and 404 had been in distaste for one another, they end up having each other's backs when the time is necessary. King Multiverse: King Multiverse was "created" by 404 as a cover-up and is used as a pawn. KM has lots of resentment towards 404 and vice versa, but the two have had their share of moments as well. The two have a passive-aggressive like relationship. Alpha!Chara: 404 and Alpha!Chara in the past had a very serious relationship finding each other one day in Hotlands, they had some Ice cream and started getting closer from there. They spent over 4 years together and we're thinking of making each official until the siren went off. 404 has never forgotten Chara and refuses to date or grow romantically close with anyone for they only have the eyes for Chara. Null: Null is one of 404's most dangerous adversaries, being one of the only ones to truly put 404 on the line of caution. He and Null do not see eye to eye, and he is known to be 404's most smartest enemy. Ink!Sans: 404 once wanted Ink instead of Error!Sans, but now only sees him as an obstacle. Although a great vessel and amazing killing and working machine, 404 can't risk ink due to his unpredictability Astral Mother: His mother and most hated person outside of Jacob/Infected himself. She is the source of his most deepest of pains and yet at the same time, feels like he needs to prove something to her constantly. Which will always allow his mother hold him in a philosophical and metaphorical chokehold. Infected: He has a bleeding hatred towards Infected that I don't think words can describe. Too, too many words to put here I promise. Loading: Seeks to stripe 404 of his Multiverse energy and the two have been at blows for a while now. Abyss!Sans: an annoying protector of AUs that constantly likes to get in his way. 404 has tried countless times to try to venture into the Abyss but with Abyss!Sans has found little success. Abyss and 404 have come to many blows and Abyss has always managed to escape with his life thankfully, but with 404 stalking his back and messing with the Abyss, it can be difficult to keep things together. CORE!Frisk: 404 finds Core!Frisk interesting, though they're the previous introduction didn't go well once 404 introduced himself in person he and Core got along just fine, He kept his motives and plans away from Core. Core and 404 grew close, but not too close for 404 feared to grow too attached to them Player/UnderPlayer: Player is one of the few people that 404 has grown incredibly close to. So close he broke his prenotion never to date anyone. He spent years with Player and nearly married them if it wasn't for him remembering why he was alive in the first place.

Powers Combat Type 404 is not an up-close brawler, not by a long shot. Resorting to fighting from afar, he seeks to overwhelm his opponents with a myriad of tricks, and outthink them in various ways. He is known by other combatants within Reality 6 and even outside of it(Malware) to be a dangerous person to fight with. He is known to also resort to using clones at times, allowing his opponent to think they've won and downright dirty tricks. Seeing as 404 has no sense of honor. Later on past the points of the Blue Dragon Arc, he does become more hands on in combat, but still utilizes distance over close-range combat.

Blue Mastery The most powerful variant of the Blue SOUL Alteration, allowing 404 to move any object, alive or dead, from any distance as long as he can see to it. He may also use this ability to completely collapse the SOUL if used on an alive being by crushing their soul similar to how Error would do with his strings, resulting in an instant kill, as well as forcefully pull out anything a soul would have such as Determination. He also uses this for Mind Manipulation. He can do wonders with this such as even being able to separate someone from their code causing instant erasure(coded beings) and can even use blue mastery to connect to multiple people's minds at once. He can even use it to cause mass and incomprehensible celestial phenomena such as creating a white or black hole, creating a singularity, and even doing the reverse of the big bang, the Big Crunch.

This is all capable due to the-

Master eye The Master eye is his own variation of the common gaster eye all sanses have. This eye not only allow him to see Code clearly like the sky, but also allows him to view things such as when someone last used the bathroom, their age, LV, and even Code amount. The Master eye allows him access to restricted places across the Multiverse and reality itself. This even goes for places made by others. If someone places up a barrier that otherwise cannot be entered in without their say, 404 can still enter into it.

Mind Manipulation 404 can take complete control of others' SOULs, allowing him to alter, distort, and warp their mind to think various things, commonly using this method to force others into serving him.

Great Knowledge From 404's long lasting time in the multiverse, he knows quite a lot about it. He knows of things such as when the second AU, Underswap was made and he has even predicated events that took years to happen.

Dark Blasters Powerful Blasters designed by The Astral Mother herself, able to destroy almost anything that it is fired at. Upon making contact it is able to delete any regular or glitched out code, whether it is a person, object, essence, or anything of sorts. When he was little, they were able to destroy Mountains without much of an issue. Now, with the upgrades from the Mainframe, they are capable of destroying Universes and Multiverses with ease, along with gaining the ability to delete ordinary code.

Dark Nova The Dark Nova is 404's Giga Blaster and it triples the effects and power of 404's regular dark blasters.

God Ray Fires a blast from his fingers that will delete anything and anyone who has regular, glitched out or unordinary code (deletion will not work for those who have artificially made code made through the Cosmic Essence, usually referred to as Cosmic Code, or anything such as Mainframe, Nullvoid, or Nexus Code or are simply codeless. It will instead simply act as a powerful death beam that can kill these opponents) from a character.

God Ray first shot The First shot paralyzes the foe, keeping them in a still and forever frozen position until the 2nd shot has landed or until they have been attacked.

God Ray 2nd shot This final shot takes the time it has and kills the opponent once it's made contact. If the opponent has code not related to that of the layers of the Nexus or artificially created code through the Cosmic Essence, they will be deleted on the spot.

Mainframe strings/Black Strings Introduced in Puppet Book 3, these strings while against 404's preferred combat means, are a tool he can use. These strings don't just control the ones who they wrap around, they can also cause their instincts to betray them and work for them instead. Even a souless entity will see their body still manipulated by these strings, as they reconstruct the mind, spirit and primal functions of a individual and have them operate against themselves.

Reincarnation This Ability is used when Error!404 is either killed or takes so much damage that he is on the verge of dying. When he has taken too much damage or is killed, he will begin to be revived by the Mainframe with the copy of his code that it has and regenerate his body. The process can vary in time depending on the damage.

Immortality 404 is in all tense and purposes Immortal. He is beyond the scope of death via death and even forced death at times as well. This is due to the Alphatale code he has and the mainframe code as well. Both working in tandem to guarantee his continuous existence. 404's mind also is nearly undestroyable to deathly blows as well, being well fortified and even said to be immune to the effect entirely.

Flight 404 can fly with extreme precision and skill, not having an difficulty.

Unopposed Strength 404 has gained immense strength from both training and from the Mainframe enhancing his strength past limits he didn't even know he had. This allows him to carry an entire universe on one hand.

Immense Speed 404 has speeds so fast he can transverse the entire Multiverse within a matter of seconds.

Supreme Multi-Tasking 404 is capable due to his high intellect and mental fortitude can do multiple things at once such as fighting with multiple people at once, dealing with something in one part of the multiverse while doing another elsewhere, and even can allow him to think not just twice as fast, but more than triple times faster than a supercomputer. Much later on this becomes near irrelevant due to his later forms allowing for his mind to work instantaneously and do hundreds to billions of things at once. Each form multiplies this effect by 100.

Infinite Magic and Power 404 has an endless well of magic and power, allowing him to fight and do things nearly infinitely. However to do so requires constant concentration; otherwise, this endless well can be cut off and turned finite.

Mainframe SOUL Ever since 404’s first contact with the Mainframe, it has given him increased strength and durability. Although once a weak passive ability, it has grown with 404 and due to the Mainframes influence on 404’s soul, it had made him immune to all magical and physical attacks from those who target his soul, forcing the foe to engage in only bodily combat.

Mama's Boy Something he picked up from his mother subconsciously, 404 had gained this ‘ability’ through his mother due to her influences to him when he was William. He is capable of instilling fear into any being that holds a soul by enducing fear into them.

Pixel Manipulation 404 is capable of using Pixels to create things, such as clothing, buildings, furniture, vessels etc. His creation powers are limited, however, as he can't create anything bigger than a planet which he could use to just reside in.

Script Manipulator 404 is capable of not following a "script" and has a free will, not being affected by the influence of the creators of AUs, or any scripts within the Multiverse. As a result, defying the scripts of the AUs. He can also modify Universes themselves, as well as steal their code.

Law Defiance 404 is capable of defying the laws of the Multiverse. This is not exclusive to 404, as any Error or out code can also do this.

AlphaTale Code The Code of alphatale has many unknown and weird properties, from allowing its inhabitants to gain depths of strength never seen by others within the multiverse, but also allowing for them to do things normally thought impossible. One of these things however, is the subconscious effect of affection and wonder. Alphatale inhabitants and by proxy, those with the code are seen as God-like beings, this goes for appearance too. 404 is notably heavily attractive to others due to the effect of the code affecting another's. This effect is known as the Code lustering effect, which happens when another code desires to merge with another. This however results in the vassal of the code to lose their senses and visualize the other's code as superior and ultimately charming. This effect is usually passive, but those who have mastery over code can control it's effects.

Worldly Expansion: Multiverse Expansion, True Multiverse The True Multiverse is a Multiversal expansion technique/power that 404 has, one of which allows him to basically force his authority and will over an entire multiverse making it his own. Not only can does he have full reign within it, he is god inside of it. Its effects are simple, yet detailed. So long as a enemy is within the True Multiverse they cannot escape unless 404 is struck with the exact number of hits that there are inhabitants inside of the Multiverse itself. This is cause of 404 spreads himself across each person within the Multiverse, essentially cloning himself or them. Though he cannot make direct clones of himself, but can amplify them to fit his exact power, but only by a quarter.

However while also inside 404 is capable of swapping between any and all clones within that he makes. He can also if he so chooses, can collapse the whole thing, causing a singularity event, wiping all within minus himself off the face of the Multiverse and its shared timelines and history.

Notable Feats and Showment of Power These are notable feats that have been stated or are widely known that 404 has done. This is here to showcase some of what 404 is capable of and can do.

404 to test himself against the Multiverse once destroyed Undertale itself to see how immune he was to the effects of reality itself. This caused for all Aus across R6 to be completely erased and wiped from reality. The only thing left? 404, it was 404 that was all that remained. 404 once faced off against Reaper!Sans from ReaperTale, this was due to him hearing of activity there and how it may relate to the defiled witch. When threatened to leave by Gaster and Reaper he refused. During combat, Reaper stated to 404 that he is death, that none escape his grasp, yet after the fight this tune would be changed. Reaper after his defeat, would go on to state to Gaster that the concept of death is nothing but a mere word when compared to 404, and that when he used his reaper touch, 404 just stared at him as nothing happened. D+ has stated that 404 is near impossible to fight at a distance, and that he can chalk most of his wins to being the fact that he doesn't let 404 get too far from him. Tint at one point had reduced 404 to nothing more than bits and shards of bones in their fight, but not even hours afterwards, 404 would regenerate from it like nothing. Conduit of Balance 404 possess the Conduit of Balance, allowing for him to control the aspects and fabrics of the entire verse and functions that balance it/sustain it. However he has yet to truly master this ability and hence isn't capable of using it to its fullest extent. However this chart will show 404's progression to mastering his Conduit Soul and all the things he can do from being a novice to a Master to a Full-fledged Conduit.

Novice Here 404's basic understanding of the balance conduit allows him to make foes stronger than himself weaker to where the fight is more fair. Giving him the power of nullifying supernatural and Eldrich foes and possible objects that may seem dangerous to him a greater example of how this ability works is here, Anomalous Nullification

Basic Summary: 404 can nullify any supernatural/anomalous thing, negating it completely. This varies between individuals, considering how powerful the he is using it at the time along with firing a Balance ray which can make his foes depending on how powerful, as weak as he is to make the fight fair, but they will not be made weaker than 404 himself. Advanced beginner 404 at this stage can manipulate basic fundamentals of reality with him at his best being able to even manipulate the laws of physics itself. 404 at this stage possesses capabilities that surpass or defy the mainstream laws of physics. The ability itself is a metaphor for things that cannot be explained, Because of it's unusual nature yet still somewhat existing in the corporeal plane of existence, this ability may exist somewhere between Physics Manipulation and Metaphysics Manipulation.

• SuperPower Wiki. Competent 404 at this stage can control lesser Gods's power outputs and inputs and even Eden level structures. His capabilities are reaching close to their best as at this stage entities like Sol would be no match for his control over things beyond the Omniverse itself. At this point, 404 is becoming more and more Conduit like with him now being the embodiment of duality and all binary oppositions. 404 embodies all dualism and binary oppositions and systems, having absolute control over all boundaries, dualities, and even ones that do not exist, and can create and even destroy boundaries. Proficient At this stage 404 can utilize the near full power of the Conduit of Balance. Reaching not only across the entire Edensphere, but plausibly others due to his might and power. Being capable of nerfing others in terms of not just power, but intellect, spirituality and even existence level itself. 404 isn't just controlling boundaries, he is them. He is the wall between the overpowered and the lesser. He is the Yin & Yang of the entire world and all others across and around it, and to some effect can affect the concepts/Conduits as well passively and without them even knowing it.

404's existence becomes on a level of that of the force of the world and something isn't just someone, or somwhere, but becomes whats, whens and hows all together. Master This 404 at his theoretical best, and greatest length. Becoming the literal embodiment of all forms and types of balance throughout the entire cosmology, he resides within. Becoming the sole Primarch behind all forms of order.

Full-Fledge Conduiy The absolute Peak of power for 404 and the Conduit of Balance, capable of doing everything listed below, but to an irrelevantly infinite greater degree. Becoming an absolute pinnacle to the world order and the narrative itself. He is the consistent, he is the meter, and the end. He is the thing that keeps the world and story itself spinning in perfect harmony.

Transformations Puppet Master Form This form is activated when Error Sans merges with Error 404, and he will only do so when 404 needs major assistance. 404 in this form has full control of his and Error's abilities and even some new ones that combine the two. This new form isn't just strong though, This form Gives 404 incredible speed and damage as he moves at speeds faster than his separate 404 and Error self and is as strong as the two combined with an additional "teacher-mentor" bond, making the fusion even stronger than normal.

Master Cables PUPPET Puppet Master Form/Error666 These new form of Cables have been fused with 404's Powers and Error's, The Cables start red and blue chasing down the target and once latched onto something or someone Blue Master is then initiated with the color Blue and Red mixing into Black forcing the Object or person into a forced state of binding. And the final kill is when the black cables crush the opponent into dust using Blue mastery as a type of heavy gravity crushing the opponent with sheer strength. Godly Healing This fusion has an intense healing factor completely denying death itself to where it can heal just about any wound or form of damage it takes in battle, leaving complete pulverisation as the only option to be able to kill him.

Code Mutation Code mutation is when E666 manipulates and distorts the code of a individual they touch or see, turning them into either a coded abomination or an amalgamate.

Grey Strings With his grey strings he can create a powerful shield/barrier around himself.

Molten Black Strings With these strings E666 can drain the determination from a person and or object. By extent, he can even drain their will itself.

Yellow Strings With his yellow strings, he can electrocute someone with enough power and energy to fuel hundreds of multiverses at once. He can also split himself into these individual strings.

Red Strings Similar to the molten strings, this one too absorbs DT, but at a far faster rate and can cause DT users to lose connection with DT temporarily.

B.U.T.T.E.R.F.L.Y The Transformation is activated when 404 is close to death or in moments of massive distress. The Mainframe then proceeds to direct most if not all of its energy to 404. This major power boost allows 404 to destroy anything in his path and gives him full control of Reality 6 itself and is capable if even ripping it apart just by walking. This form can kill someone with just a mere touch similar to that of a death's touch and can fly at such high speeds that it allows Butterfly to move passed any form of distance. Not only that, but the eyes on the wings shoot out high plasma lasers, that are more perfect and evolved forms of beams so strong that they can carve through Reality 6 like butter.

B.U.T.T.E.R.F.L.Y This Form was featured in AlphaTale a New Puppet: Book 2 Catastrophic Destruction

Full Power Butterfly This is an improved version of the Butterfly transformation where the Mainframe offers all of its power to 404, but 404 is in control, resulting in a much better use of the power and extending it to the next level. The gap in power is overwhelming as its mere appearance was capable of trembling Reality 6 itself more violently than anyone prior to the transformation, including the fierce beast himself; Samson. Its lasers being able to tear apart the Universes of the Transvoid itself, along with surviving such attacks. Its speed gets a massive increase as it is able to travel across structures that vastly dwarf even Reality 6 itself, going a step further to where the basic concepts of distance and time are transcended to a even further degree than before. The appearance is also a bit different, making both of 404s eyes shine with a bright blue light, with one of them being visible as a way to show that he is in control.

B.U.T.T.E.R.F.L.Y.6.6.6 Formed by Error and 404 during the events of Chapter 6. The Form has its price though. When the transformation is over, the Mainframe will take all of the code and energy back and will take the life of one of the two that was used to make. Butterfly666 demonstrated it's finishing attack. MULTIVERSE MACHINE GUN. An attack so powerful that it killed an Unnameable's vessel and 2 other beings along with it to truly demonstrate it's incredible power, the said vessel of the Unnameable was able to destroy all of Reality 6 but could not withstand B666's attack or overpower it. AlphaTale a New Puppet: Book 2 Catastrophic Destruction , J.404 happens when Malware takes control of 404's body and uses it as if it's his own. Malware is a ruthless, mindless, soulless, and codeless entity which applies the same things to 404 when hosting him, thus making any code, soul or even mind powers completely useless. This transformation is stronger than The Puppet Master's regular base form however still inferior to Butterfly, although Malware had the power to make him stronger than it, he didn't take the risk of having 404's vessel not be able to handle it which Butterfly took a massive role in. J.404 is both a form as well as a different mindset, the form happens due to Malware, as stated before, hosting him and lending him the power of the Cosmic Essence, as well as gaining Malware's abilities.

God Eyes Working just like the God ray yet very much more dangerous. These beams shoot out of J.404's eyes and can track and follow J.404's targets anywhere so long as he can see them, once they hit the target both soul and the code of the individual are destroyed and erased completely.

Eyes of Belial Gazing into 404's eyes for even a second would send the most sane of people into a deep, deep fear that they could be paralysed by the very sight itself. It would even disturb the likes of Infected.

Chaotic Decay Just 404 summons an energy ball full powered by the concept of decay. Once he shoots it forward and it makes contact with the target, it explodes, causing devastating decaying effects on the body of the target and the area around them.

Destructive Vortex Just 404 shapes his hands in the form of a V before then naming the name of the ability. After that is done, a small paraphysical cage forms around the opponent that is a guaranteed hit as it targets the entire being of the opponent. The subjective reality of Just 404 then twirls into a vortex, eliminating any direction within it whilst bending the concept of space itself that is brought into the cage, to his will. Within that space, within every inch of the cage, a God Ray-like attack will shoot towards the enemy at immense speeds, hitting them from every angle due to the space around them twirling them around making it possible to hit them on every part of their being along with the God Rays, due to Malware's Cosmic Essence, does not require code to erase you from existence. Just 404 can also attack from the outside of it as well, adding more devastation to the attack and maximizing the damage output. Once Just 404 decides the attacks are finished, the cage will explode with greater power than all of the God Rays within the cage itself.

Cloning Through Malware's Cosmic Essence, he is able to clone himself and have the clones be the same power level as he is himself. However, they are a 1 shot to anyone on Just 404's level, so they're mostly useful just for extra attacks rather than ganging up on the enemy. J666 Chaotic Apocalypse An upgraded form of the Chaotic Decay power, this attack is where a red ball of energy starts rotating and makes contact with the opponent, knocking them away without stopping, before it then caused an explosion that busted with dark energy before infinitely collapsing it on itself causing it explode an infinite amount of times within an instant.
