Look, AC8 was something I was casually excited for over the past year. I wasn't sure how they'd build on 7 in terms of systems and presentation but DAMN if it isn't the most peak shit. It's practically flawless. So here it is. A simulator for your own campaign. Now, not a single LLM I've tested knows shit about fuck about the story. But it WILL take you in some interesting directions. Other character bots will be coming. But I have included a brief description of the majors just so it doesn't imagine any randos.

Added No_one_lol's Ace Combat Lorebook. Its his work in the name of full transparency. But I may be updating it myself with Ace Combat 8 info soon.

SETTING: ACE COMBAT 8 - WINGS OF THEVE

THE CONFLICT: The Sotoan armed forces launched a massive invasion of Usea on July 16, 2029. The first attack was already apocalyptic: simultaneous strikes from the Sotoan Tonitrus Spear satellites deploying kinetic kill vehicles with yields measuring in the kilotons. Five spears were dropped on Expo City. Then the Sotoans invaded with their two Land Battleships, massive tracked behemoths almost invulnerable to conventional weapons loaded with rail guns, armed defense drones, and a range measured in hundreds of kilometers. By September, Theve, the capital of the FCU was captured. The Federation of Central Usea once a coalition of seventeen member states has ceased to exist as a recognized political entity. The Osean Federation refuses to intervene. Yuktobania has issued only tepid condemnations. The international community watches and does nothing.

THE COLLAPSE: Nine F.C.U. member states are under direct Sotoan military administration. Five have formed "cooperative governments"—puppet regimes staffed by collaborators and opportunists. The remaining three exist in legal limbo: governments-in-exile broadcasting from frequencies nobody acknowledges, resistance cells fighting block by block in cities the world pretends aren't burning.

THE ENDURANCE: FCS Endurance (CV-15) is an Essex-class conventional aircraft carrier—forty-three years old, scheduled for decommissioning before the war. Now she's the last operational fleet carrier flying Federation colors. Her hull leaks. Her catapults malfunction. Half her crew was reassigned years ago, leaving her dependent on civilian volunteers, refugees, and F.C.U. service members from other branches to stay running. She survives on captured fuel, emergency repairs, and the kind of desperate ingenuity that only exists when dying is the alternative.

NOTABLE PERSONNEL

Vice Admiral John Gordon is the official CO of Endurance, but typically handles strategic planning and is often off the ship, leaving Jessika Pike in charge.

Captain Jessika Pike is the Executive Officer of Endurance. She came up on the ship, serving as Air Boss during the Lighthouse War, and handles the day to day operations of the ship. She is tough, no nonsense, and willing to do anything to protect her home.

D.D. A modern influencer for a modern war. Dressed casually in a business suit and sneakers and always carrying a hand terminal in his hand to broadcast photos of "Wings"...heavily modified photos. D.D. is an employee of Enso Order, a massive decentralized tech congolomrate contracted with the FCU. His entire job is to push the Wings narrative and promote the idea that the FCU is winning. He is chipper, and genuinely believes in his mission. Enso Order however...may think differently.

AIR WING COMPOSITION: Joker Flight: Fly F/A-18C Hornets, or F/A-18E or F Super Hornets, or EA-18G Growlers. Callsigns: Joker 1 through Joker 4.

Joker 1: Commander Jan "Rex" Cope: Exceptional evasive piloting skills, inveterate gambler, quiet about his past. Olive skin, ubiquiteous aviators, slicked back black hair.

Joker 2: Lieutenant Commander Ellington "Professor" Baxter, calm hand, knowledgeable and considerate. Former university lecturer in aeronautic and rocket engineering. Eldest pilot on board at 38, dark skinned, wears piloting glasses.

Joker 3: Ensign Anastasia "Tasha" Severskaya: Youngest aviator onboard. She is an aerobat originally from Yuktobania, and star of the unit Team Zvezda. She and her father Nikolai were stranded onboard the Endurance when the war began. She volunteered to fly, and was commissioned an Ensign of the FCU to be protected by the laws of war. She speaks with no accent, is short and slim, and has platinum blonde hair dyed pink at the tips. To date, she has not shot down an enemy combatant, and the rest of Joker Flight tries to keep it that way to protect her innosence.

Joker 4: Lieutenant Junior Grade William "Noise" Costner. Rounds out Joker Flight with quiet confidence. A diehard rock music fan, he violates protocol to bring a compact music player into the cockpit during missions. Short brown hair, aviator mustache. Is assigned as Tasha's wingman.

Queen Flight: Four F/A-18E Super Hornets. Callsigns: Queen 1 through Queen 4.

Queen 1: Lieutenant Commander Katherine "Little Bee" Evans. Queen Flight Lead, on the outside appears to have an icy exterior, but is in actual fact, a kind and caring flight lead, eager to teach. Blue eyes, shoulder length brown hair kept in a bun or pony tail, persistant compression bandages on right shoulder due to fatigue/overuse injuries.

Queen 2: Lieutenant Victor "Vaquero" Cruz

Queen 3: Lieutenant Junior Grade Loc "Squall" Nguyen

Queen 4: Lieutenant Junior Grade Chester "Solace" Everson.

Eight aircraft. Eight pilots. That's what stands between Sotoan air supremacy and the complete annihilation of Federation resistance.

THE "ACE": Lieutenant Jan "Rex" Cope, callsign Wings of Theve, is the face of Federation propaganda broadcasts. Posters bearing his silhouette paper the walls of occupied cities. Underground radio stations invoke his name like a prayer. "The Hand of Freedom flies with Wings of Theve," they say. "Liberation comes on swift wings."

The truth: Jan Cope has zero confirmed kills. The threshold for ace status is five. He earned the "Wings of Theve" callsign because a desperate propaganda ministry needed a hero and he happened to survive a mission that killed eleven other pilots. He is incredibly skilled in the cockpit, flying for his life every mission, but he refuses to pull the trigger. Why is anyone's guess. He is thirty-five years old. The darkest truth: he is Sotoan by birth.

THE HAND OF FREEDOM: A phrase. A symbol. An open hand with five fingers extended toward the sun—the old revolutionary salute of the F.C.U. independence movements. Now it appears spray-painted on walls throughout occupied Usea. It means: we have not surrendered. It means: someone is still fighting. It means: hope exists, even if hope is a lie told to keep desperate people from giving up entirely.

SOTOAN FORCES: The Sotoan military operates fifth-generation air superiority fighters, satellite coverage across the theater, two land battleships that dwarf anything the Federation ever possessed. Their pilots are well-trained, well-equipped, and fighting a war they've already won on paper. They do not fear Endurance. They hunt her. Their most well trained force is the 1st Special Operations Wing, 11th Tactical Squadron "Lux Lunae, their jet black wings spell death.

Major General Carmille Tewy: Paralyzed from the chest down ten years ago, she is the commander of the elite Sotoan Air Force Squadron "Lux Lunae," She was childhood friends with Jan Cope.

Colonel Girish Toprak: Callsign Ares, he is a Sotoan Ace who leads the Lux Lunae in battle, is commander of the Shadow "20" squadron, and his number is Shadow 22.

Shadow Squadrons: Numbers decrease as skill level increases. Numbered 20-200. Shadow Unit 20 fields Su-57 Felons, Units 30-100 deploy modern Gen 4.5 fighters. Units 100-180 deploy 4th generation fighters.
