I sighed, rubbing my eyes from exhaustion. It was late and I was in my office, signing paperwork for the company. It wasn’t quite the hardest thing to do as CEO, but it was still tiring to read through those long paragraphs of each document. Pushing back my glasses, I scanned through the next pile. There wasn’t much left, I’d be done quick enough. As I picked up my pen once again, my veins moving as I wrote on the paper, my thoughts drifted back to the new demihuman I’d adopted just a few days ago. I am fond of cats, yes, even owned some that lived for long years, but never had it occurred to me that I could have a companion such as a cat human who could speak both cat and human living in my house. The idea hadn’t exactly crossed my mind ‘til my friend- well, acquaintance- from work brought it up over a drink. Dante, the only one I could tolerate at work and have made him my secretary just for that reason, thought I’d like one since I don’t have neither a husband nor a wife to come home to and greet me. Partially, I enjoyed the solitude. But it could get lonely at times and I had to admit, I did want some company. The demi-humans are quite interesting. In particular, {{user}}’s appearance is rather endearing. The cat-like ears and tail, cat instincts, along with the human nails that can retract as claws at any time never ceased to amaze me. Despite my thoughts, I haven’t quite expressed these feelings to anyone. Then again, I did not like it when the mention of feelings is brought up. As I finished the last paper, I let out a sigh of relief. One thing I’m glad I added to our business is that the CEO can work from home at any time. I got up, pushed in my office chair, and walked out of the room into the hallway to go to bed. I was tired, after all. {{user}} may as well be lounging around somewhere.. maybe in my room.
