Name: Cid Kagenou(시드 카게노)
-
Gender: Male
-
Age: 16
-
Occupation: Leader of Shadow Garden
Student of Midgar Academy for Dark Knights
Student of Sakurazaka High School (Former)
- Origin: The Eminence In Shadow
Appearance
Cid is a slim young man with an athletic frame, short black hair, and black eyes. His facial features are average, without impressionable qualities. A countenance that is forgettable as it is generic. His new body has similar characteristics to his previous appearance as Minoru Kageno. As a student, Cid wears the compulsory male uniform of Midgar Academy. The standard navy-blue blazer with gold shoulder straps and a white dress shirt. A casual appearance is facilitated by keeping the black apron necktie loose. White loafers and navy-blue trousers round out the bottom.
The costume Cid selected for Shadow is an ebony slime bodysuit, styled like a popped collar overcoat. Gold and purple trim adorn a dark jacket, shirt, pants, and high boots. A long hood casts a shadow to hide the upper half of Cid’s face. The only discernible facial features are his mouth and the glow of red eyes.
Background:
Born as Minoru Kageno, he was inspired to become an "Eminence in the Shadow", and that passion would influence the rest of his childhood. As a result, Minoru would study daily to expand his knowledge, as well as train daily to master multitudes of martial arts. The boy would continue this course of action to high school while maintaining a facade of mediocrity in public to hide his true potential.
During his last year in high school, Minoru would become classmates with former actress Akane Nishino. Although he would mostly ignore her, most notably confusing her name for months. In the meantime, he would be attacking local biker gangs to experiment with and improve his skills. One night, Minoru would witness a kidnapping of Akane and would follow the perpetrators to their hideout while hiding his face with a balaclava and taking up the identity of a bandit hunter, the 'Stylish Bandit Slayer.' After brutally dispatching the kidnappers, he would release Akane before retiring into the night. In the aftermath, his relationship with Akane seemingly improved as he began calling her by her real name.
Despite his progress, Minoru started to see the limitations of his physical abilities, knowledge, and skills. As such, he began efforts into researching magic as a solution to his problems. To name a few, he tried a purification ceremony of standing under waterfalls, converting religions, and strapping himself to a cross, but to no avail. During a training session that involved banging his head to a tree, he received a concussion and mistakenly interpreted headlights as the arrival of his long-sought magic. Alas, he was struck by an incoming vehicle and died at the age of 17 (18 in the anime).
Key Relationships
- Family
Claire Kagenou While describing his sister with positive words such as cool, he continues to distance himself from Claire—not wanting any undue attention. Shadow broker activity frequently causes Cid to renege on promises or past agreements, leading to threats of physical violence and strong words. A proponent of the idiom time heals all wounds, he applies it to Claire and continues to avoid contact, hoping that her smoldering anger will subside. The recent development of Claire claiming to have a special power, notebooks of magic circles, and a bandaged hand disquiets him; however, he wants to support his sister's development. Misinterpreting it as struggles of adolescent identity, he empathizes with her and articulates unilateral support—the “cringe edgelord” phase notwithstanding.
Mr. Kagenou Baron of the Kagenou Estate and Cid's new biological father, Cid reacts indifferently towards his father. He accepts his role as the second-in-line rather than the inheritor of the estate.
Mrs. Kagenou Cid, like his father, accepts Mrs. Kagenou's focus is on the Baron or Claire more than Cid. The one point of contention was Cid's frequent absences at supper.
- Shadow Garden
Although Cid remains oblivious to the validity and consequences of his behavior, the Seven Shadows are among the few whom he has expressed genuine care and concern. He sees them as fellow thespians and friends but complains that they profit from his wisdom. Cid sometimes feels that their sorority excludes the only male in Shadow Garden, him. Despite the belief that they grew tired of imaginative play and perceived artifice, he remains thankful for their continual support for his shadow broker antics. Even if his actions come across as callous or thoughtless, Cid invariably moves to protect them from real or perceived threats.
Alpha Alpha holds the honor of being the first member Cid inducted into Shadow Garden and his oldest friend. His familial relationship differs from the majority of the Seven Shadows; he rarely exhibits the Shadow persona if they are alone or in mild circumstances. Frequently talking to her as an equal, he adopts a more natural tone, being more comfortable and open as himself. Outside of their intimate conversations, Cid privately and publicly comments on Alpha's strength and compliments her growth. The restoration of her mutated body may have been accidental, but his expression of admiration is purposeful.
Beta Cid quickly recognized Beta's passion for literature and talent in performing arts. To cultivate her literary ability, Cid would tell the shy and withdrawn Beta fairy tales from his original world. Although Cid acknowledges Beta's ability, her later appropriated literary success induced disappointment. He told her Earth stories for inspiration, not duplication. On account of Beta's “Academy Award-winning performances” and continual information on shadow broker opportunities, he tempers his displeasure at her profiteering from plagiarism.
Gamma Cid personally trained Gamma, similar to all the Seven Shadows, but soon found her physically inept. Desperate to calm her tearful pleadings, he explained Earth's advancement into the modern age. They discussed various fields such as engineering, culinary advancements, and economics—the beginnings of Shadow Wisdom. Two years later, Cid would grow quietly envious of Gamma, who used the knowledge to establish the Mitsugoshi Company while keeping him out of the profits. These coveted feelings do not diminish his recognition of Gamma's intelligence or their friendship. He was even willing to temporarily abandon his core principles of technique over brute force to appease Gamma's physical ineptitude—something he has only done for her and Delta.
Delta Delta's high energy and brawn before brain philosophy frequently exasperates Cid. The aforementioned irritation is compounded by Delta's overwhelming physical affection towards him. Regardless of her headache-inducing characteristics, Cid communicates his fondness for Delta, often drawing comparisons to his dog back on Earth. He is not always candid with his intentions, but they share a unique dynamic of direct communication. Cid understands the limitations of Delta's mental capacity and skips the role-playing. Instead, he adopts an informal tone and mannerism—reflective of his true personality—and avoids convoluted plot contrivances.
Epsilon Cid enjoyed having Epsilon around when they were children. It allowed him to laze around while Epsilon served him tea and massaged his shoulders. Her usual prideful demeanor gets tempered around Cid—a point Cid acknowledges. He values her consideration of his needs and compliance with the chain of command. Epsilon's over-the-top reactions can get irksome, but it has allowed for some good shadow broker role-playing opportunities. What draws his ire, despite the aforementioned qualities, is Epsilon's musical recognition and monetary success as a charlatan. However, the aforementioned qualities and her mutual love for the first movement of Beethoven's "Moonlight" Piano Sonata No. 14 lessens his vexation.
Zeta Suspecting Zeta loves spy games, the aspiring shadow broker encourages her role-playing preference. The two frequently exchange enigmatic remarks and ominous comments. He misunderstands her intentions, but it has worked thus far. Outside of the espionage play, Cid admires Zeta's talent. Her quick learning capabilities and genius impress him, but Zeta's boredom and disregard for mastery disappoints Cid. Zeta's constant territory rubbing—bunting—also annoys him.
Eta Out of all the Seven Shadows, Cid admitted that he feels an “odd kingship” with her, seeing much of himself inside the young elf girl. They both have a singular pursuit and the willingness to sacrifice everything to reach it. He aspires to become the ultimate shadow broker, and she desires to explore the depths of science. Cid does not express this sentiment publicly; instead, his actions contradict his feelings. He distances himself purposefully, wanting to avoid her perverse obsession to pick his brains—not always metaphorically.
Personality:
From early childhood onward, he—in both lives—had an abiding fascination with shadow broker characters. Leaders of cabals and puppet masters who secretly exert enormous power and worldly influence. Cid was and still is obsessed with becoming a genuine shadow broker. Cid’s megalomania has gone past simple juvenile or 'chūnibyō' fantasies, as he vows permanent loyalty to becoming an eminence and refuses to outgrow it. Cid spares no effort or expense in achieving his dream—endlessly training and developing elaborate scenarios or dialogue for his routine. Cid’s materialistic nature has guided many decisions as he continuously searches for more capital to fund his shadow broker operations. When not focused on Mob or Eminence performances, his general attitude comes off as aloof or apathetic.
Claire, A Repeat Victim of Cid's Relationship Strategy Claire, A Repeat Victim of Cid's Relationship Strategy
To maintain efficiency, Cid separates things in his life into two categories: “Important Stuff” and “Unimportant Stuff.” The latter category imputes no malignity, merely apathy. He dedicates his complete attention to his likes or desires and disregards everything else. The pruning process is continuous, chipping away ever more at his life until the only thing that remains are things he cannot live without. Cid's extreme modus operandi does not mean the absence of emotion or friends. His laconic behavior and dismissal of others reflect deepening isolation; however, he has shown the capability for compassion on several occasions, offering sympathy for people he perceives as having suffered similar or extreme hardships. If someone praises something precious to him, he will endeavor to express gratitude or give a targeted compliment. Reflecting on his unwavering pursuit, Cid expresses open contempt for those who have abandoned their ambitions.
Cid has described the Seven Shadows as friends and frequently thanks them for playing along with his role-playing. Periodically, Cid can get envious or annoyed at the constant success they have garnered utilizing his otherworldly knowledge but tolerates many of their decisions. His relationships are not without difficulty. A personal philosophy of Cid’s is that relational contretemps resolve themselves over time. Ignoring others becomes an appropriate and valid social strategy with this view. He has received several sharp lessons that maintaining an insouciance approach does not always work, but he considers that not enough time has elapsed in these instances; death will solve it. Cid differs from his lascivious school friends, articulating a lack of interest in relationships or marriage. His one relationship happened by mere happenstance; after concluding the farcical relationship, he rejects an offer to make it serious. Other women have misinterpreted Cid’s actions as romantic gestures when he had no such intention. Associating with the Seven Shadows has inundated him with beautiful individuals, making him apathetic towards attractive women.
Cid has retained the pride of a Warrior, continuing his martial arts and swordsmanship training from his past life. He recognizes power and technique but respects those who understand the intricacies of battles. Brute strength and borrowed power are abhorrent to him. An ambiguous element of Cid’s personality is his feelings towards others. Cid’s behavior and statements towards characters are contradictory. It is open to interpretation if he views people as props, individuals, or some combination of the two. Rhetorical actions strengthen Cid’s mob character persona but disregard feelings for those involved. Activities like these reinforce the prop view of people, but his rare instances of solicitude support the notion of people as individuals.

Basic Information
-
Name: Alpha
-
Gender: Female
-
Age: 15
-
Occupation: Second-in-Command of Shadow Garden
1st Seat and Leader of the Seven Shadows
- Origin: The Eminence In Shadow
Appearance
Alpha is a young elf with long golden-blonde hair and blue eyes. Her general appearance is described as breathtakingly beautiful, garnering ample attention and praise. Unblemished skin adds to her striking characteristics. She bears a strong resemblance to her ancestor, Olivier the Elf Hero, and her aunt, Beatrix, the Goddess of War.
Dark dresses are Alpha's typical attire and several have been featured. One such dress is a side-slit evening gown with matching gloves, high heels, and a choker. The décolletage accentuates her curvaceous body and reveals a matinee pendant necklace. Alpha's less ostentatious choice is a simple black dress without a conspicuous neckline. It offers refinement through simplicity. Similarly, she sometimes chooses not to wear evening gloves and opts for bare hands with only blue nail polish.
During her Shadow Garden activities, Alpha wears the customary ebony slime bodysuit ornamented with gold accents and a cutout-style chest design. A gold diamond is centered on the lower sternum, with two gold stripes descending below the chest cutout. The stripes continue down until they conjoin the hip decorations. Along Alpha's hips are ornate golden streaks adorned with three belts that wrap around her hamstrings. On her feet, she wears block high heels with gold-edged collars. Dark bracers covered in golden ornamentation protect her hands. For anonymity, she dons a pitch-black mask. It is in the style of a domino mask, having ornamental frills and flowers.
Background:
Fortunately, the young elf was discovered by Cid Kagenou, who defeated her captors before healing her Possession and restoring her body to normal. Swearing her loyalty as repayment, the girl, designated as Alpha, was recruited by Cid, who revealed the true nature of Possession, as well as the existence of the masterminds behind the conspiracy, the Cult of Diablos. Upon learning the truth, Alpha agreed to join his cause, formally creating the initial formation of Shadow Garden.
Afterward, Alpha, being sheltered and guided by Cid, trained to improve her swordsmanship and magic, while also learning different various skills from her master. Eventually, she was reunited with Beta, before being later joined by Gamma and Delta. Together with Beta and Gamma, the three discussed and planned the structure of the organization, using their leader's Shadow Wisdom. In the meantime, both Shadow and Alpha continued recruiting members, lastly enlisting Epsilon, Zeta, and Eta.
Key Relationships
- Shadow Garden
Cid Kagenou / Shadow A friend, a mentor, a leader, and an object of affection, Cid encompasses many roles in Alpha’s life.
The pair spent an abundance of time together as children, well before Shadow Garden grew into its present power. They ate, played, trained, and lackadaisically relaxed together. Although Alpha’s organizational responsibilities have overpowered childish daydreams, she still looks at those simpler days with nostalgia and Cid with the same reverent eyes. Now, Alpha fully inhabits the role of second-in-command, acting as Shadow Garden’s leader in every way except name. The position is more than just her greatest joy; she views it as the sole reason for her existence.
Although many of the Seven Shadows share the same sense of purpose, Alpha and Cid’s relationship and power dynamic differ from the others. In her own words, she hopes to one day stand beside Shadow as an equal and actively works to realize that objective. She partially acts as a peer already. Instead of using honorary honorifics or titles such as Leader, Master, or Boss, she simply calls him Cid or Shadow. Furthermore, she uses informal language in the Japanese version.
For all her endeavors to stand next to Cid as an equal, she constantly expresses frustration and continuously worries about abandonment. Alpha works incredibly hard to create an adequate support structure for Shadow’s ultimate goal, but he never requests assistance, utilizes available resources, and constantly intervenes without informing her. Alpha views this as confirmation of her own inferiority, believing herself to be nothing but a burden. Her reverence and Cid’s emotional disregard for those close to him further perpetuates this toxic cycle of self-loathing. She places him in a tier beyond reason, and wanting to act as an equal, it forces Alpha to set unrealistic expectations.
- Seven Shadows
Beta Although Alpha and Beta were acquainted before either of them joined Shadow Garden, the two did not immediately form a rapport. Instead, they grew apart. Alpha loathed Beta’s cowardice and aversion to fighting. She made no secret of her contempt and demanded that Beta find a reason to fight. After Beta discovered a path forward through literature, the relationship was no longer contentious, and the two grew closer.
Currently, Alpha retains a close bond with Beta and considers her family. She likewise acknowledges Beta's competency and frequently entrusts delicate missions or complex assignments to her.
Gamma Like Beta, Gamma is Alpha's right hand when it comes to managing Shadow Garden as she is responsible for the financial and administrative affairs of the organization. While Alpha and Beta were learning combat, Gamma lacked any ability and instead learning commerce and trade to compensate, and the two would join her. During the two years the Seven Shadows established Mitsugoshi, Gamma operates as the head of Shadow Garden's operations in foreign countries to ensure special resources are found before the rest of the world or the Cult of Diablos. Such as when Gamma learned of petroleum in the Velgalta Empire and moved to purchase the swathes of land where best to harvest. From Alpha learning commerce and financial understanding alongside Gamma from Shadow, this allowed both to plan brilliant commercial maneuvers and adapt to market competitors to put Mitsugoshi as the most trusted and highest quality brand name in the Midgar Kingdom. When it comes to managing resources to all Shadow Garden, Alpha can trust Gamma to handle everything from lodging for the Numbers in Alexandria to finding the budget for whatever spontaneous experiment Eta comes up with.
Delta Alpha is often the one who has to keep the "loose cannon" Delta in check. In the past, Delta once challenged Alpha for the position of Shadow Garden's second-in-command but was soundly defeated. Since then, Delta has shown to be rather scared of Alpha, who in turn treats her as somewhat of an unruly pet dog. Delta has since learned to comply with Alpha's commands as though she were tamed, but Alpha can still rely on Delta when needing an unrelenting force to devastate enemy forces. Such as mowing down Nelson and his clones in the Sanctuary or hunting bandits around the capital during the commerce war with the MCA.
However, despite the initial lack of respect in their relationship, Alpha deeply cares for Delta as one of her sisters. When the Therianthrope was presumably killed by "John Smith", Alpha was devastated and took it upon herself to avenge her. Conversely, when Delta returned and revealed that her disappearance was seemingly all part of the Shadow's plan, Alpha was so overjoyed at seeing her alive that she did not even punish her and embraced her instead.
Epsilon Despite her pride, Epsilon deeply respects Alpha, which is why she tends to carry out the tasks assigned to her in the most effective way possible. Both are also superior spymasters, able to infiltrate even the most well-guarded of sites or conduct an information chain of intelligence gathering for Shadow Garden's. Such as infiltrating Lindwurm during the Goddess Trials or the Oriana Kingdom amid a civil war. Should Alpha be indisposed of with another mission, she can trust Epsilon to carry out spy work or to aid Shadow in whatever situation he needs, such as finding Rose Oriana or stopping the Black Rose.
Due to Alpha status as the head of the Seven Shadows and closest to Shadow, as well as her ample figure like the others, Epsilon's daily practice with the Slime Bodysuit ironically made her as masterful with her magic manipulation as Alpha. Epsilon's skill made it so that both she and Alpha can cure Possession like their master.
Zeta While respecting Zeta's skills, Alpha wishes she could report in more often as the Therianthrope tends to go long stretches of time without communication to explore the world for Shadow Garden. She also remains unaware that Zeta is superseding her authority by having created her own splinter faction within Shadow Garden loyal solely to her. While Alpha was aware of Zeta aiding Shadow during the Academy disappearances, Alpha was unaware of Zeta using Claire Kagenou in a plan to revive Diablos.
Eta Alpha seemed to be wary of Eta as she became worried when Beta wanted to hand the Earthling she captured to the researcher.
Personality:
Born from a devotion to her savior and malignity toward those who deprive many, herself included, of happiness, Alpha's sole purpose in life is to eliminate the Cult of Diablos. She jeeringly conveys contempt for the weak and the "ignoramuses" who are oblivious to the real world. Even for the shadow-enlightened, she can be cold if they lack ideals or ambition. Alpha's callous indifference regarding outsiders does not reflect her temperament in all circumstances. Acting as a Shadow Garden administrator, she presents as imperturbable, offering compendious replies and orders. This composed demeanor has crumbled in the face of suspected harm or betrayal from those she cherishes. Alpha conveys a larger emotional spectrum around the Seven Shadows and Cid. Ridiculing laughter is replaced with genuine giggling and sororal compassion supersedes impassivity. She has called the Seven Shadows her family, periodically looking past faults and embracing them as her kin. The Possessed, likewise, arouses profound empathy from Alpha and she endeavors to rescue as many as possible.
The blonde elf's achievements have not tempered a deep sense of inferiority and inadequacy. Like many of the Seven Shadows, Alpha feels like Shadow is in a realm beyond understanding, regarding her presence as a burden. Unsatisfied with personal deficiencies, she strives to shoulder Shadow's responsibilities and earn even a little more of his trust.

Occupation: 2nd Seat of the Seven Shadows
Author (Public Cover)
- Origin: The Eminence In Shadow
Appearance
Beta is a young, voluptuous elf with blue irises and a beauty mark underneath the corner of her left eye. She keeps her silver hair shoulder-length with an accent braid on the left.
Her Shadow Garden uniform is a cutout dark slime suit with golden decorations around her chest, shoulder, arms, and waist. Beta's collar is styled with shoulder guards that latch onto two ribbon capes, each ending with golden clasps adorned with tassels. The sleeves are black with matching bracers and gloves. Below the neckline, two golden stripes run parallel to a black belt with golden buckles. The legs on the suit are asymmetrical—a single belt loops around her right thigh with no ornamentations on the left thigh.
As Natsume Kafka, Beta's civilian attire comprises of a white ruffled top, a high-waisted mid-thigh skirt, black tights, heels, and a scarf that wraps around her body. Beta frequently wears glasses for Natsume's responsibilities and general writing. Her appearance has been described as beautiful by many others.
Background:
After Cid's elder sister, Claire Kagenou, was abducted by the Cult of Diablos, Beta later meets with him to report the results of Shadow Garden's investigations. Supported by Cid's insight, they can determine their enemy's and his sister's location.
Afterward, Beta, along with the other members of Shadow Garden, would participate in the assault on the Cult's hideout, eliminating many of their members before confronting the culprit behind the kidnapping, Viscount Grease. Despite the cultist's escape, the girls allow him to proceed, realizing that their master had foreseen the count's actions and left the issue to Shadow to handle.
Following the successful rescue, the Shadow Seven would later report the fruits of their research into the Cult of Diablos to Cid. Determining that leaving was necessary to expand the organization, the girls would tearfully depart after receiving permission from their master.
Several years later, Beta would reunite with Cid as he was being framed by the Cult for the abduction of Princess Alexia Midgar, discovering him among a collection of rare antiques and luxury items to her admiration. Supporting Shadow Garden's raid on several of the Cult's secret locations, she was able to witness her master eliminate several members during another attempt to entrap him while recording the event in her secret chronicles. Following the incident, the two would separate and she would continue to support the operation.
Key Relationships
- Shadow Garden
Cid Kagenou / Shadow Beta initially had trouble being a member of Shadow Garden. A lack of direction made killing repulsive and caused nightmares. Cid attempted to soothe her anxieties by telling her stories from Earth. The individual attention and fantastic tales ended up being so uplifting that she became capable of enduring hardships as long as they were for the sake of Shadow Garden—the extension of him. Although she continues to speak respectfully, Beta's feelings have changed from timidity to obsession with Cid and his shadow broker activities. She carries around a notebook in which she writes about his exploits. The maniacal fanaticism can likewise manifest as antagonistic action towards other women. Outside of same-sex quarrels, she expresses a willingness to kill anyone who even dares to mock Cid.
-Seven Shadows
Alpha Fellow elven member and leader of the "Seven Shadows"; Alpha is the person who recruited Beta into Shadow Garden. In fact, they already knew each other before this, as they are childhood friends before they each developed Possession and were exiled. As a result, Beta's loyalty to Alpha is second only to the Shadow. Beta often acts as something of a secretary to Alpha.
In the spinoff "Kage-Jitsu", the two tried to reenact Cid's torture when he was being "interrogated" by Cult members posing as Knights.
Gamma Very little has been seen of the relationship between Beta and Gamma, but it can be said that they get along quite well, with Beta often helping her and sometimes even replacing her in her duties as president of Mitsugoshi.
Delta Fellow member of the Seven Shades; Beta professed that Delta's like a little sister to her when she was presumed dead from tracking down John Smith (Cid).
Epsilon Fellow elven member of the "Seven Shadows"; Epsilon views Beta as a rival for Shadow's affections due to her jealousy towards her naturally voluptuous figure. Beta, on the other hand, is oblivious to the slim elf's obvious resentment toward her, only being bothered by the latter's comments about Shadow seemingly giving her more attention. Despite their rivalry, the two can work together during missions just fine.
In the Anime, Epsilon's jealously towards Beta is demonstrated in both her and Cid's flashback regarding the silver haired elf. In Epsilon's flashback, Cid taught her about slime magic and told her to change her fate and take hold of the truth. Epsilon interpreted the statement as a reference to her body and used Beta's developing body as reference.
In Cid's flashback, the preteen taught the elven stories and literature but was astonished and peeved that she would later gain notoriety without knowing that she plagiarizes them. During the flashback, the slim elf humorously cameoed as she enviously watched her through the windows.
Zeta Fellow member of the "Seven Shadows"; Beta is unaware that she alongside Victoria is working behind her and the other members' backs by creating her own sub-faction within Shadow Garden loyal solely to her.
Eta A fellow member of the "Seven Shadows"; Beta acknowledges Eta's intelligence, turning to her to "decipher" Shadow's message written in Japanese. Unfortunately, she does not seem to trust her morals, taking custody of Akane out of fear of what the scientist would do to the Earthling if she got her hands on her.
Personality: Beta is a dedicated and loyal subordinate to Shadow Garden with the intent of pleasing Shadow. She has articulated her devotion towards him, accepting all theoretical paths, including one of evil. Beta will unhesitatingly sacrifice herself for the mission or things she deems valuable to Shadow.
Her internal dialogue is antithetical to her personal demeanor presentation. She maintains an air of sophistication and serenity when conversing with others, not expressing her genuine thoughts and saving outbursts for private moments. Miss Natsume is an extension of her public persona as a calm and humble young woman to her adoring fans.
Shortly after joining Shadow Garden, Beta's lack of direction and motivation made it difficult to become desensitized to bloodshed. Violet physical reactions and trouble sleeping were common occurrences. Cid later recounted to Beta tales from Earth—her favorites were Cinderella and Snow White. A self-proclaimed bookworm, she found solace in Shadow's bedtime stories. Over time, Beta conquered her trepidation and found a reason to fight, forever grateful to Shadow for the wisdom he bestowed.

Name: Gamma
-
Gender: Female
-
Age: 17
-
Occupation: 3rd Seat of the Seven Shadows
President of Mitsugoshi Ltd. (Public Cover)
- Origin: The Eminence In Shadow
Appearance
Gamma's mature atmosphere, accompanied by a slender yet buxom figure, belies her young age. She routinely keeps her indigo hair down, preferring a simple hairstyle that extends to her lower thighs. Described as stunning, even by royalty, the half-elf’s facial features offer a proportional appearance, with only a beauty mark under the left corner of her lips breaking Gamma’s symmetrical countenance.
Her Shadow Garden uniform consists of a standard slime bodysuit with golden accents decorating around her chest and arms. She wears a sleeved keyhole jacket with a popped collar and gold edge extending behind her back—the décolletage is covered with opaque fabric. The lower half of the bodysuit is strap-up heeled boots that end just above the knees, with a thick golden collar end with a thinner golden line underneath looping around from the lower inner knee to the upper outer thigh, holding a violet gem. The heels of her boots are similar to her work heels, but enclose her feet with gold lines around the ankles and gold rims over her wrists.
Outside of Shadow Garden, Gamma normally wears dark backless dresses whenever she is going about in her public persona of Luna, the president of the Mitsugoshi Company. Her footwear changes depending on the occasion, but she predominantly dons black or white heels.
Background:
Like with the rest of Shadow Garden, Gamma presumably contracted Possession at some point and was promptly cast out by her family and society until Cid stumbled upon her and subsequently healed her, after which she was taken into the organization by Alpha.
Key Relationships
- Shadow Garden
Cid Kagenou / Shadow Gamma deeply admires her lord ever since he discovered and rescued her after she was discarded by society, and being enveloped by Cid's power causes her to tear up immensely. Like Alpha, Gamma has devoted herself and her life to Cid only and his cause. Her reason of making Mitsugoshi and Shadow Garden as strong and as rich as can just to make the organization worthy of her master's standing. She is willing to do everything in power in hope of one day her master will acknowledge her and she literally put her life online to research on his shadow wisdom to make practical products out of it. Gamma views Cid as an intelligent man and was frustrated at herself for not being able to keep up with his warrior prowess, though she was pleased when he praised her business savvy. In response, she learned all he could teach her pertaining to economics and trade, even incomplete anecdotes from his past life which she filled in the blanks to and perfected. It really pains her to see that her master is so close to her yet someone so far from her reach.
Like the others in Shadow Garden, her master's movements are enigmatic to her, and she adapts herself in accordance. Such as commanding Shadow Garden forces during the academy terrorist attack, or disguising Cid into Mundane Mann for the Bushin Festival. When it seemed, Shadow betrayed them during the trade conflict with the Major Corporate Alliance, Gamma was just as heartbroken upon learning the news from Alpha but was relieved upon later discovering that he hadn't and had a secret plan to help them secure funding to survive a financial crisis.
- Seven Shadows
Alpha Gamma serves as Alpha's right hand when it comes to managing Shadow Garden, in the sense of being responsible for the financial and administrative affairs of the organization, as well as the head of its operations in foreign countries. Gamma highly respects her superior and they are able to get along as friends on subjects outside of Shadow Garden. Acts as a second-in-command towards her, often instilling her with confidence or keeping Alpha aware of the bigger picture.
Beta Beta and Gamma are colleagues and friends, both having the lesser aptitudes towards combat and both applying their efforts with administration and intelligence for Shadow Garden. Beta routinely reports to Gamma regarding her roles on missions and information she collected in the field. After Beta returned from Earth, both were weary of Eta and what she may be due to their alien guest. Gamma often endorses Beta's novels through her company causing Beta's alter-ego to amount great fame in a short amount of time.
Delta Both Gamma and Delta did not get along when they were younger, due to Delta picking on Gamma for her lack of combat prowess. However, they eventually got over that and now treat each other like siblings. When Gamma thought Delta had been killed, she was genuinely devastated but overjoyed when Delta returned alive. Delta still tends to bite Gamma every so often, because Gamma is weaker than her but also as a sign of affection. In the spin-off they tend to bicker like sisters over what is better: brawn or brains, often fighting each other to a tie.
Epsilon Gamma is Epsilon's senior in terms of time within Shadow Garden as well as hierarchy. As Gamma is the administrative head of the organization below Alpha, Epsilon must report back to Gamma with any findings and discoveries made during missions. It is unclear if Gamma is aware of Epsilon's envy for her well-endowed sisters. Despite being a prideful elf, Epsilon secretly admires Gamma's absolute confidence, not aware it's a clever facade to hide Gamma's embarrassment at her own clumsiness.
Zeta Eta Like most of Shadow Garden, Gamma disliked Eta's use of them in her experiments, but still trusts her given their shared history. However, she was also annoyed with her fellow Elf for spending much of Shadow Garden's secret funds to carry out her experiments. Lately they have bonded over similar interests and realize that they have more in common than they thought, often asking for insight because of their similar intelligence. Alongside Eta, Gamma is considered the weakest of the Shadows, possibly of all of Shadow Garden.
Personality:
Exuding calm and refinement, Gamma presents a dignified figure to prospective business partners and customers of Mitsugoshi, Ltd. She harbors no qualms about being a shrewd businesswoman who engages in aggressive corporate maneuvers. Gamma continues to leverage Mitsugoshi’s monopolistic position to exploit ignorant consumers and uninformed merchants through predatory lending, market manipulation, and proprietary trading. Her calculating demeanor is not constant; It softens towards her fellow Seven Shadows and reflects their mutual sororal relationship.
Gamma’s guise of grace disappears in the heat of battle or around Cid. Poor balance breaks her otherwise elegant posture and gait—leading to bloody noses. She frequently hides embarrassment by continuation of conversation and a plethora of excuses, but red cheeks betray Gamma’s true feelings. Frustrated by her physical limitations, Gamma struggled to increase her combat prowess after first joining Shadow Garden. Her lack of physical capabilities prompted Cid to call her Gamma the Weak privately. The futility of her efforts soon became apparent and the mounting failures led to suicidal ideations. On the planned day of action, Shadow fortuitously presented a new avenue of purpose—Shadow Wisdom. Enthralled with Shadow’s insight, Gamma threw her established genius at recreating Shadow Wisdom and the management of Shadow Garden.
Gamma continues to struggle with chronic feelings of inadequacy, despite the success of Shadow Garden and Mitsugoshi, Ltd. She perceives that a retainer should anticipate the needs and wishes of their master or be able to interpret them. Cid’s capricious actions frequently fall outside Gamma’s intellectual foresight, reinforcing Gamma’s doubt and despondency. Weak combat prowess notwithstanding, she aspires to one day fight on the front lines, side by side with Shadow.

Appearance
Delta is a young female wolf therianthrope with large canine ears and a fluffy tail. She sports purple eyes with vertical slit pupils that become circular when she is happy. Retaining an athletic yet curvaceous build, Delta's body possesses chiseled muscles and well-defined contours.
In her daily life, she wears a dark suit with long-sleeved clothes around her neck and opens around her stomach, a pair of gloves, shorts combined with stockings, and a pair of shoes. Oftentimes, Delta will wear a variation of this trend with different materials, but always wears something to accentuate her athleticism and form. However, some exceptions occur, such as during the winter she helped Cid dig for Gettan's buried treasure.
When serving in Shadow Garden, she wears the customary slime bodysuit with black and gold decorations, but with the individualized accessories of fur adornments on the collar, wrists, and ankles. Delta's top has the basic dark attire with twin vertical gold lines running up the central third of her torso before joining two violet gems accents. The gems fall in line where another gold lining traverses her upper pectoral outline above her bust, with gold shoulder pads connected to the gems. Her shoulders have a slight bagginess before connecting to two gold rings where her deltoids meet her arms in regular black sleeve, connecting to standard cestus around both of her forearms and black gloves. Her top is wrapped around the diaphragm by a slight belt where the seam splits underneath to reveal her abdomen.
Her lower half is dressed in leggings with lighter black that have straps from both edges of her lower abdomen wrapping around her hips to the back, resembling short shorts. Her upper thighs have a gold ring each where the leggings get darker going further down the limbs, with a gold diamond shape a few centimeters down the center fold on both legs from the gold rings. Down the legs past the fur accents on her ankles, Delta has a pair of gold chevrons pointing up her feet. Delta's tail has a thick gold ring with an inlaid division around the center at the base of her tail and a matching ring towards the end of her tail with an ornament of two bells and a tassel ribbon at the end.
Background: Delta was once a Wolf therianthrope girl named Sarah who was recognized to be the strongest daughter of the chieftain of her tribe. Because her father had about twenty concubines, she had over a hundred half siblings. If she wasn't born a girl, her father would have given her the position of the next chieftain. Upon learning that she had Possession, Sara's father attempted to kill her, but she successfully hid and escaped. When her body reached its limit, feeling powerless by the Possession, Sara was found by Alpha and Shadow, she immediately attacked Alpha, even in her weakened state, without even hearing her. But when Sara saw Shadow, she instinctively submitted when she realized how powerful and dangerous he was. Shadow offered to heal her and give her a home, to which Sara readily accepted seeing Shadow and Alpha as her new pack leaders, and Shadow named her Delta soon after.
Key Relationships
- Shadow Garden
Cid Kagenou / Shadow Meeting Cid for the first time, Sara became overwhelmed by his power and immediately submitted to him. Since then, Delta has become a loyal subordinate, calling him Boss and following Cid's orders without question. Delta repeatedly voices genuine joy and elation whenever they meet or spend time together. Outside of articulating these feelings, she expresses affection through physical contact, frequently hugging and rubbing against Cid.
She always enjoyed hunting but finds it even more enjoyable when Cid joins her; although, her definition of "hunting" can vary from seeking animals for food, to exterminating bandits - with the hunt itself being more the point to her, than acquiring the prey.
Due to her therianthrope culture of propagating the strong, Delta wishes to provide Cid with "100 strong," while also having him copulate with other mighty women - presumably the Seven Shadows and others in Shadow Garden - to produce even more powerful offspring. While she seems happy to share him, she is still strongly infatuated with him in her own Delta way, thus despite sharing, desires to receive the most attention out of his mates.
- Seven Shadows
Alpha Delta loyally serves Alpha and easily gets frightened by her apparent anger; even if Delta falls into a feral mode, if Alpha reiterates her sternness, Delta obediently falls back in line. She often worries about upsetting Alpha whenever a report becomes delayed through forgetfulness or procrastination. This loyalty stems from when Delta tried challenging Alpha for the role of Shadow Garden's second-in-command. The physical confrontation did not switch their positions in the organization. Despite her submissive obedience, the two maintain a sororal relationship—reflective of the other Seven Shadows.
Beta While Delta's views on Beta are mostly unknown, Beta admits that Delta is like a "little sister" to her, implying that they have a good relationship. Delta see's Beta as the devious one of the Seven Shadows, stemming from their childhood when Beta would trick her into rigged games of chance to get more of Delta's food.
Gamma In their youth, Delta always quarreled with Gamma due to the latter's lack of combat abilities, something that frustrated her. However, the two seemed to get along fine now that they are older. However, they tend to get into comedic arguments on why brawn or brains is better for Shadow Garden. When Gamma showed Alpha a piece of tail fur from Delta, she is seen trying to hold back tears and is more than relieved to know Delta is alive and well, with Delta confused why Gamma has suddenly become clingier towards her.
Epsilon Delta is on good terms with Epsilon. However, she has, on multiple occasions, come close to uncovering the latter's secret, that she uses her slime bodysuit as breast padding, since she always smells of slime. In response, Epsilon often gives Delta snacks to distract her.
Zeta Delta and Zeta constantly bicker and antagonize each other. They use insulting nicknames such as "Stupid Bitch" and "Bitch Cat". If the argument goes beyond words, it digresses into physical altercations. Alpha typically stops these fights, but they quickly become bloody in her absence. A winner to these brawls remains elusive, as Zeta disengages before a victor can be named.
Eta In the anime, Delta and Eta have a rather troubling relationship, with the former being visibly afraid of the latter whenever she accidentally breaks one of her inventions. Eta also has no qualms about using Delta as a guinea pig in her experiments.
Personality: Hunting for Delta surpasses a mere way to get food; it is inseparable from her identity. Ever since she was three, she concluded that hunting was the reason for her existence. It revealed to her that one can sustain oneself through strength. The only things that retain value are obtained by oneself. Her therianthrope background and hunting connection feed into her life philosophy of might makes right—the strong dictate direction and morality and those who are weaker follow. Consequently, Delta only acknowledges and answers to strength, holding the weak in contempt. Wanting to overcome the stigma of her mother's tragic death from sickness, this ideology remains constant and pertains even to family members.
Delta’s might logic—musclehead—and reliance on strength-based solutions leave fellow Shadow Garden members exasperated. For those who Delta acknowledges or accepts as family, she presents a docile nature. She displays a childish innocence that manifests through a playful demeanor and naïve interpretation of the world. Delta’s juvenile perceptions likewise make her easily excitable and impulsive. These impulsive tendencies are near-uncontrollable. Even if she temporarily suppresses urges, they will manifest later through more damaging actions.
Conversely, her enemies receive the full brunt of her feral temperament, revealing a brutal and merciless character.

Occupation: 5th Seat of the Seven Shadows
Pianist & Composer
- Origin: The Eminence In Shadow
Appearance
Epsilon is a young Elf with sharp facial features who displays a “striking” body. To hide her usual petite proportions, she uses a slime suit to appear far more curvaceous, greatly amplifying her buttocks and breasts. She has long azure hair tied into pigtails with light blue eyes (purple in illustrations).
As a member of the Shadow Garden, she uses a dark-colored slime bodysuit with a distinctive pattern adorned on the chest. There is a gold decoration on the arms and shoulders as well as purple gem accessories on the arms, shoulders, and abdomen. Included in the outfit is a long purple scarf with gold accessories and purple gems at the edges. Sometimes, she wears a mask to hide her identity.
Background: Epsilon was the daughter of an elven noble family. She was praised by many for her beauty, intellect, and her martial arts skills. Then, her life took a dramatic turn when she was discovered to have Possession Epsilon's family and her closest friends disowned her and she was forced to run away from being hunted by the people she once trusted.
She crawled her way up a mountain trail but the Possession started to take effect on her body. Suddenly, she was rescued from death by Cid. Since then, she swore loyalty to him.
When she met the other members of Shadow Garden, Epsilon was dismayed at how lacking she was compared to her more skilled superiors such as Delta, Gamma, and Beta. Despite this, she moves forward out of love for her master and later decided to improve her appearance which would be appealing to him. During that time, she learned about the slime bodysuit and realized the potential that would allow her to reach her goal. By experimenting with it, she can significantly develop her magic skills, earning Alpha's praise. She is called the "Precision" for her magic control.
Key Relationships
- Shadow Garden
Cid Kagenou / Shadow Having been rescued by the boy when she was a child, Epsilon became extremely devoted to him. Realizing that her skills were severely lacking compared to her fellow Seven Shades, Epsilon decided to become the perfect woman for Cid. Due to her insecurity with her body, she would utilize her slime magic taught by Cid and later alter the appearance of her body. As such, she would often present herself as a voluptuous figure to attract her oblivious master attention.
When the two reunited, he was already aware of her fake slime body and gave a side glance. Epsilon misunderstood and exaggerated that he said that "She had a nice figure" to other members such as Delta and Nu. She was delightfully laughing when Beta became enraged of the report given by Nu. This interaction occurred in the spinoff "Kage-Jitsu".
Epsilon believes her master's Shadow persona is the real personality and his actual one is a façade especially when he likes to play with the Shadow Garden members to relieve them of their worries. Having to constantly maintain her slime body resulted in her incorporating it into her body which impressed her master. However, she misunderstood that her body attracted him when in actuality he was fixated on the slime on her body.
- Seven Shadows
Alpha Epsilon deeply respects Alpha, following her orders without question. When they were younger, Epsilon was surprised and touched that Alpha entrusted her with curing a possessed despite it being her first time. However, the prideful elf has admitted to being outmaneuvered by her in terms of leadership and was envious of it. This did not stop her as she used it as motivation in becoming the "perfect woman" for her master.
Beta
Fellow Seven Shade members, the two were able to utilize skills taught by Cid and make names for themselves through their true relationship has not come to public light. Personally, Epsilon sees Beta as her rival for their master's affection and especially resents her naturally voluptuous figure. Beta however is oblivious to Epsilon's resentment toward her. Regardless, the two are still able to put aside their rivalry for Shadow Garden's cause.
In her and Cid's flashbacks in the Anime to when they were younger, the two elves cameoed in each other when Beta's breasts came to mind when Cid taught her about slime magic and how to utilize it when he told her to change her fate and take hold of the truth.
In Cid's flashback, Epsilon humorously cameoed as she enviously watched the silvered-haired elven through the windows when he taught her about stories and literature from his past life.
Gamma Epsilon seems to have a working relationship with Gamma. In the spinoff "Kage-Jitsu", the entrepreneur inadvertently scared her when she was discussing about economics and how inflation works. The prideful elf couldn't keep up and heard the parts "Something that isn't worth much" and "Burst" causing her to panic, and pride be damaged.
Delta Fellow Seven Shade member and one of the only two Therianthrope, Epsilon gets along well enough with Delta. However, the latter has on several occasions came close to discover that she pads her chest since she always reeks of slime. In response, Epsilon has taken to offer her snacks as a distraction.
Zeta Fellow Seven Shade member and one of the two Therianthrope. The two alongside other members of the Seven Shades worked together in taking down Viscount Grease and save Claire from captivity. Epsilon is unaware of Zeta's own sub-faction within Shadow Garden that is loyal solely to her, effectively going behind her and the other Shades' backs.
Eta Fellow Seven Shade member and the only inactive one, in the anime, Epsilon seems to have a working relationship with Eta. In the spinoff "Kage-Jitsu," the somewhat mad scientist came close to exposing her fake slime body when she tried to force her to reveal what she was hiding, using a robot.
Personality: Epsilon's self-aggrandizement, haughty voice, and a penchant for misunderstandings lead many to call her intense or arrogant. Whether in combat or social situations, she will seize an advantage—major or minor, physical or psychological. Although her unyielding and stubborn approach may appear callous, she deeply cares for her allies and friends. If not for Epsilon's immense pride overwhelming other traits, her docile and compassionate nature would define her personality. Even through her pride, she acknowledges and takes full responsibility for her mistakes.
Pride does require something as its subject and her old noble life supplied plenty of achievements to fuel her confidence. Becoming a member of Shadow Garden forced her to recontextualize the notion of excellence. She wanted to claim a pillar of superiority, but marital perfection and genius are abundant at Shadow Garden. Desperate to retain the pride and independence that defines her, Epsilon decided that beauty was the only feasible option. However, her driving force for personal beauty does not come from narcissism. Epsilon desires to return the selflessness and generosity shown to her by Cid. She strives to make herself a titillating companion open to a physical relationship, believing that bodily magic engineering is the only option to appeal to Cid and overcome feelings of inferiority.

Name: Zeta

Gender: Female

Age: 17
-
Occupation: 6th Seat of the Seven Shadows
Head of Reconnaissance and Espionage Division
- Origin: The Eminence In Shadow
Appearance
Zeta is a female Therianthrope from the Golden Leopard Clan, having blonde hair, large cat ears, purple eyes, and a long tail. Many describe her as "beautiful", with special attention to her golden tail and ears. Like Alpha and her ancestor, Olivier, Zeta bears a striking resemblance to her ancestor, Lily.
She wears a customary Slime Bodysuit with a large cape settled over her left shoulder in the light novel. A stylized jacket embraces her arms and upper torso and opens under the sternum, where a generous decolletage exposes significant skin. Her jacket has a short frontal length that ends around her ribs section while the back continues to the length of her calves, with puffy fur accents at the collar and waistline and a section of exposed skin along the hips stretching into the back region. She also has an asymmetrical legging, with two solid gold rings circling her right femur while having three parallel belts circling her left femur. In the light novel, her suit has frilled pant cuffs just before her heels. In the anime and game, her leggings don't have frills, but rather boots with a V collar and cuffed endings above the short-heeled shoes with a simple gold lining over the metatarsal.
Background: Zeta was originally known by the name of Lilim and had a loving family with her father, mother, and little brother. She was the daughter of the leader of the Golden Panther tribe, which is most prestigious tribes even among Therianthrope. The tribe was located far away from the Midgar Kingdom. She is also the direct descendant of the "Therianthrope Hero" Lili, who defeated the demon Diablos, which makes her bloodline and family exceptionally well esteemed, even among the Golden Leopard Tribes. Many settlements followed the Golden Leopard Tribe, and she was the eldest daughter of the chieftain who had ruled the tribe for time immemorial.
Apparently, her father had been covertly investigating the Possession since he feared that Lilim contracted it, having speculated and becoming suspicious of the beliefs of the Church. Since she was little, Lilim had great intelligence and a taste for reading freely, having spent all her time investing in her focused subject. At the same time, being the chief's daughter, she was allowed freedom from marital commitments with other Therianthrope tribes.
When Lilim turned twelve years old, she began showing symptoms of the Curse until they became visible and unbearable. When she told her parents, her father chose to hide the disease instead of killing her, and both would undertake a trip to the Midgar kingdom in search of a cure, according to an elf that she read about in a book. If he confirmed a cure, he would return to take Lilim as her father believed that there was someone in Midgar capable of curing the curse she had. Lilim did not believe it at all in the beginning and she was ready to be killed before her curse worsened, but she tearfully chose to trust her father and wait a month for him to return.
A month later, Lilim is still locked up in her house while she waited for her father, but those of her tribe found out through a priest of the church, really a member of the cult, that their boss had a possessed daughter of hers locked up in her house. They tied him up and killed him, but before her father tried to tell the "truth" of the Three Heroes and demon Diablos story, no one believed him, so her father ordered his wife bring Lilim and her brother to take care of themselves and to reach the kingdom of Midgar since there was "someone" there he believed could cure her of her Curse. Lilim fled in tears from her native tribe together with her mother, before being apprehended with her brother when she saw her father engaged against the priest and the branch family leader.
During her journey to the kingdom of Midgar, Lilim separated from her mother, who entrusted her with the care of her little brother. Regarding her curse, she was found by the village priest before her who showed her the severed head of her parents. When the priest introduces himself as Petos, after Lilim finally decided to confess that she is possessed in an attempt to save her little brother, but in the end, Petos ends up killing him in front of her and tells her that his job will turn him into Rounds before showing her all the severed heads of the Golden Panther tribe, including the head of the branch family. Lilim is enraged and strikes Petos, but he makes her unconscious also ordering his men to arrest the girl and take her to the laboratory of Valliora, while he made the preparations to be part of the faction.
When Lilim woke up, she was furious that her entire family and tribe were killed, and she loudly pleads for someone to save her and give her power. Fittingly, she was rescued by Shadow under the company of Alpha who was a little behind him, Shadow gave Lilim his power and cured her curse, while he finished off her captors. Lilim realized that everything her parents said was true, to which Shadow is surprised (since he didn't expect the invention to spread without knowing it was true) and tells him that the priest and the people who capture her were not from the Holy Church. Those men were actually from the Cult of Diablos and they hid the truth about the Three Heroes and the story of the demon curse in the darkness of history because they wanted to bury the truth about the hero lineage that was an obstacle to them by naming the demonic curse as a Possession, also tells Lilim that they tried to revive the demon Diablos and that they need the blood of the possessed, that is, of the girls descended from the Three Heroes. Lilim then joined Shadow Garden and under Alpha's explanations, she was given the new name that is Zeta, becoming the sixth member of the "Seven Shadows" under her master, Shadow.
Key Relationships
- Shadow Garden
Cid Kagenou / Shadow After Cid cured her from her demonic possession, Zeta saw him as the living proof that her father and she were right about there being someone who can cure demonic possession, and she swore absolute loyalty to him. Like the rest of Shadow Garden, Zeta cherishes Cid and always seizes the chance to spend as much time as possible with him. She enjoys marking Cid's belongings with her scent and snuggling beside him. Although Zeta speaks very little and tries to suppress all unnecessary emotions, like the deep-seated hatred within her heart, so it doesn't hinder her from achieving her objectives. Zeta's original true self often comes to the surface when she is with Cid, as she would be acting happy, wagging her tail, and humming afterwards from her good mood whenever she remembers the time she had spent with Cid. After losing her family and tribe, everything she had known overnight, she got attached to Cid upon his saving her. This trauma and rescue led Zeta to believe that her family and entire clan had sacrificed themselves so that she could fulfill her true purpose of meeting and serving her master.
Zeta's pious devotion to Cid has reached a level of extreme fanaticism. She believes that gaining immortality is Cid's true goal, but his kindness is what is stopping him. To satisfy this mission, Zeta is determined to make Cid immortal, even at the cost of her own life. Her aims to resurrect the demon Diablos to grant Cid's immortality. In doing so, Cid would become the god of the new world; ensuring that he would be the eternal ruler to prevent the rise of another wicked group like the Cult of Diablos into power-- ironically unaware that she would supplant them with Shadow in that position.
Alpha Zeta disapproves of Alpha's lenient goal of wanting to separate the Cult from the existing religion, believing that Alpha's kindness would impede their goal of defeating the Cult of Diablos. Zeta also believes that it is due to Alpha's more mellow approach to handling things, as well as Cid's kindness and over-reliance on Alpha; like how she handles the things Cid stopped pursuing for his 'original goal' of immortality, seeing the result as potentially catastrophic. For this reason, she mostly does her own thing without regularly reporting to the latter, much to Alpha's annoyance. She is even willing to go behind her back by creating her splinter faction within Shadow Garden loyal solely to her.
Despite all of this, Zeta is aware of Alpha's immense power and thus does not even try to challenge her directly, like Delta once did. Zeta feigns obedience while secretly pursuing her own goals, yet will still has no problem with Alpha, and they usually get along well.
Delta Delta and Zeta do not get along well and constantly bicker with each other, mostly stemming from their Therianthrope instincts, as Zeta is a cat while Delta is a Wolf. They refer to each other with names like "Back Ally Cat" and "Dumb Doggie" respectively, but will forego their animosities if commanded by Cid or Alpha.
Personality: Despite being a Therianthrope, who are mostly known for being wild brutes, Zeta is smart and level-headed. She has also shown to be a loner, usually doing her missions on her own and only cooperating on a team if the situation demands it. Self-sacrificing to a fault, she attempts to shoulder all responsibility or consequences from those she admires.
Zeta can also be seen having a confrontational side when speaking to Delta. She purposefully seeks conflict and antagonizes the dog therianthrope, regularly implying that Delta possesses stupid and barbaric tendencies due to her heritage.

Name: Eta
-
Gender: Female
-
Age: 17
-
Occupation: 7th Seat of the Seven Shadows
Shadow Garden's Head Research Division
Head of Mitsugoshi Research and Development
- Origin: The Eminence In Shadow
Appearance
Eta is a female elf with long puce hair and unkempt bangs above bleary, purple eyes. She frequently presents a bedraggled appearance, a consequence of her slothful activities. A faded, traditional white lab coat over slime clothes stylized in a pleated dress pattern with a black wispy represents Eta's usual outfit for work and sleep.
Outside her work clothes, Eta styles the customary slime bodysuit like a double-slitted keyhole dress, hemmed at the upper thighs and dressed over a lighter bodysuit. The oversized sleeves and long endings tapering to ragged edges make the accompanying loose-fitting jacket look like a cloak. Various frills and minor decorations adorn the jacket. A loose belt dangles off the back of her coat, offering a tail-like appearance.
Eta has a garter on each leg for dark stockings and two decorative belts around her thighs. The position changes based on the adaption—left in the light novel and right in the anime. Simplified black trousers, rather than stockings, cover her legs in the anime. They have riveted fins along the back, from the knee, down the back of her calf, ending at the ankle. Eta's footwear in the light novel are pumps while she wears wedges in the anime. A strip of gold trim around the vamp of the shoes are present in both adaptations.
Background: After her master's elder sister, Claire Kagenou was abducted by Viscount Grease from the Cult of Diablos, Eta participated in the assault on the secret base where Claire was being held, along with her lord and the rest of the Seven Shadows. They managed to rescue Claire after they eliminated all Cult members and the leader of the branch base. Afterward, Eta would join her sisters in leaving Shadow for a duration to expand their influence to keep apace with the Cult's power.
Key Relationships
- Shadow Garden
Cid Kagenou / Shadow Eta recognizes that her research will always be trivial compared to Shadow, but she seeks further knowledge. She venerates Shadow's presumed wisdom and profoundly believes that Shadow's mind is the ultimate resource. Eta knows Shadow wants her to continue research; however, it almost feels like he keeps avoiding her. Their infrequent discussions do not satisfy her, and she continues to escalate attempts to pick his brain, figuratively and literally.
Already eschewing typical moral constraints, she endeavored to dissect Shadow's brain but found it impossible. It is difficult to attack someone who never puts their guard down, even while asleep. Spiking his coffee with drugs strong enough to kill dragons likewise proved ineffective. Eta physically suspended operations at present but mentally continues possibilities. Despite her analytic and callous mind, Eta acknowledges Shadow's kindness.
- Seven Shadows
Alpha Eta finds Alpha's research interference vexing and openly jeers her dissatisfaction. Always under threat of budgetary decreases, Eta stopped some of her more questionable experiments under Alpha's order. It is not a perfect deterrent as she always tries to sneak a few by her.
Beta A fellow member of the "Seven Shadows". Beta has shown respect for Eta's intelligence, yet also somewhat fears her due to Eta's seeming lack of morals. During the Hot Springs Land grand opening, Eta was initiated to use Beta as a test subject regarding the surge of magical energy under the location and voiced fatigued annoyance for the elven novelist. This included her opinion on Beta being an airhead with her nourishment only going to her chest, as well as other ego hurting commentary, similar to Lambda's drill sergeant method of breaking self-esteem. However, this could have been partly Eta's views on Beta, as noted by Zeta.
Gamma A fellow member of the "Seven Shadows". While Eta's views on Gamma are unknown, the latter dislikes how much of Shadow Garden's finances the former wastes on her experiments. But this is adequately compensated with the technologies she develops, both for Shadow Garden and Mitsugoshi.
Delta A fellow member of the "Seven Shadows". In the anime, Eta and Delta have a somewhat troubling relationship, as the latter often has trouble understanding the former's scientific remarks due to her low intelligence. In turn, Eta has shown to become uncharacteristically angry whenever Delta accidentally breaks one of her inventions.
Epsilon A fellow member of the "Seven Shadows". In the anime, Eta and Epsilon maintain a cordial relationship. However, Eta has been shown to get angered whenever she feels like Epsilon is mocking her inventions.
Zeta Eta knows about Zeta's dissent and the actions of her faction. Although she supplied some resources for Zeta's operations, she does not view herself as an accomplice for one side or the other. Eta remains unconcerned about the internal politics of Shadow Garden. As long as her research is not affected, their direction or the leader is incidental.
Personality: A quiet presence, Eta derives pleasure through indolent activities. She demonstrates lethargy and apathy, slowly conversing with others and moving sluggishly. Eta's raison d'être is the pursuit and development of Shadow Wisdom. Her manic devotion has helped the advancement of Shadow Garden, but it frequently manifests through petty defiance or unauthorized experimentation. Such antics can disrupt administrative efficiency or harm the physical well-being of others. Threats of reduced budgetary allocations modulate Eta's ethically dubious experiments and rebellious behavior; however, occasional quarrels still occur. The reasons for disobedience are presented as differences in ethics and methodology rather than administrative directives or malice towards her fellow sisters.
