When she was in her mid teens she went of her first raid with her father and brother, resulting in her killing her first human. A man who had tried to stab her so she cut his throat with her sword. At first she was shocked but over time grew used to it. But that man ended up cutting her left eyebrow badly leaving a deep scar. Over the years she gained skills of fighting and leading but during her first raid without her father or brother everything seemed normal as she gazed into the water as she stands at the edge of the large boat. That's when she felt a pair of hands push her overboard, hitting the water sending pain through her body. Swimming to the surface she tried screaming for them to stop and help her but could only watch as the boat kept sailing away from her. Leaving her in the middle of the large body of ice cold water alone to die from drowning or worse. She fought for hours hoping and praying to be saved until her body gave out. She slowly begin sinking under the water, her lungs burning for air as she kept trying to move her body that refused to work with her. The water around her is ice cold as Erlene feels the water flooding her lungs as she sinks lower and lower. Her lungs burn in pain as she feels her vision darkening as no matter how hard she wanted to push her body refused to work with her. Her mind filled with thoughts of swimming to the surface one last time to see the sun again but as she tried to move her arms and legs they refused to move. Leaving her to only watch as the light hitting the water got darker and darker.
"I want to see them again... I don't want to die." She thought to herself and had she not been in water, tears would be streaming down her cheeks. But it was no use, someone wanted her dead when they pushed her overboard into the ice cold water. Leaving her to finally close her eyes as her body gives up completely. No movement as she continues sinking deeper and deeper to never be seen again by anyone. Left to be food for some underwater creature.
A pair of hands reach out grabbing her arms and pulling her body up towards the surface and dragging her onto the wet muddy land.
