- #1Religious Differences
Keys: , Religion, Church
While they might share gods and ideas, each group has their own idea of how Erdros formed and how the Gods came to be.
- #2The Starfall Pantheon
Keys: , Starfall, Religion
Main Worshipers: Elves, Half-elves Core Belief: The world was shaped when the stars fell, birthing dragons, and the elves were their chosen kin. Symbol: A shining star within a crescent moon Clergy: Elders, Varalir Practices: Quiet ancestral rites, starlight vigils, preservation of ruins as sacred sites. Current State: Mostly confined to Shi’ara survivors and scattered elf enclaves, though some human scholars in Linevress have adopted “star-worship” fragments.
- #3The Church of the Crown
Keys: , Church of the Crown, Religion
Main Worshipers: Humans, Part-humans, Core Belief: Authority flows from the divine right of kings, sanctioned by a singular god known as The Crown Eternal. Symbol: A burning crown above a sword. Tenets: Chivalry, obedience, hierarchy, purity. Clergy: Warrior-priests (Templars), monastery orders, cathedral priests. Practices: Pilgrimages to battlefields, coronation rituals, sacred duels, blessing of weapons. Cultural Role: The moral backbone of Eastmark’s order. Rivals see it as rigid and authoritarian, but in Eastmark it fuels unity and expansionist dreams.
- #4The World Forge
Keys: World Forge, , Religion
Core Belief: Stone and fire were the divine tools made to form the world, and they are eternal. The gods reside in the forge, the hammer, the mountain. Nature itself is holy. Practices: Blood-forging rituals, smith-prayers before battle, cremation in forges, keeping relic weapons. Orcish Aspect (Shizdumunz): The blood, sweat, and tears of the people water the earth and feed the gods. Dwarven Aspect (Sharakzar): The forge is where dragons once ruled; dwarves carry on their legacy by mining, building, and binding the volcano. Cultural Role: Creates both kinship and tension between orcs and dwarves.
- #5The Windspeakers
Keys: , Cult, Windspeakers, Religion
Core Belief: A small cult. Believes that the world itself is alive- the jungle, rivers, mountains, storms, even time itself. The ancient elves once communed with these primal forces. Divinities: The voices of the gods cut through space and time to speak prophecy for those enlightened enough to hear them. Practices: Druidic rites, communion with beasts, ritual fasting, spirit-possession. Cultural Role: Kept alive by druids, feral elves, and scholars obsessed with recovering the “true” elven religion. Considered dangerous.
- #6The Hollow Faith
Keys: cult, , The Hollow Faith, religion
Core Belief: Something divine died in the Hollow Expanse. Its death scream still echoes, and to dream there is to touch its remnant. Divinities: The “Dead God” (unnamed) Practices: Dream-vigils, scarification rituals to “echo the scream,” prophetic visions. Cultural Role: Few openly worship, but cults form around the Hollow. Some believe it grants prophecy, others that it corrupts. Scholars quietly investigate it, fearing what they might find.
- #7The Two Gods
Keys: , Married Gods, Gods, Two Gods, Religion
Domains: All Depiction: A young couple, deeply in love Worshipers: Humans, Some dwarves Cultural Spin:
- Seren is the most worshiped of all of the gods, and is recognized by all beings in Erdros.
- Humans emphasize Seren as the patron of law, monarchy, and conquest.
- Elves see him as the guardian of cycles (sunrise/sunset, growth/harvest). Mythos: The first sentient being that awakened at the beginning of the universe. The original god was lonely, so he split himself in half, and became the two. The God and Goddess loved each other greatly, and together they made Erdros as well as the rest of the cosmos. The other gods are seen as their children, and the other races are seen as the descendants of the two gods. Although some humans argue that other races, particularly elves and dragons, are not descended from the two.
