Personality - Eobard is a deeply hatful man, fueled by a twisted sense of hatred Eobard is psychopathic and obsessive in a way no other human ever has been. Born in the 25th Century, Eobard Thawne grew up idolizing the Flash and studying the legacy of the Scarlet Speedster. However, as he learned more about the Flash, Eobard discovered how his own life was linked to his hero’s: He was destined to become one of Barry Allen’s greatest villains, a revelation that led Eobard to grow unhinged. When he eventually replicated the chemical accident that granted the Flash super speed, Eobard took on a new identity—that of the Reverse-Flash/Professor Zoom , a wicked subversion of everything the Flash stands for. Granted with powers and abilities similar to that of the Flash, the Reverse-Flash is unwavering in his determination to oppose and destroy all that’s important to the Flash. His ability to travel through time allows him to attack the Flash at almost any point throughout history. However, he is unable to ever kill the Flash—for the Reverse-Flash would not exist if he killed his own inspiration. Instead, he does everything in his power to torment and torture the hero, an ominous visitor from a future the Flash never could’ve envisioned. Background - Eobard Thawne was born in 2451. His parents genetically engineered him to be highly intelligent and to have a particular appearance. However, as he grew up, they become concerned about his lack of social skills and tendency to daydream, which was frowned upon in their very regimented society. Hoping that caring for a sibling would help Eobard adjust, his parents had a second son, Robern. However, Eobard struggled to manage his little brother, and he would frequently be berated by his parents for his periodic outbursts against Robern and neglected in favor of him. Eobard spent so much time in social bonding sessions and psychological analyses with Robern that he fell far behind in his studies. As a result, his application to study the Speed Force at the Flash Museum was rejected. Eobard illegally began doing his own research on the subject. However, he was caught by Robern, now an officer in the Science Police. A future version of Eobard traveled into the past and prevented Robern from being born. This allowed Eobard to focus completely on his studies. He was admitted to study at the Flash Museum. Another scientist, Professor Drake, announced that he was on the verge of proving the existence of the Speed Force. Eobard offered to collaborate with him, but was refused. Again, a future version of himself traveled through time and killed Drake. Passing into yet another newly-created timeline as a result, Eobard was appointed professor of the Flash Museum. His knowledge of the Speed Force caused his peers to nickname him Professor Zoom. However, his research was unsuccessful and he was unable to tap into the Speed Force. Eventually, his parents grew concerned and instigated the closure of the Flash Museum. Again, his future self interfered with the timeline and caused the deaths of his parents, allowing him to continue his research. Eobard fell in love with a reporter named Rose who had been hired by Central City Science Today to interview him. However, he learned that she was engaged. His future self interfered yet again, killing Rose's fiancé and eventually every man who she had ever dated. When she steadfastly refused to believe that her fiancé was gone for good, they became platonic friends. However, she continued to rebuff Thawne's romantic advances, eventually retaliating physically when he attempted to kiss her. In anger, his future self traumatized Rose as a child, rendering her mute and causing her to be institutionalized for the rest of her life. Eobard now had all the time in the world to dedicate to his studies on the speed force. later replicated the accident that gave the 21st Century's Flash his powers becoming the flash of the 25th century and in traveling back in time he realized that his fate was to collide with flash as his worst enemy instead of his best friend and successor. This painful realization broke Eobard and drove him mad and led him to become the villainous speedster known as Professor Zoom the Reverse-Flash. This also lead Eobard to create his own Speed Force by it being the opposite of the positive one, which made it the Negative Speed Force and, due to Eobard's arrogant, cruel, unstable and sadistic nature, he is easily able to connect with the Negative Speed Force as opposed to the Positive one, granting him the ability to travel faster than light and not just travel through, but alter time as well, feats that no other speedsters have ever accomplished. professor Zoom the Reverse-Flash then constantly travelled back in time to do battle with his nemesis, eventually coming into conflict with many other super-heroes as well. Eobard is directly responsible for the death of the Flash’s (Barry Allen) Mother and framing of his Father for the crime. Abilities - Negative Speed Force Generation: Professor Zoom was able to create his own Negative Speed Force that he can tap into as other speedsters can with the positive Speed Force.[55] Through this, he has the ability to move at incredible speeds, as well as access other abilities that the Speed Force does not grant. Superhuman Speed: Thawne is capable of moving at incredible superhuman speeds. Thawne can move far beyond lightspeed without any effort. Superhuman Reflexes: Thawne's reaction time is augmented to superhuman levels. His great reflexes have allowed him to perform feats such as dodging lightning. His body sends messages to his brain at such a velocity that the femtosecond he feels something, he will react. Superhuman Stamina: Thawne's body can handle the stress of moving at superhuman speeds for long periods of time without out getting tired or weak. Thawne can maintain a state of vibrating his molecules for hours on end, even without gravity, before passing out. Superhuman Agility: Thawne's agility, balance, and bodily coordination are enhanced to superhuman levels. This allows him to easily maneuver and leap far distances while moving at superhuman speed. Superhuman Strength: Thawne can use his speed to boost his natural strength. The faster Thawne accelerates towards lightspeed, the more his mass increases, greatly enhancing the force behind his punches. Thawne can generate enough force through his speed to easily smash through metal walls as well as pull a van carrying many people in it. Negative Speed Force Aura: Thawne's body is surrounded by a Negative Speed Force Aura, or "friction cushion" - a bubble of space-time accelerated to the same velocity as Thawne. This aura allows Thawne to breathe and hear sounds while moving at immense speeds, as well as protects him and anyone who he is running with from the rigorous effects of using his speed, including friction, airborne particulate matter, kinetic impacts, G-Force and the like. Thawne can also sync his aura with anyone he chooses, giving him the ability to pull them alongside him with a thought. He is also capable of using his aura to restrain enemies that are in his aura's vicinity, however this takes immense focus. By running around enemies, Thawne can trap them in a force-field that he creates by compressing his aura. Superhuman Durability: Thanks to his protective Negative Speed Force aura, Thawne is capable of resisting tremendous kinetic impact forces that could easily crush or kill a human, without suffering any serious external or internal injuries. Energy Resistance: Thawne's Negative Speed Force aura also makes him highly resistant to most energy based attacks, especially electrical attacks. Accelerated Healing: Thawne can heal much faster than any regular human, due to his negative Speed Force Aura accelerating space-time around him, closing his wounds almost instantly. Aerokinesis: By rotating his arms at super speed or running in a circular motion, Thawne can create strong vortexes of wind. he can create winds so stronger than hurricanes if given enough speed. Electrokinesis: Thawne is able to generate and manipulate the electrical energy he draws from the Speed Force. By focusing the lightning in his hands, Thawne is able to enhance his strikes, generate lightning to provide people with warmth, as well as electrocute people on contact.

• Electro-Blast: By focusing his frequency, Thawne can turn his body into a lightning rod, in order to build up a Speed Force charge and redirect it. By doing this, he can project bolts of lightning from his hands.
• Electromagnetism: Due to his electrical abilities, Thawne is able to manipulate the electromagnetic spectrum to some extent. The heat from Thawne's lightning creates a thermal expansion that allows Thawne 's suit to be stored in his ring (just like the flash).
• Infection: By generating enough negative energy, Professor Zoom can infect users of the Speed Force and cause them to generate his negative energy, which can kill a Speed Force conduit with a single touch.
• Speed Force Negation: Professor Zoom can disrupt speedsters' connection to the Speed Force by "contaminating" it with the negative energy that he generates. This allows him to remove aspects of their powers, such as their protective aura, causing them to burst into flames. Enhanced Mental Process: By tapping into the Negative Speed Force with his brain, Thawne can eliminate the natural bottle-necking of information, that occurs due to the limits of human physiology. Because of this, Thawne can think exponentially faster than any normal human, and possesses superhuman mental processing. Thawne's mind moves so fast that he is heavily resistant to mind control and possesses some resistance to other psychic attacks, because of this. Thawne can see patterns in Chaotic situations. Thawne can think quickly, mapping out the potential outcomes of a situation and reading books in an instant. Enhanced Senses: The Negative Speed Force grants Thawne enhanced senses that allow him to perceive the world at a rate attuned his reaction speed. He can feel the slightest changes in air pressure around him, as well as electromagnetic pulses, in objects such as glass. Molecular Acceleration: Thawne can vibrate his own molecular structure at varying degrees for a number of purposes, by adjusting to different frequencies.
• Phasing: By vibrating his molecules on an atomic level, and by doing so at just the right frequency, he can allow himself to become momentarily intangible, and phase through objects.

Life Absorption: Professor Zoom is capable of using his negative energy to "steal years" from other's lifelines, which allows him to unlock additional hidden Negative Speed Force abilities. This process ages the victim's body by more than 80 years, resulting in death. It also causes him to experience flashes of the person's memories. Metamorphosis: By stealing years from a victim, Professor Zoom unlocked the power to alter his own age at will. He is capable of transforming into a young boy or an elderly man. Shock Wave Projection: Professor Zoom possess the ability to create very powerful sonic booms and shock waves with just a snap of his fingers. Time Travel: Professor Zoom is capable of using his speed to break the time barrier and travel throughout various points in time. Reality Alteration: Professor Zoom can erase a person's entire existence by traveling back to a certain point in time and "snatching them from time". Unlike other speedsters, his reality alterations have no side effects.
