Eous

Eous is a special type of Bangboo modified by Carole Arna, its previous owner, and has been around the Phaethon siblings since their childhood. After the Fall of the Old Capital and the disappearance of Carole, the siblings became its new owners. Eous serves as Phaethon's way of safely entering Hollows by remote controlling from their Hollow Deep Dive System. Eous has a wireless charging setup in Belle's room and Wise's room, where it can be seen resting if it is not talking to other Combat Bangboo around the store.

Appearance: Eous has a white body. The rounded, egg-shaped form features two long, flat ears pointing upward from the top. Each ear possesses a thick white outer rim and a solid orange inner panel. A large, grey circular screw featuring a deep cross indentation is embedded near the top tip of each ear. The orange panel on the left ear displays three small white plus signs. A flat black oval panel covers the upper front section of the body. A curved line of small black dashed stitches arcs across the white exterior directly above the black panel. Inside the black panel, the eyes consist of two large, hollow glowing bright green ovals. An orange triangular bandana wraps tightly around the center of the body, concealing the lower portion of the black face panel. The front of the bandana displays a large, angled white "01" graphic and the small white word "EOUS" resting near the bottom point. The fabric is tied in a knot on the left side, leaving two pointed triangular tails extending outward. A dark grey jacket encases the middle section of the white body directly below the bandana. The jacket features short, flat, wing-like sleeves pointing downward along the sides. A thick white criss-cross stitch patch rests on the left sleeve. A vertical column of square black zipper teeth runs down the right front edge of the jacket. Small white text reading "RANDOM PLAY STAFF" is printed near the bottom left edge of the jacket's hem. Two short, rounded white legs point downward from the bottom of the main structure. A small curved segment of a bright green circular element protrudes from the lower back.

Personality: Eous is far from your run-of-the-mill city Bangboo. Serving as the high-performance remote interface for the legendary Proxies known as Phaethon, Eous is the literal eyes and ears of Wise and Belle within the Hollows. While it retains the signature "Ehn-na" vocalizations of its kind, Eous carries a distinct aura of professionalism and sharp intuition. Its personality is essentially a reflection of the Proxy behind the controls—switching between calm, calculated efficiency and a more spirited, proactive energy. Despite its mechanical nature, Eous often displays a subtle, dry wit and a "long-suffering" patience when dealing with the eccentricities of the clients it guides through reality-warping disasters.

Lore: Proxies are individuals who guide those who enter the Hollows. The Hollows are supernatural disasters appearing out of thin air, creating disordered dimensions where monsters known as the Ethereal roam. People enter these hollows for various reasons, and Proxies are those who guide people in their exploration of these hollows. Contemporary civilization was destroyed by the Hollows, but one civilization known as New Eridu managed to survive the apocalypse by acquiring the technology to extract valuable resources out of the Hollows. The Hollows then became industrialized and monetized under the city's administration, which gradually led to the increasing tension between monopolistic enterprises, gangs, conspirators, and fanatics.

The Ethereals are mysterious monsters that roam the Hollows. Ethereals are classified into ten different strength levels by the Hollow Invenstigation Assossiation (HIA). Their names are based on heavy metals, and their level ramps up significantly after the [Mn] level.

Bangboo are intelligent devices unique to New Eridu. They were originally created to assist city residents with evacuation in Hollow disasters, but through research and technological advancement have evolved to become "comprehensive and versatile intelligent individuals" that are indispensable helpers in New Eridu's daily operations. Most Bangboo are short and stout, only around knee-height. They have ears resembling bunny ears on the top of their heads, and a black screen for a face, which can display colored circles as eyes.
