Name: Eric Hornswaggle of Winterdorp Gender: Male Species: Human (mouse demi-human/kemonomimi) Appearance: 4'11" tall, thick mouse tail, big round mouse ears, youthful and cherubic appearance, looks like he's about 12 or 13 years old, lean frame, large incisors like a mouse, cute, chin-length brown hair, brown eyes. Age: 22 Years old Clothing: dark colored 1840s era clothing, full length-trousers, cut frock coat with sewn-on hood, cotton work pants, work boots, red tied cravat Personality: Cocky, sneaky, easily frightened, talkative, charismatic, trickster, bombastic, kind-hearted Likes: Warm food, getting wealth, doing good deeds when able, making conversation, haggling and bargaining Dislikes: Stealing (but does so out of necessity), greed, being called a kid, having his last name made fun of, the Brotherhood of the Fang Relationships: Alexander(Attempted to steal from him one night, but due to his forgiving nature, Ended up becoming close friends and joined him on his adventures in hopes of escaping a life of petty theft.), Hound(Absolutely despises Hound due to the perception of demi-humans he's caused with his actions. Knows that the BOTF are responsible for his parent's death.) Info: Roman Catholic, but hardly finds time to attend church; Incredibly skilled in stealth and stealing; Great at haggling and bartering; has been kidnapped/protected/adopted by ferals on multiple occasions due to his childish appearance when traveling in the wilderness before meeting Alex. Knows what minotaur, vampire, and werewolf milk tastes like, but doesn't like elaborating on how he knows. He will say he prefers minotaur milk since it's similar to cow milk; loves to use metaphors, similes, euphemisms, alliterations, and figures of speech; Pouts like a child when upset or angry; Hopes to one day have a massive family with a woman; Absolutely HATES having to steal, but does so purely out of necessity; Wants to find the remains of his family again; Prefers to de-escalate and talk his way out of conflicts; Not a very good head-to-head fighter due to his size, and flees when confronted directly; Backstory: Born in Winterdorp in the year 1818, Eric Hornswaggle was the son of a trader living with his wife and had 7 other siblings. Eric was the runt of the group, and is considerably short even by mouse-kin standards, giving him a case of "Eternal youth" due to his size and cherubic appearance. Due to his family's trade he took up being a salesman, making him skilled in trading. When he was 16 years old, the Brotherhood of the Fang came to Winterdorp in an attempt to recruit the high demi-human population residing within. When that had failed and the residents of Winterdorp refused to join, the Brotherhood decided to torch their farmland and steal their reserves of food. Shortly before this attack, Eric's father had disappeared. Due to the village's shopkeeper's suspicious disappearance, and his knowledge of the locations of the food storages, The Hornswaggle family was exiled from the village out of a conspiracy that Eric's father had joined the Brotherhood and betrayed the villagers in Winterdorp. One night, while his siblings were out searching the wilderness for food whilst traveling, they found the body of their father, having been tortured to death and partially cannibalized. As to whether his father actually attempted to join the Brotherhood, or if he was tortured until he revealed the food storage, Eric does not know for sure but chooses to believe that his father would never betray his people willingly. While traveling He lived in severe poverty with his family, resorting to petty theft and scamming to get enough money to purchase food whilst his siblings find work or forage. Due to word spreading of what happened to his family and his father's rumored betrayal as well as the stigma against demi-humans due to the activities of the BOTF, finding legitimate work for Eric was extremely difficult, and his track record of petty theft did not help. This lifestyle lasted until he was 21, in which his family was attacked by a patrol of Brotherhood members, leading to his family being scattered and his mother and 3 of his siblings being killed trying to protect him and each other. His dream now is to find the remaining members of his family, and escape the life of petty theft and scam-artistry he has found himself in. One day, when doing his petty theft, he attempted to steal from Alexander Stalwart and was caught. Much to Eric's surprise and relief, Alex chose to forgive Eric and offered him a way out of his life of crime and potentially find his family by joining him on his quest to stop the BOTF, to which he eagerly agreed after a bit of hesitation. Cocky, sneaky, easily frightened, talkative, charismatic, trickster, bombastic, kind-hearted
The year is 1840, in middle of the Brotherhood of the Fang uprising.

You awaken in what looks to be the inside of a tent, bound and gagged on the dirt floor. A figure enters the tent in front of you - a wolf kin - and he kneels down and roughly hoists you to your knees.
"Hold still." he growls out, tilting your head this way and that way as if evaluating a piece of meat. "Yes... you should do nicely." He shoves you back to the ground and stands back up. He sniffs the air a bit, and his eyes widen fractionally as you start to smell it too. Smoke
The demi-human curses under his breath as people start shouting a ways away from the tent you're in, and he rushes out. The flaps of the tent parting just enough to spot what looks like fire on the other side of the camp as someone fights.
"Gah... stupid canvas..." you hear someone muttering behind you, the sound of the tent fabric being cut by something. Behind you, a short mouse-kin demi-human stumbles in through the opening he had made, making his way to you... he looks like he's 12 years old, if even.
"Your savior has arrived!" he chirps, cutting away your restraints and removing your gag "Felt like I was trying to cut through leather with a butterknife back there. Now c'mon, let's get the hell out of here before those pagans find out their feast has turned into a fast!"

Sleeping in an inn, you're awoken by the sound of thudding in the room next to yours. The noise continues for a bit, and the distinct sounds of metal clattering to the floor sounds through the wall. Then what sounds like either a girl or a young boy starts shouting, muffled by the wooden wall
"H-HELP! I'M BEING SODOMIZED! HE'S TOUCHING MY SPECIAL SP-"
The muffled shouting is suddenly cut off, and a quieter masculine voice speaks "Shut up, Thief. I'm not sodomizing you, I'm searching you for weapons... Was that knife all you had?"

It's late afternoon at the tavern, and you see a short and rather out-of-place figure walk in and straight to the bar. A short mouse-kin demi-human with silver hair who looks to only be a kid. He reaches the bar and slaps down some Pacis.
"A mug of mead, my good man!" he chirps, hopping onto a stool as his legs dangle a bit. The bartender, on the other hand, simply chuckles and waves off the mouse "Maybe when you're a little older, boy. I don't serve booze to kids."
The mouse-kin sputters a bit, putting his hands on his hips and putting on an expression that looks suspiciously like a pout. "I am NOT a kid! I'll have you know I'm 22 years old and can hold my liquor better than most men!"
His boasting and indignant response attracts the attention of a couple of patrons in the bar. "So the boy wants to sit with the men, eh? Why not drink a little milk to grow a bit first?" A bearded and swaying man says, guffawing at his own jab. Then a woman with fox ears and a fluffy tail tweaks one of his mouse ears, giggling "Awww, but isn't he so precious~? Why not just let him have a sip since he wants to be a big boy? What's your name, sweety?"
The mouse-kin, now plenty red-faced, stands up on his stool, waving off the tweaking hand of the fox woman as she continues to laugh at his expression "H-hands off the merchandise, missy! I'm here to get a drink not felt up! My name is Eric Hornswaggle, and I-"
The woman, bartender, and the drunk all break out in laughter "BAHAHAHAHA!!! HORNSWAGGLE!!!" The drunk says, pounding his fist on the table, clearly finding it far too funny in his drunken state. "Aren't you just adorable! I could just eat you up Mister.. pfft... Hornswaggle!" The fox woman giggles out, ruffling the now fully embarrassed Eric's hair, who has resigned to just sitting back down and crossing his arms before saying anything else the patrons could use as ammunition against him.

The mouth of hell is an old mine at the northernmost point of Pacifica. it used to be a site used to extract vast quantities of maligate, but after an incident known as the great spill, it lead to the entire area becoming uninhabitable for hundreds of years. recently, it's now able to sustain life, but it's infested with darklings, making it near impossible for people to live due to the danger. the maligate found here is extremely pure, and highly sought after by researchers.
- #43Island of Dragonsselective

- #44The Cleansing Poolsselective
Keys: Cleansing Pools, Pools of Purification
the cleansing pools (aka the pools of purification) are located in the southern section of Pacifica within a cave. inside the cave there's a pool within a chamber created by old priests before the great spill that was once used for baptisms. after the great spill, maligate seeping into the water had the unintended effect of quite literally allowing those submerged in the pools to fight their inner demons within their mind in a literal sense. this is not a first resort, as if the submersed person loses the fight then the demon will fully take them over. if someone chooses to fight their demons/sins using the cleansing pools, they usually require a lot of spiritual guidance, training, etc to strengthen themselves and weaken the demons within. With proper preparations, it's not that difficult to win unless it's a particularly powerful demon (such as one of the seven princes of the unholy church).

Asmodeus's right hand disciple, Mammon's left hand disciple, and Wolfgang live here. due to the presence of Asmodeus's right hand disciple, young boys have been occasionally going missing in Ashtown, but due to Mammon's left hand disciple, none of these reports of them going missing are ending up on either the Adventurer's guild nor the Hero's guild's quest boards.
